I was under the impression that having a OC saint for your country was ok, even if it was some folk hero that would later be, at some point, canonized. Unfortunately, this is Terra Firma and going out assuming that before checking with people gets you in IC hot water and that once out there, you're fucked unless we work something out. Is my assumption stupid or do I need to work out a IC reason?

Well, to be fair, I was playing off Tran's bit and yours going with my understanding of having the Papacy and what not in not-Italy. I wasn't aware of sainthood issues or the like, and it seemed to be something fun to play around with.

There could be any number of reasons for the oversight if you stop to think about it.

Perhaps there was a miscommunication.

Perhaps there was bribery involved, and misinformation.

Perhaps there's something political behind it.

Perhaps it's all one big misunderstanding.

Or if it's that big a deal, perhaps we can all just shrug and let it go, if you don't want to deal with it. It's your choice. It isn't as though we can force you into anything that I'm aware of.

I would like to respond to the allegations by presenting some backstory/character development for the saint. Though, I'd like Rome to back me up by providing the documentation afterwards. >.>
