SONG: Absolute
ARTIST: Priscilla
TUNE: Gravity, by Zlata Ognevich
Priscilla Harper, known professionally under her first name, was internally selected by QTV, the largest broadcaster in Queensfield, to represent her nation in their WorldVision debut. At the age of 26, Priscilla has already had four albums and nine singles reach the top of the charts, as well as a minor international hit entitled Diamonds. During her visit to Kishrael, she conducted herself as a proper Lady, reserved and dignified in the Queenfield Aristocratic way.
Bold indicates backing singers, who are otherwise singing "oohs" and "ahs" or harmonizing with Priscilla in accordance to the tune.
As the song starts, the arena is in complete darkness. A light comes up on a ballerina dancer. She dances a routine until the second drumbeat, at which point the music stops, but echoes throughout the arena, and the lights cut out. A single spotlight illuminates Priscilla, wearing the dress in that picture, begins to sing gently and sadly.
On the days I feel alone
I can't pretend I don't cry
When we fell in love, I thought
I would move beyond this
White lights wash the stage as the music kicks up. A small choir of backup singers, all in tuxedos and red dresses (like these, but three of each gender), stand behind Priscilla, to her left. The ballet dancer is to Priscilla's right and further behind her, still performing a pretty traditional routine at this point, albeit at a faster pace. The lights on the dancer are a wash of light blue.
There are days I feel alone
Though I know that you love me
We could make it if I could
I wish I could let go
As the chorus starts, the ballerina incorporates more modern, acrobatic moves into her routine, blending it with classical ballet in a seamless fashion. Priscilla bounces lightly along to the music. The backup singers sway.
And we could touch the sky
And we'll be just fine, I know it babe
I need to let you know
(that absolutely)
It's absolute
We're so in love
The ballerina returns to a more traditional routine. The lights begin to move around slowly, creating the feel of a gentle breeze on a warm day. On 'more,' the ballerina begins to pirouette and continues until the chorus begins.
Oh
Hey yeah baby, baby
So I know I have my faults
Ooh, nobody's perfect
Have a little faith in me
Won't be scared no more
The ballerina again returns to her modern/acrobatic/classical mix, and some lights begin to flash in yellow along with the beat as the chorus begins again. When the music drops out, the dancer rests in a longing pose, reaching one hand to the sky. At the second key change, Priscilla removes the mic from its stand and sways around the stage. The ballerina incorporates her most acrobatic moves yet, really feeling the energy. She erupts in a triumphant pose on the final 'absolute,' and sparks fly from several places around the stage.
And we could touch the sky
And we'll be just fine, I know it babe
I need to let you know
(that absolutely)
It's absolute
We're so in love
And we could touch the sky...
And we could touch the sky...
And we will be just fine
(and absolutely)
It's absolute
We're so in love
Absolute!
She takes a moment to smile and bow before nearly shouting "Thank you!"
