Basically, the idea is that the Powell Board's recommendation of a .258 caliber round was considered seriously and ended up appeasing both factions of the army (those who wanted long range performance and those who wanted lighter weights and recoil).

If we do diverge from this idea, then I'm going to submit the 6.5x45mm, which is just a shortened version of the 6.5x50mm Wesi, Triggthiuda's round from the mid 1890s to the mid 1950s.

I drew a round of similar caliber and case length, but I'm not sure how much this differs from 6.5x45mm Wesi.
...I may need to update a few things...
Also I offer my 6.5x45mm round for consideration as 6.5 ANTO, and allow Emmeria or other major ANTO powers to claim credit for developing the round.

Would this 6.5x45mm be able to provide ~2,500 joules out of a ~500mm barrel?

6x49 and a case developed from 6x49 are already in use in TF oddly enough.

Mine comes in at just below 2400 joules.

This story sounds interesting regarding the PAK FA. But even if the Indians know what they're talking about, I highly doubt Puzikas would be having issues with his PAK FAs like what the article is talking about.

Its already flying in TF and has been since 2010 so I'm going to say no, it doesn't have these issues for the sake of RPing.
Plus I'm pretty skeptical as to anything that an indian business magazine is reporting on aviation.

I thought so. Plus, the article also says the Indians have so much modern technology coming into their services that they don't know what they're talking about.

Does this mean the F-35s issues are also sidelining the fighter as in RL or is it flying already?

The original article was bit different...
http://www.business-standard.com/articl ... 059_1.html

The objections stressed in the original article were a bit different from what Fox picked up and none of them are exactly earth-shattering:
Business Standard has reviewed the minutes of that meeting. The IAF's three top objections to the FGFA were: (a) The Russians are reluctant to share critical design information with India; (b) The fighter's current AL-41F1 engines are inadequate, being mere upgrades of the Sukhoi-30MKI's AL-31 engines; and (c) It is too expensive. With India paying $6 billion to co-develop the FGFA, "a large percentage of IAF's capital budget will be locked up."

But really this seems more like an attack of reality than anything else. India has been persisting in the fantasy that it could run something like four major fighter procurement programs simultaneous (MMRCA aka Rafale, FGFA aka Pak-FA, Tejas, AMCA) and it was inevitable that something would give.

Well, RL, the PAK FA isn't in service either, so...

Virana said that the F-35 is in service, just as the PAK FA is, I don't think there are huge quantities of either.

So what's with the whole intermediate ANTO rifle cartridge push? Didn't Virana stick to 6.35x45mm ANTO (the Cordaround Corda wanted) or is there a new round coming soon?

Just wanted to say, the Vladimir Lenin Class Destroyer is now active in TF. There's two versions: A nuclear powered and a standard powered. The nuclear is no sale to anyone who isn't me (Restrictions I've placed on myself), but the standard is to certain, pre-approved nations.

If you have any interest in purchasing one ICly, let me know.

When was it last that a shooting incident like this (or any other) actually made people legitimately search for answers or try a new approach? None that I can think of, It's been the same people, shouting the same expletives with the same people dying.

I hear they have good internet over in Scandinavia.

I would buy one, and then rip it apart to look at its tech. But I doubt that your going to sell to me, after what has happened in Costa Mejis.
