Whats the specs on one of those

We are going for an INFANTRY group, special OPS or if anything Light Infantry. We shouldn't be discussing anything NAVAL because it immediately takes the Character interaction out, and also makes it prohibitive to non-space, or even landlocked MT nations.

You know, I actually just had a thought: we don't actually need a space ship at all. I mean, it's the Global Justice Unit, right? We're not going to be bashing slavers on Mars or liberating concentration camps in Alpha Centauri.

GI Joe seemed to get by just fine having naval characters (Shipwreck, Deep Six, I could probably go on but those are the two I thought of first), as well as pilots (Wild Bill comes to mind) and, yes, astronauts (Payload). This was never intended to be just a land unit... that would be far too limiting in terms of actually running the bad guys to ground and eliminating them, for one thing, and it would defeat your purpose of inclusivity by making only MT, landlocked nations eligible for another thing. Any Tech means all tech levels RPing together and completely ignoring any logistical issues that occur as a result of that... those logistical issues are being dwelled on way too much by a group that's supposed to be against even acknowledging logistical issues.Wisconsin9 wrote:I suggested the same thing.
I still posit that the base should be able to fly around.
Agreed. We need a joint consensus OOCly, and in order to accomplish that it needs to be a joint collaborative process ICly. And yes, it does need to be able to fly around, if only for convenience of getting the troops to where they actually need to be.Wisconsin9 wrote:You know, I actually just had a thought: we don't actually need a space ship at all. Shit, I'm out if that's the case... Olwe isn't on NSEarth.

Pavlostani is a recently reformed nation, after committing a large genocide in the names of race. The new leader, a man named Vladimir Mirov is attempting to hold the nation together. The Pavlostani have nobility, and sanctioned tribal areas. We also have donuts. They are a pride of the nation, one of the only ones.

It's this attempt to put every nation in all of NS on the same Earth or something.
It would work in theory.........IF NSEarth was a damn Shield World.
Hey, when are we going to do our RP.

Maybe some Olwean agency found NSEarth, then covertly infiltrated and took control of a relatively small government to keep an eye on us or something?

Hey, when are we going to do our RP.
Presumably as soon as we can agree on what exactly we're going to do for a base.

Maybe, but it just occurred to me that Olwe controls territory on RL Earth (or Harry Potter Earth, at any rate). Who controls Peleliu on NSEarth?

Urmanian wrote:Few tips, Castle:
1) Maximum depth seems way too high o_O Now I do not know the tech and materials used in making the hull but modern nuclear attack submarines would be crushed by pressure at depths of like 750 meters. Not that you would even HAVE to go to such depths.
2) An aircraft carrier this huge would have a much larger crew. A Nimitz has a crew of like 5,000. My 450 meter long carriers have the same complement requirements and they feature much more automatization than the Nimitz. It would need people to crew the ship, work its systems, provide amenities, tend the aircraft, fly the aircraft...
3) You should maybe include the power ratings of the fusion engines (this way the carrier's speed could also estimated more closely)
4) Just a minor technical thing: height is not usually something listed when listing the technical features of a naval vessel; draft (that is, the vertical distance between the waterline and the bottom of the hull (keel), basically the minimum depth of water a ship or boat can safely navigate) is what is usually considered relevant to the ship's performance, height is not really representative of anything in ships
5) Should include some weapons, if only defensive ones
sorry, I just love naval design :<
