Updated map of Costa Mejis!

Image

Small changes to the road structure and the Straights of Vi Castis. I also have to image there are innumerable little hamlets and villages dotted across the landscape and countryside, including the islands.

Brown are rail lines, purple are "planned routes" for highways/tunnels

Orange squares are army bases, tan.gray are air force, blue are navy.

Next up are names for places, but thats not really a priority to me.

Well at least they should serve as a bridge to adopting the F-22 alongside the Emmerians.

Um, not really. The gap between the F-22 and the F-4 can no't be bridges, its more like a gulf...across the ocean...all the oceans.

The ONLY common thing I'm seeing here, aside from, "it flies" "it has jets" and "it has daka" is "they're both made in Murica"

So i your establishing precedent for buying your aircraft from America, well done. If you're looking for a plane to precede the F-22 and lead into it through develop technology. No, I'm sorry. As Alaska already said, fighter designed has changed since the F-4, and its changed a bit from the F-15C/F-16 to the F-22, adding "stealth and maneuver" to where once only "maneuver" was.

Also, the F-4 is a multi-role aircraft, this is known. The F-22 is an air superiority fighter, end of. Yes, it can carry like 2 JDAM's or some small diameter bombs, that hardly makes it a worthy ground strike package.

Incidentally, I need two other countries, one in East Asia and one somewhere in the Americas, to place satellite tracking stations for my GPS-equivalent network which would be under construction and just reaching IOC in 2013. Ideally neutral powers if possible that would be willing to allow us to operate the installation ourselves, although in exchange we would be willing to allow access to the military-grade broadcasts.

Sure, go nuts. Will there be hard currency involved, sub-contracting, that sort of thing?

No, by that point I'm independent, part of the non-aligned movement, but have ties with both sides.

Local services would be relied on just as in the case of real-life American bases abroad, although for reasons of security the actual construction of the base would be carried out by Carthaginian military engineers. Primary operational staff would also be Carthaginian but base support staff could be hired locally.

If we can inspect it for quality first of course, sure. It would need to be somewhere flat with relatively low cloud cover and good sightlines to space (e.g. no mountains nearby to block line-of-sight to satellites), as well as low background radio chatter, so not too close to major cities. It'd probably house a few hundred operations and security personnel, with a few hundred more local contractors and have the usual smattering of large satellite dishes and a small runway.

Sorry, I haven't quite gotten the list of who's who down yet. Which TF nation are you again?

Since I'm participating in the R&D collaboration with you an outgrowth of that might be a GPS set up in my nation. Either with you constructing and controlling it or a joint effort between the two of us to expand a mutual GPS net.

Well, I suppose I can have more. The US currently has 13 bases for GPS tracking across the globe. A few of the larger ones for my program may also incorporate general satellite and deep-space tracking in conjunction with the space program. Which is also open for partnerships.

And that is another thing I would be glad to partner up for.

Here is a thought, we could have some type of Independent Nations for Technological Development, or some such, where member states pay in a set amount in money, experts land, and facilities, and in return get the benefits of any technology satellite, deep space, GPS, whatever that the alliance/organization has.

I'll probably offer my tank for export once it's done and I have an image. Would anyone (preferably someone not NACO/Kursk affiliated) be interested in making it a joint project between our nations?

Well I can only speak for my stake in the Kursk Concords, but you do share a border with my ally, so we would probably be very interested in your proposal.

Well, having just finished the work on my own tank, I'm not likely interested in this one.

It's a nice concept but I can just imagine the security issues people would have with it from a realistic perspective. I could see it being operated in a strictly non-military capacity, something like CERN, but not for projects of any military importance, since nations prefer to choose their allies on a case-by-case basis.

Scratch the mainline F-4 idea. Just go with F-15s and such before the newer stealth jets come in.

Hopefully, the final iteration of my map:

Image

Ciudad Mejis there, in the north, is so hamfistedly named to try and cut down on rebel sentiment and break their attachment to their Mayan heritage. The city actually has a Mayan name yet to be determined, but that's what locals will refer to it is, as opposed to the government sanctioned name.

Of course, doing so and being caught can get you convicted of "anti revolutionary activities"
