That could work. A mix of weapons would be preferred so as to make it more plausible that it's not a single nation doing the providing

So it's perfectly plausible for you to claim fascist Lanos SA-7s are downing your aircraft while we have a good excuse for them

Possible but probably not something I'm going to mention in RP, at least in anything more than vague terms, since there is the possibility that they simply stole them form us, as we also used the SA-7.

Probably a good mix of MRS-67 and ART-64s, some of which might be license produced versions from another nation, to lend confusion to the whole thing. Though, OKC PMCs would look at tad out of place if one got a close look at them. Tall, gangly fair-skinned Cordians don't look very much at home in central America.

Do you want any of them to be present with the rebel forces that will be ambushing our people?

If yes:
- Can we spot them during the battle, basically giving us some intelligence that someone from the White World is helping the rebels.
- Can any of them be killed during the firefight?

I don't care either way, just defining limits.

Trans I have a weird idea of how I might get involved with this. What if I had some character (or a set, maybe 2 or 3 of them) who were some young, peace corps fellows from Page who went to Costa Mejis to help the poor, downtrodden third worlders, and ended up kidnapped by some anti-communist guerrillas for money.

Of course, because the Pagian State Department warned them they were taking their lives in their own hands, and forbids paying any sort of ransom because they fear it encourages more kidnapping, they ended up being basically abandoned.

But then Stockholm Syndrome and yada yada, one of the hostages becomes sympathetic to the guerrillas' cause. I think I would have two characters, one of them who is now a part of the army and really fanatical (would be interested if he had some renown as a hero, maybe he has a wacky nickname or something like 'the mad gringo', IDK), and another who is sort of going along really reluctantly, the third hostage would be dead.
Anarcho-Communist Against: Bolsheviks, Fascists, TERFs, Putin, Autocrats, Conservatives, Ancaps, Bourgeoisie, Bigots, Liberals, Maoists

I don't believe in kink-shaming unless your kink is submitting to the state.

Most likely they would be encountered if you entered the village. Their mission would be to defend the villagers and instruct the rebels, rather than actively attack the government.

If you did;

Certainly. They would be dressed like rebels, but one could pick them out.
Again, certainly. I'll have some named characters I'd like you to leave alone, but most are fair game.

Edit: would be amusing if you encountered this specimen;

It needs a name. :P

As in, it needs to be a named character! :P

Any case, sure, if you want to contribute to the RP you're welcome to.

Outline of events I'd like to see is as follow:

- Mission planning/character introductions:
- Start of mission
- The mission should go tits up shortly after it gets underway, one of the two helicopters carrying in First Platoon should be shot down, the second will abort. Second and Third will and to establish a perimeter and will make contact with a larger than expected rebel force in the jungle, I'm thinking a company sized force, maybe two companies. Instead of being able to close in on the town with ease, they'll either have to hold in place or assault forward.
- Forth platoon will be committed to the village with whats left of First Platoon, they and the two Ka-52's providing support will attempt an insertion again, this time successfully. Firefight in the village to ensue. Transports to remove prisoners and wounded first, then r return for the soldiers...who will be bust burning the place down in the mean time, in theory. (Iffy part - something happens to pin the units down in the village, maybe the loss of another chopper - they're surrounded by hostile enemies and cut off from the blocking forces
- Puz is going to send in some Rapid Reaction forces for relief (more than likely) but more importantly, a land convoy will be organized to relieve the First and Fourth.
- This land convoy (consisting off my own vehicles and Puz's vehicles) will have to pass through the <insert name here> tunnel to arrive in any reasonable amount of time. They will be ambushed by another, smaller force will ambush them inside the tunnel, or maybe at the mouth of the tunnel on the rebel side. This attack will be quashed, but will delay their response. Note this attack was only possible because the militia that were supposed to be patrolling the tunnel and the area around the Rebel-side entrance. They obviously failed to do this sufficiently.
- At some point, the relief forces will arrive, and the remaining rebels will either surrender or melt back into the jungle. (I kind of like the second one, a sits more frustrating to us)

My goals:Kind of an IC/OOC mix here

- Show that, while our intelligence may have bungled, our fighting forces are not incompetent and can hold their own
- Kind of the opposite of the above, show that our militiamen are fucking retarded.
- We have a rebel problem and may need assistance, setting up more plot lines with Puzikas
- Begin plot lines regarding foreign assistance to the rebels
- Have fun

Just throwing this out there, but Wesi mercenaries would be available to fight for either side. They'd have no government sanction, and those fighting for the rebels would likely be declared outlaws, but that really wouldn't stop them if the pay and fighting are good enough.

To my credit, I can have fascist fighters lurking across the world since the fall of fascism in Lanos in 1991. They failed in an insurgency campaign from 1991-1993 and then they admit defeat and decide it's better to go elsewhere to raise hell.

Trans, as a thought, what if the tunnel ambush involved preset IED's, that would certainly show that the Rebels are competent and prepared, while also falling into the goal of showing how useless the militia is, after all if they had been patrolling their would be no IED's there.

As to rebel assistance, while you will find Erisinta weapons, you will not find any members of their armed forces their at this time. You might find evidence that they were there at some point in the past to help with training and the distribution of weapons.

Throwing this out there, I think we should make just a general sort of 'news' thread, basically a place where we can write short in-character stories, news releases, or posts that don't necessarily have to tie in with others. I had a few I was considering writing but didn't warrant their own thread since they involved minimal external interaction and weren't supposed to be that long anyway.

I am going ahead without our Germany. I shall be adopting the P.38, Gewehr 43 (later modified post-war), and MG42 immediately upon my in-character existence. Therefore, they will have to have used them at some point in the past and have had their factories located in my region.

Note that this is only regarding infantry small arms. I have not yet put much thought into other things such as vehicles, tanks, etc. Chances are they'll be cut-and-paste near-exactly from Nazi Germany in WWII.
