Aqizithiuda Triggthiuda (nation name)/the Wesi (demonym)
Government: Elective monarchy
Alliance: formerly NACO, but transitioning to the Kursk Concords.
Overview: an alliance of Goths and Sarmatians who were forced by the Huns and Romans to flee to Scandinavia, where they displaced the Vikings and then started formed an Empire that rivalled the Franks. Over the years, the empire has waxed and waned, consisting of most of Puzikas and west Europe prior to WW2. As a result of Hitler fucking up down in Germany - which was essentially it's own country at the time - and the reintroduction of human sacrifices, they lost the war, and only a hasty surrender to Cordian/Emmerian forces saved it from annihilation by the Soviets.

Following the war, paganism was banned and the various priesthoods disbanded. The Cult of Woþin objected and lead an insurgency that lasted until 2005, about ten years after the legalisation of paganism. Triggthiuda has stabilised since then, and now looks to it's neighbour Puzikas for an alliance, but former Wesi insurgents still find their way into the bloodiest and most brutal conflicts around the world.

Fun Facts: Triggthiuda had a modern level of gender equality by 1800, although women have been mostly equal since before the Renaissance, and developed the first general issue assault rifle in 1895. They are also the only nation to officially give hallucinogenic drugs to select troops in order to cause rage, lack of pain and a desire to kill people. These berserkers have been used since at least 600 AD.

Uh, Trans, Glascovia left, so his territory near West Africa is null and void.

So which of the two nations near my southern bloc support Lanos?

Lanos: The Independent Nation of the Republic of Lanos
Government: Federal Constitutional Democratic Republic
Alliances: NACO

Could I join the Pan-Latin Union?

I was just wondering, if enough people were interested, if maybe we could create a Terra Firma-only G&E Thread with business deals between nations and such. Now, if everyone would rather stay basic for now, that is okay, but I just thought it was an idea to put up.

General question to the thread

Who is a nuclear state?

We are not.

PLU is anti-NACO, not actively, but we're definitely pro-Kursk Accords, so, I don't think that'd work out very well.

My thought was you and Bosque would be seeking to control the green nation on the map, Basqaons or whatever I called it. It makes sense your cultures would have mixed there, maybe there's roughly a third of the population wants to be pro-Lanos, a third that want to be pro-Bosque, and a third that don't care or want to be independent., It gives you and the rest of us a playground to intrigue in.

South Bosque might be pro-Lanos by virtue of being Anti-Bosque

Pinkoia is unclaimed, unknown factor, but, if Voltarious would hurry up and post, I think he was going to take it and develop it into something

East and West Bananastan...I'd pictured them as the non-nuclear armed version of North and South Korea, but with a Latin twist. We can NACO and Kursk could proxy through them, if so desired.

I'm not saying "this is how it is!" because when it comes to nations not our own, that's Corda's job, I just think this set up maximizes plot points in South America.

Sure we can do that with the Bananastans but I'd prefer that the East one, the one with the most border with Lanos, be NACO-allied. Bosqueanos can be fought over but I'd rather not be completely surrounded by Licana's border or a Licana-friendly Bosqueanos.

I'm also a nuclear state. 10k warheads or something to that effect. I can reduce if needed.

Thats a boat load of warheads, I think, good Lord.

Also, thats fine, the one closer to you can be NACO backed IF NACO wants to do it. You can personally support it either way.

Probably not. I doubt Emmeria/Corda would have trusted us with nuclear weapons post GW2, and following the collapse of the Soviet Union and increasing international disapproval of nuclear weapons, I doubt Triggthiuda would officially have any. Of course, that's not to say they don't have any, just that they don't have the capability to make them themselves and I doubt anyone would be willing to sell or lease them any.

I'm not a fan of voluntary disarmament of nuclear warheads. Chemical, yes. I could do with a Bananastan war in the 2000s like the Korean War and take control of a not-UN Command.

Lanos:

Read this
http://www.fas.org/programs/ssp/nukes/n ... tatus.html

and tell me 10k is not too many. Are you attempting to play a nation as powerful as the US? I don't know if Puz is claiming to be as powerful as modern Russia, as he has, like, a third of the landmass, though if my geography serves me well, a lot of northern Russia is desolate anyways. I make no claims, as I could be wrong.

1k still might be pushing it. You have no enemies around you that would require that level of deterrent. Like at the sharp decline of warheads from the US to France and think about that for a moment. Why would that be? How much of a world leader do you anticipate your nation being?

In NS, we're all superpowers, here in TF, we aren't all so lucky. :P

I'm trying to figure out how Lanos would be in the world standings. Doesn't seem like anyone else is trying to help me with that. Bosque would be a threat to me depending on how Licana wants to interact. It's about near frustrating to recover from my civil war and enter 2013 still being regarded as irrelevant.

I hope that Bananastan War in the 2000s will give me a chance to improve my world standing.

I'm going under the principal that the revolution sent a mass influx of people to the west.
I gave an exact number. Somewhere in here.
I'm going to be operating 72% of the nuclear weapons. Most of them sub-born and "mobile".

I also need to update my landmass. Ill do that shortly.

While Puz and I may get along well OOCly, ICly, I know Costa Mejis is the butt of man jokes in his nation, and I'm fairly sure that, like all national interactions go, we cooperate because we find, or at the very least he find me, useful. Most other nations in the world view Costa Mejis as a no account state sitting on pretty important real estate

Speaking ICly of course.

Not so much as being politically irrelevant and not long coming out of what was all but a civil war.
