Lucis nodded, "Indeed..... So I guess it's safe to assume that after this is all over you will attempt to recontact your family?" he shrugged, "Well, at least you can adimre their cunning. They've kept you out of sight of all the agents of your family." He sighed, "So while we are in the talkative mood I think we should sort out a few..... Things. First off, where will you be staying while I'm at the academy? Second, how do you plan to protect me? And finaly, are there any skills besides the one mentioned in your description that I should be aware of?" Hmm... She's a clever girl, let's see how she answers these....

"I don't know where I'm going to stay," Camelia answered mater-of-factly. "If their's nowhere for me to stay at the academy, by which I expect you mean uldartre academy as its the only school strange enough to invite a bunch of foreign students, I don't have any money.
I'll protect you in any way that does not have an expected result of me dying or getting seriously injurred, and You'll have to discover my skills by yourself."

Blacksen waited. Blacksen Waited, and waited and waited.
Andreas, after a full 10 minutes had passed, finally picked a slave to order. "Have you checked all her stats? What country is she from?" he asked, making sure that Andreas hadn't let hormones get away with him and ordered a strikingly beautiful, yet extremely disobedient, Celerian with a bad temper on her.

He didn't have time to answer as, from one of the back rooms, a uniformed guard dragged a girl, her head covered, on a short chain, her hands cuffed behind her back. "This one looks like yours, just give the man that chardboard printout and I'll pay."

Andreas grabbed the printout and handed it to the guard. Blacksen had been asking him something, but Andreas was too busy staring at his new slave's picture to hear what he was saying.

[New Cinoth]

Lucis thought for a moment, "They might have rooms open. And I'm sure our good friend Liam over here will help pay for the board. won't you Liam?" Lucis laughed as he looked over at Liam, That might have been a little low but it can't be helped..... At least she'll have somewhere near to stay. Lucis looked back at her, "So as long as the chances are over 50% in your safety you'll help? Well, then you should be perfectly fine." he sighed at the mention of her skills, "Oh.... I see..... So I assume you are giving me permission to probed your mind until I can drag out what I need to know, correct?" Wires extended from Lucis's robe, "And I promise that I won't break or mess around with anything...."

Lucis turned, "Perfect. I'd prefer a well cared for pet instead of one living in bad condition. we'll also have to make sure she isn't diseased or carrying worms. Then we'll have to get her washed up and smelling less like a prision cell." I think I'm doing well for my first time! he turned back towards Camelia, "So bakc to the important business of figuring out your skill. Just hold still, you don't want to move around and such...." He paused, "Alrighty then.... Ready?" I wonder if she'll actually let me examine her to see what skill she posesses. She gave me premission, so it's all good!

Laura's car

Laura studied the faces of the 3 people in the car. The satellite system didn't seem to like her cars foreign-built circuits very much and she had had to switch to manual control, using a primative stearing wheel to turn.
It was only then that she caught sight of the towering skyscraper with a Vakolicci flag hanging over the top of it. "Wow," she said. "They've got nerve. Putting up a GVH flag in this province. This looks like the slave market. Do any of you want to buy anything from here?" Subconsciously, she glanced at Amyka on the last part of her sentence.

"Yeah, I'll get something. My family freed two of their servants, so they are kind of short on hands. Might as well get them a gift..."
He stepped out of the car and stretched. "I don't understand how people stay in those cramped things...trains and monorails are better."

[Woodstovia]

"I hate you all, stop bickering" Vladim said angrily but he said it in the mongrel tongue of Woodstovia, a growling and guttural language which made the statement sound more threatening but also made it an ugly statement to listen to.

[New Cinoth]

Gah... First yes, then no. What the hell! Lucis's wires retracted, "Hey! That's not fair. first you said I had to discover them and that was what I was gonna do!" He sighed, shaking his head, "Honestly can you make up your mind?"Lucis scratched his head, "No pet? Hmmm.... Then what are you? You aren't a slave, that's for damn sure. Or at least not with that attitude." he paused, "So what would you prefer to be called? She-who-must-serve-me?" Lucis began to laugh, 'And no, I wouldn't like it if you started with that noise..... It is the sound children make if you inject them with euphoric drugs and then set them on fire.... well, not exactly but you get the gist of it." Lucis turned, surpised to Vladim, "What kind of sound was that?"

Osman stared at the strange wires, mesmerized by their movements. They were like blind mechanical snakes, probing the air for food. As the wires approached Camelia's face, Osman's eyes widened in horror. He was going to send the wires into her face. His religious conscious tugged hard on his sleeve, urging him to interrupt. When Camelia interrupted, he spoke up quickly.
"If you desire, you can pit her against me in a spar to determine her skills, Lucis." said Osman.
He was relieved. He hated the Vakolicci singing. A proper song was for the march, to inspire courage. Not for beauty to be heard.

[Woodstovia]

"Woodstovian. It meant just let him do what he wants or you'll just be in more trouble" Vladim sighed "I'm not the best at languages you see, I may get them mixed up sometimes."

[Vakolic]

"You think I'm going to serve you?" Camelia laughed.
"I doubt that's going to happen. It's rather difficult to get a Vakolicci to serve you. You'll have to earn it."

This was risky play from Camelia. She was going against the Vakolicci slave legislation: it was not going to sit well with the mainstream Vakolicci. She was far too liberal to be considered mainstream.

