You know, I actually just had a thought: we don't actually need a space ship at all. I mean, it's the Global Justice Unit, right? We're not going to be bashing slavers on Mars or liberating concentration camps in Alpha Centauri.

I can agree to this... I'm already regretting that I even bothered to suggest that our GJU people needed a place to rest their weary heads in between all the fighting and offering a ship that could easily meet the requirements that all the arguing has been over in the first place.

Perhaps we should just drop all the arguing and get back to the people who will make up our fighters on the ground and their enemies?

Its not that, we do need a base to deploy spec-ops from otherwise where are they going to get their weapons, gadgets, and vehicles to covertly transport them, and a spaceship is a good idea but we need some Terra based command centers as well for MT and PMT people as well as quicker deployments I think

I'll admit, GI-Joe liberating a concentration camp on Alpha Centauri would be as awesome as Superman wrestling a cosmic shark on the surface of the sun, but I say we do some build-up stories strictly on Earth before we do the space adventure episode.

I would suggest an amphibian Mammoth, and maybe a small space station with a few planes in orbit like in the old Action Man cartoon.

As for tech my nation could contribute, I mainly have psykers and helicopters, and subterran tunneling vehicles.

So I would suggest my contribution is a heavy transport helicopter, a few assault helicopters, maybe a submarine or two, a few psykers of your choice, and a subterran infiltration tank (given that the thing works with enzymes that dissolve rock, splatters the sludge all over the walls and then hardens it with a second enzyme, the tunnels can also be used by other vehicles - how long the tunnels last in general depends on the ground).

Here are my two cents:

We are going for an INFANTRY group, special OPS or if anything Light Infantry. We shouldn't be discussing anything NAVAL because it immediately takes the Character interaction out, and also makes it prohibitive to non-space, or even landlocked MT nations.

I only suggested a SEA NAVAL ship as a place to deploy covert ops from like they do in RL, mini-subs to infiltrate from sea, or stealth VTOL to transport teams from as well as a place for the team to come together and interact with each other, because this is somewhat similar to what I had in mind for Castle Inc

Once again, this takes away chances for other people to roleplay while if we were doing Light Infantry, Spec OPs, or even regular espionage, we can have everyone participate without a hitch or even a whisper about tech restrictions or power plays.

Once again, I emphasize, that nations that are landlocked in MT would be prohibited from playing, if it was even an MT Seal type thing, as they won't really have anything other than a Brown Water Navy at best, IF that. Then if it is a space navy of any sort, then it prohibits anyone who is not FT. Whereas if you go to light infantry, or a SPEC OPS group, or a Espionage group it doesn't restrict ANYONE.

If our goal is inclusivity, we need to allow these things to be as inclusive as possible.

I really don't see how aquatic boats and submarine insertion would have anything to do with tech differences. Small fast boats or a submarine provided by a maritime nation would be nice. Hell, we could do multiple bases on both land and at sea and a wider variety of potential RP ideas would be available than if we just stuck to land. Stuff like anti-piracy, boarding operations, boarding hostile oceanic platforms, river patrols, that kind of crap.

We could always find a way to include landlocked nations, just because they're landlocked doesn't mean we have to squander a great opportunity for more diverse RPs.

It was only a suggestion, I had envisioned something kind of like the carrier at the end oj GI joe, not a naval fleet just a mobile base of operations to deploy infantry teams from, not to engage in large scale naval battles, I think we are having a bit of a miscommunication here but I could be wrong, I'm NOT trying to exclude anyone I wouldn't think of it, I AM spitballing ideas here ok.

Merc Group members, for Castle Inc's Mobile Operation Base I have planned a submersible super carrier and I need a little help with the design, initial stats are
Speed:
Water Surface: 30 knots (55.6 km/34.5 mph)
Underwater: 40 knots (74.1 km/46.1 mph)
Maximum Depth: 5.6 miles (9.0 km)
Maximum Effective Range: Effectively Unlimited due to fusion engines (needs to refuel every 20 years and requires maintenance as well). Vessel carries 18 months of supplies on board.

Statistical Data:
Height: 262 feet (81 meters) (with Conning Tower/sensor mast: 137 meters. (458 feet.))
Width: 351 feet (107 meters)
Length: 1,972 feet (601 meters)
Weight: 450,000 metric tons.
Power System: Fusion; average energy life of 20 years.

Crew: 1,600 Officers and Ratings.
Troop Capacity: 180 Aircraft Pilots, 120 Submersible Pilots, and 500 Mixed Load Out of Corporate Soldiers
50 Strike Fighter VTOL
20 Transport VTOL
10 Utility VTOL

Submersible craft
36 Mini Attack Submersibles
10 Mini Utility Submersibles

Again, I'm volunteering one of my AACs. They can go over land, so no worries there; most of them can support small and medium civilian airliners, so MT souldn't be out; and CSW soldiers would run it offscreen, so ops wouldn't detract from roleplay.

Few tips, Castle:

1) Maximum depth seems way too high o_O Now I do not know the tech and materials used in making the hull but modern nuclear attack submarines would be crushed by pressure at depths of like 750 meters. Not that you would even HAVE to go to such depths.

2) An aircraft carrier this huge would have a much larger crew. A Nimitz has a crew of like 5,000. My 450 meter long carriers have the same complement requirements and they feature much more automatization than the Nimitz. It would need people to crew the ship, work its systems, provide amenities, tend the aircraft, fly the aircraft...

3) You should maybe include the power ratings of the fusion engines (this way the carrier's speed could also estimated more closely)

4) Just a minor technical thing: height is not usually something listed when listing the technical features of a naval vessel; draft (that is, the vertical distance between the waterline and the bottom of the hull (keel), basically the minimum depth of water a ship or boat can safely navigate) is what is usually considered relevant to the ship's performance, height is not really representative of anything in ships

5) Should include some weapons, if only defensive ones

sorry, I just love naval design :<
