I've never had a cat die that young. The youngest I've seen is 14, at least from natural causes (they can, of course, get hit by a car or killed by another animal or whatever before they're even 1, though thankfully I've never been around when something like that happened).

The cat I have now turns 12 in July and is still doing all right aside from some mild arthritis in her back legs. Hopefully your cat's got a few more years left in it too, Zein.

Bit of random trivia: On Science Diet brand cat food, Senior Feline version, 8 is the age at which a cat is considered a senior citizen (meaning they should live a few years more after that, presumably... most humans don't die the day they hit 55, after all).

I am saddened by the cat news. Reminds me of the fact that every pet I adopt doesn't last a year. A dog died, a cat died, my turtle died, my love birds did too as welk the same, my gold fish, a chicken and other fish.

I couldn't even take care of an electronic online pet.
