I do have a RP suggestion if you guys are up for listening to it.

I'll get to that probably tomorrow. Running out of battery on the computer with Flash.

I was thinking the first RP would be either an international summit to get to know all the major players (ambassadors, leaders and the like), or the Great Desert War, an alternate Gulf War that spiraled out of control. But we need middle eastern nations for that, and just more nations in general. Let's wait to plan RPs until the map is filled.

Well, it's been a dream of mine to actually RP out my civil war. I guess I can wait until we got more nations.

Will you be able to sketch out what you want in more detail and send it to me by this time tomorrow?

I can certainly do that.

Keep in mind this is a rough-ass map. I'll smooth it out and add detail as people send me maps of their nations.

The red is claimed land, specifically New Corda.

As I had mentioned before, I would prefer the northern area of that African continent, probably south to where that triangle juts into the continent from the east. If that's too much land, then reduce the southern portion; I would prefer to keep the northern portion.

How does a line from the northern tip down to the triangle (with plenty of meandering), with you getting everything to the northeast of the line sound?

I would probably prefer the western side opening to the Atlantic Ocean-equivalent. The planned population is ~300 million, but I was expecting a good deal of the central land to be a Sahara-like desert, so a good deal of it is simply uninhabitable.

Draw your nation for me. You can do it on paper or in paint or whatever, and post a link to the image, and I'll add it to the map. Doesn't need to be any specific color, but I prefer larger resolution images.

Dark blue is what I consider to be the 'base' territory, light blue is the optional extension depending on if its permissible. Most of the center is a giant desert, with a large jungle in the southern regions like the Congo River, and more temperate settlements along the coast and somewhat inland in some areas where rivers are available to sustain the population. The capital lies along the northern coast.

Can you draw a more detailed map of the dark blue region for the final product?

Yeah. Ideally I'd like to know whoever (if anyone) ends up next to me, since then I can ensure that my terrain doesn't suddenly and inexplicably change right over the border. But I've drawn higher-detail maps in the past.

Whoever's next to you will have to roll with what you set up. First come, first served basis in terms of geography.

I was thinking the small island northwest of Australia, but this is up for debate.

Since we seem to be talking about Map-Claims, I'd like to say that I'm not just real picky. As I'd like to play as an Iran-esque nation, I can be put in a similar location, so long as the desert is hot and the people are Persian I should be fine.

The draft of the map put Greenland and baffinsland closer to Europe than I had in mind making my claim far bigger than intended. If it's okay with you Corda I would like the revised version to have the islands closer to America

Those islands were Page's I think. I can add a couple more closer to north America, and shuffle the sizes a bit.

This could functionally work as Page's claim, though I would really like if the Iceland-like thing (the one nearest Nua Corda) could be moved directly under the biggest landmass, both for the fact that it's supposed to be close enough to be connected by a massive causeway (the King Jonathan IV bridge is 1.5 times the length of the bridge over Lake Pontchartrain).

The capital, Andryand, is at the southern tip of the smallest island, and the island would have a climate comparable to Scotland, whereas the upper landmass would have a climate like Finland and the Northeastern island is arctic.

By the way, I get that it is hard to rearrange the map, so to answer the question, can I make this current claim work, yes. But I'd really like the Iceland thing to be moved South and West if you can.

Nua Corda, occurs to me now our nations could have a long history of wars together, though not recently enough that there is bad blood in modern times, just historically. Like England and France, for example, that kind of history. As well as vast influences on each others' cultures, so on, as you mentioned.

I think in modern times, Page is more toward a part of the current order rather than antagonistic, though we retain some degree of neutrality in general.

Lanos would prefer to exercise some influence in NACO just after it finished up its Hobbes City War and recovering from the 14-year civil war. With 2013, my country seeks the current order while retaining both neutrality and acting when it can in order to retain its pretitle as best it can (Independent Nation).

Which reminds me, are we having a UN up in this bitch?