[New Cinoth]

Lucis looked over at Osman, "You can if she want to? I personally don't mind. but it would be interesting to see....." He turned over to Vadim, "Ah, now I understand. That's an interesting language. The language of New Cinoth is composed of mostly of short clips, it is basicly verbal binary code. It is quite efficiant at transfering information. In fact it-" He turned back to Camelia, "I don't think that's allowed exactly. However I guess if you feel strongly enough we can try to earn eachother's respect. If you aren't willing to give a little then why should I have to conform to your own ideas?" She might be a nice enough person but she is still expendable. Let's see how she reacts to that little suggestion.

"A people that sing to speak and yet resist so defiantly" Vladim smiled "you are truly a strange people." yet Vladim was now intrigued with what his slave was planning, unless of course the girl was bluffing which she most likely was.

"No," Camelia said. "It's probably not allowed. However, I've never been one to keep to Vakolicci laws, especially the class system we seem to have developed. Even before I was in such a position as this, I managed to influence my father's pollecies in this area to give each man and woman the right to his or her own life. However, according to the supreme havensschmultra, that's not allowed to happen."
"Rather strange," commented Liam, "from a province where the motto translates as 'my nation, my will, my future."

Lucis laughed, "Then it's settled! It'll be give and take, of course I'm giving you your eventual freedom, so you have a bit of catching up to do!" He sighed, "Also don't expect me to cave into your demands like your father. I'm only agreeing because I would prefer to have a protector, however my indulgence has it's limits." Lucis streched slowly, "So... Now that that's settled we can have a nice mutal relationship!" Lucis looked over at Osman, "What made you want to fight her for my sake? It's not llike you need practice, or do you?"

"Practice is always necessary."

Throughout the conversation, young Will had only looked away once, as Lucis had presented the wires. He had felt a jolt in his chest as he had looked away quickly, shutting his eyes tight. That is, until the young slave spoke up in defiance. That had certainly perked the boy's interest. The slave, Camelia showed a lot of spirit as well as a lot of guts, and Will couldn't help but be envious of her if only slightly for it. The young boy let out a sigh as he shifted left to right ever so slightly, trying to rest his feet where he stood. There was a throbbing feeling beginning to form in his temple, but the young boy ignored it only touching the side of his head slightly. As he put the slightest of pressure against the side of his head, the irritating throbs he felt subsided a fraction as he continued to listen to what they had to say trying very hard to wrap around what everyone was saying.

Of course, the boy had his own opinions on the topic but he kept his mouth shut. He honestly doubted that they wanted to hear the opinions of a young Alaryan boy. But the topic was interesting none the less and kept him grounded where he was, keeping him in check. William faltered where he stood for just a moment, but righted himself quickly as he looked up at Osman with his eyebrow arched as he once again licked his dry lips, unsure as to what he meant.

"What do you mean, Osman?"

Jason was taken aback from Laura's response. He could tell she showed some disdain towards the market earlier, especially when she saw the flag. He half expected her to be against the notion of slavery, but either she's trying to be neutral, or he's losing his touch.

"Hardwired loyalty?" Jason said as he climbed out of the small car. "That's something I've never heard of. Maybe we should buy some slaves and train them so we have something to throw at the Imperials" he laughed. "nah, I'm sure we have enough indentured servants roaming the estate with nothing to do"

Jason stepped back and looked around. Yep, this is enough sight seeing for today. "Vlad, Lucis, Blacksen and the others said they were going to head to the weapon bazaar. Why do we head there and meet them there?"

Lucis loked at Osman, "Ummm.... I understand paractice is needed to get good results, but against someone who has been in a cell for who knows-how-long? I'm not sure I see how much you could improve from that." He sighed Odd, why would he risk himself to help me evaluate Camelia. It doesn't really add up.... He sighed and inclinded his head towards Will, "I believe hejust wanted to practice against someone who may or may not be somewhere close to his own skill level. It's an odd sort of desire that stems from the mind wanting to prove that it is better than it's peers."

OOC: I was planning on RPing the slave. I think I'll go with her being a Celerian.

"I don't know. I'm sure I'll think of something." Andreas turned to his slave and tried to speak to her. "Uh, H-hello. I'm your new master. W-what's your n-name?"

The slave remained silent. She gave Andreas a defiant look.

Will nodded to Lucis, although it did not make a lick of sense to the young boy. Perhaps it was his young age, or the fact that he did not understand. He never had to prove himself in that way, or at least physically. His mother had preferred that he focus on other things with his time. William frowned slightly, his brows furrowed. It wasn't like he had grown up with the privilege of being able to compete against someone himself, having sisters. His mentor had challenged him of course, but not in the way he had a feeling that Lucis explained it. His mother's cousin had taught him well, but had never actually tried when it came to competition and Will knew it, for he had seen the knight with his peers.

Will assumed that this was what Lucis meant because he had nothing else for him to compare it to. He eyed him carefully, as if trying to make out the entire situation, but eventually gave up with a shrug as he put his hands in his pockets. The hilt blade from Osman skimmed against his palm as did the little piece of parchment that resided there also. His large blue eyes trailed toward the slave girl as he looked at her cautiously before taking a step towards her master speaking in a low whisper.

"Maybe Osman can see that there is more to her than meets the eye," the boy said to Lucis regarding his comment to Osman about the odds. William paused once more as his eyes trailed over to Camelia with a slight smile. "I certainly think there is..."

[New Cinoth]

Lucis nodded, "I'll say." He sighed, "I think Osman just wants an excuse to show off. Not that he really needs to considering we all have unique talents." He began to laugh, "I'm sure everyone here is holding something back and out of common knowledge. If we didn't then they would know all our limitations and strengths." Lucis paused, "What's that last part suppose to mean?" He watched Will look at Camelia, "You better not be thinking of what I think you might be thinking of."
