[Ironcastle]

Inside

The soldiers regroup by the elevator, which arrives. Another team of soldiers disembarks.

Soldier: They're somewhere down here. Two of them. One janitor, one scientist. One of them is armed.

Team Leader: Lock this whole place down. We'll search section by section.

A soldier walks up to a panel, and presses a few buttons. Moments later, blast doors begin descending in the corridors.

Roof

The squad, split on two, bursts out of two different doors.

Squad Leader: Everyone, drop your weapons and put your hands behind your head!

Everyone on the roof hears their radio chirp.

Director: This is the Director. Comply with the orders of Echo squad or you will be fired upon.

[Carbon Dogs]

The Carbon Dogs comply

[Ironcastle]

Roof

Squad Leader: Secure their weapons and search the area.

Half the squad moves to retrieve the Carbon Dogs' weapons, while the other half covers them with MX rifles.

[Banana Federation]

Inside:

Police Chief: Since there’s two of us, they’ll be in at least groups of three, so be ready. We need to get back to AI development and destroy that fancy robot, then we can surrender and get out later.

The pair continue evading the Ironians for the time being.


Outside:

Seeing That The guards seem to be ignoring them, Uomo orders the drones to fire near the squad on the roof, as more decoy grenades detonated closer to the Ironians, but not close enough to harm them.

[Carbon Dogs]

Inside

CSM activates his comms

CSM: All units outside disengage and fallback, until otherwise directed take orders from the benefactor.

Outside

The two remaining Carbon Dogs begin to withdraw bunny hopping each other to keep themselves covered.

[Ironcastle]

Roof

With the weapons secure, the new soldiers start placing handcuffs on the Carbon Dogs. With the Carbon Dogs disarmed, resistance is futile and they know it.

Squad Leader: You two, check the Ghosthawk. The rest of you, check their IDs.

Two soldiers walk up to the Ghosthawk and open its doors, Bulldogs at the ready.

Inside

Police Chief and Snake Man barely reach the melted door before the last blast door closes.

[Banana Federation]

Inside:

CSM and PC enter the room, after Chief removes a metal pipe from the janitor cart.


Outside:

The drones, now running low on power, continue taking pot-shots at the Ironians as they pull back, not in the direction of the base of operations.

[Ironcastle]

Inside

The room is dimly lit. However, in the middle is what appears to be a Bananish S.O.-series combat drone.

Roof

The two soldiers burst into the Ghosthawk, where they discover several cardboard boxes. Inside are undressed people, sleeping.

Soldier: Uh, sarge, there's a bunch of sleeping people in here. I think they're sleeping, at least. Yeah probably.

The Squad Leader walks over to look.

Squad Leader: Well I'll be.

She turns around and faces the disguised Carbon Dogs.

Squad Leader: Looks like you've all got some explaining to do.

[Banana Federation]

Inside:

Chief presses a button on one end of the metal pipe, causing the head of a mop to emerge from the other end.

Police Chief: Wait, no, whoops, that’s not it, hang on a sec.

He then proceeds to take his left shoe off, before removing the sole from it and checking to ensure it is in fact S.O-82 in the middle before placing the sole on it.

[Ironcastle]

Inside

The robot does appear to be S.O.-82. Police Chief can barely make out a crudely drawn Ironian flag on its chest.

[Banana Federation]

Inside

Police Chief: Right, So he said to put it... here... and here...

Chief puts the left sole on the front of the robot’s chest, but below the thickest of the armour, and takes his right sole and puts it on the back of the robot’s head, again just below the thick armour.

Police Chief: Nobody’s in here, right, cause this room’s about to explode, and we’re trying real hard not to kill anyone.

He waits a few moments for a response before leaving the room with Snake Man and taking his aviators off.

[Ironcastle]

Before they can leave, Chief and Snake Man hear the whirring of motors behind them. They spin around to see S.O.-82 standing up.

S.O.-82: Threat detected. Carbine. MRS-4. Carbon Dogs standard issue. Threat detected. Explosives. Scuoroan shoe bomb. North Scuro Police Department standard issue. Moving to apprehend.

[Banana Federation]

Chief turns around to face the drone.

Police Chief: Snake, drop your gun and leave the room. Robot, do you know what this is?

He lifts up the pipe with the mop head sticking out of it.

Police Chief: This is a type 97 compact non-nuclear EMP, linked to a dead man’s switch and a hair trigger, and it will fry your circuits and cut ventilation to this floor if it goes off, resulting in a dozen friendly casualties. Stop moving or I trigger it.

He says this while slowly backing away, towards the door.

[Ironcastle]

S.O.-82 pauses for a moment, then resumes walking forwards.

S.O.-82: Weapon not detected. Proceeding with law enforcement protocols.

[Banana Federation]

Police Chief: Hmm, alright then. I guess you should make sure your circuits don’t...

He puts his aviators back on, releasing the button on them he had been holding down since he took them off.

Police Chief: Overheat.

Chief dives towards the doorway as the two shoe bombs detonate.

[Ironcastle]

S.O-82 falls to the ground with a clang. Before Chief and Snake Man can leave, they hear a voice in the darkness.

???: Unit three has been destroyed. Deploying additional unit.

A panel in the wall nearby opens. Stepping out is S.O.-82, with its now signature Ironian flag.

S.O.-82: Dead or alive, you're coming with me.

[Banana Federation]

Police Chief: I should have known the robots would be so cunning. Well I say no more, The age of man is not yet over!

PC stands up, now shoeless, wielding a mop as a weapon.

Police Chief: Snake, get ready for a fight.

[Carbon Dogs]

Roof

One of the Carbon Dogs offers an explanation

CD: Uh, yeah those guards had a drug fuelled party in that ghost hawk, only place without surveillance and most of us have alot of steam to blow off you know?

Inside

CSM drops to the floor ready to engage the S.O-82

CSM: Chief take my shoes.

[Ironcastle]

Roof

The Squad Leader walks over to the nearest disguised Carbon Dogs soldier and looks at his ID badge. On close inspection, it looks nothing like him.

Squad Leader: So it just so happens that there's twice as many people as were reported up here, half are unconscious without uniforms and you look nothing like your ID badge. Am I correct?

[Carbon Dogs]

Roof

CD: Hey, I was in a bad accident and had facial reconstruction. Today was my first day back, but otherwise yes.

[Ironcastle]

She walks along the line of suspects.

Squad Leader: So it's a coincidence that none of you look like your badges?

[Carbon Dogs]

CD: It was a big accident, we were all going to a party that day.

[Ironcastle]

Squad Leader: Let's cut to the chase. Who are you working for?

[Carbon Dogs]

CD: Well ultimately, President Bradley Lister.

[Ironcastle]

Squad Leader: Alright then, recite your enlistment number.
