There was a bit of a retcon with ANTO calibers when Corda left, wasn't there? I'm asking because I suddenly feel like drawing up all the TF small arms cartridges and maybe even the COW grenade (which may receive a couple of retcons and a rewrite).

I'm honestly not sure, I don't think anything changed though. I think its still 6.8 for rifles, or something, and 10 mm for hand guns.

No, I mean that I thought the .280 was retconned out and the 7.62 used as per OTL, with it only diverging when the 6.35x45mm is adopted instead of the 5.56x45mm.

IIRC, Virana retconned .280 in favor of the UR-pushed 7.62x51mm ANTO round. 6.35x45 ANTO was adopted as the eventual intermediate. 10mm ANTO or Wesi/.40 S&W remains the pistol round.

I have seen add-on rear protection on the Army's IOTVs in conjunction the huge groin protector but "There is also a back pad in the lower back area of the vest, which is designed to defeat fragmentation impacts to the lower back/kidney areas. However, the back pad does not provide ballistic protection."

I am going to plug the 6.5x49mm for ANTO. Which I just made up but is a lot like the Russian 6x49mm. Which was awesome btw.

I have no idea how the caliber issue was resolved. I do recall Corda chose to keep his .280 British for himself and leave the rest of then-NACO with their 6.35 mm round, while also pulling it to the 125 mm tank gun accidentally. At the time, canon Carthage (not just TF Carthage) used the round too, but now it uses 7 mm PCTA so I stopped paying attention to the matter. Corda left rather abruptly and I don't recall it having been brought up here after his departure.

Thats not a ballistic ass pad, thats a groin pad and a lower back flap. And ass pad would be, well, a pad for the ass pad.

Basically, the idea is that the Powell Board's recommendation of a .258 caliber round was considered seriously and ended up appeasing both factions of the army (those who wanted long range performance and those who wanted lighter weights and recoil).

If we do diverge from this idea, then I'm going to submit the 6.5x45mm, which is just a shortened version of the 6.5x50mm Wesi, Triggthiuda's round from the mid 1890s to the mid 1950s.
