Well...this is interesting. People in a RP of mine are telling me Humanity is fledgling and that everything human is unoriginal.

My only issue with Humans is that everyone and their grandma in FT has a Human nation that is only slightly different then something before them in certain cosmetic ways, and that even alien nations are just Humans with powers and skin colors not existent to our biology....or that but with nice head fridges or something...

I chuckled. There are all of 3 or 4 small things about my human FT nation that I didn't create myself (not including artwork because I can't draw to save my life). They obviously have no idea WTF they're talking about because they're probably used to dealing with clones of existing sci-fi franchises. I'd recommend not rising to their bait and arguing about it as they are entitled to their opinions (no matter how foolish they are).

Ignore them. My FT nation, in all of its various incantations, has been human-dominated for the past few years. I find it interesting, easier to do, and more suited to my style; I'm guessing you feel a similar way.

I don't want to RP with Human nations all to much, but I don't dislike them because of their choice in Rp.

I actually find human nations the most interesting. As a reader, I can sympathize with humans a lot more than some alien with little basis in reality (forgive me, I know this is SR). It's fun to see how humans have fared on the final frontier. Some have them desperately fighting against the superior alien menace, while others have them dominating.

It is unoriginal to me, but that doesn't make it bad.

And I don't find it interesting much, even in my case. I just felt like making a Halo/SA nation and don't fuck it up like all the noobs, but I generally think something completely new and unique far more interesting.

Whats so special about Humans? Its the species I am, fine...thats cool I guess.

Aliens have no basis in reality? Depends, are we talking about My Little Humans, blue makes you an alien?

And its film, MLH: A little rubber on your forehead makes you an alien.

I mean if someone is going to make an alien, but make it look human...just make a Human and give them some fancy shit, I mean really, make it or don't.

Again, I have nothing wrong with Human nations, but in FT....to me at least, they are unoriginal, they are not very interesting most of the time, and some people bullshit theirs and call them aliens.

And people say Turians or something are unrealistic (They aren't)

I don't spend much time on the computer in general anymore (mostly because I'm usually either out with my friends, at work, or doing something else) Though I have been meaning to try and spend more of the computer time I do have on NationStates.

On the topic of humans, though... Humans in the rps and also in the major sci-fi franchises are always like the average species, all bland and no advantages. But like, what if humans were the largest or strongest compared to other aliens, or they were the fastest or smartest, or we can stand temperatures that's too hot/cold for most other species, you know what I mean?

At least ME gave us sort of a strength against other nations in that we have more ingenuity and a stronger driving willpower compared to the stronger, smarter and more powerful species of the galaxy.
