Oh, no. It'll be a solo act, and with no violence or murderous action towards the audience :p Her age (16) will probably be the most controversial thing about the act.

Like I said, it's a solo act. Not that I would have any moral qualms about writing such a performance, but that's just not what I had in mind. No partners, no penetration, mostly no worries :p

Says you. Even if says everybody else, my characters exist in their own little time bubble. I RP them with real world passage of time (Rowan was 'born' 20 April, 2000, and as such she's aged two years since I started playing; Alex doesn't have a birthday, but she was 14 when I started that character also two years ago. Aibell is more recent, but still older, and will age in a similar way. The only exception are the Fae Omega characters, whose age is dependent on the storyline at hand. This being a [presumably] MT event, Aþafera will be 3,116 years old.). They see these events occurring several times a year :)

No, Lymantatia, WorldVision is not held every 5 years, you've just made that up yourself. There is no rule for that, and there will never be one, as it would make things complicated ICly.

1. As usual, we have debuting countries. I remember when I debuted at WV21 and got a Top 10 placing with the same song I entered in WHF, which isn't against the rules.

In WV22, FSSO, Saviera, and Zanania (maybe a few more, I forgot) debuted, the latter eventually claiming the winning place with a margin of a few points (in which, otherwise I would've won).

In WV23, Zavlia, Eireann Fae (is your nation based on Ireland?) and her puppet Fae Omega debuted. Zavlia had a wonderful song (it's tune I still listen to today), Eireann Fae had a heavy metal song and Fae Omega had a rap, I distinctly remember. I think I forgot Fusha Me-Bar.

In WV24, which was the most recent one, there were the Former Folkandish Republics (Folkand didn't return to defend their title, but the artist did) and Warsaljana, the puppet of Folkand and Kishrael (Warsaw + Ljubljana, the capital cities of their respective IRL nations). I voted for FFR Saintrabina (I think), and Warsaljana as well.

Let's see who's planned to debut so far at this contest:

Kazalistan, puppet of Zavlia. Not much to say, I suppose it's based on Central Asia.
Vorarlberga, a puppet of Grandterre. Along with Groteberg and Grandterre, they'll make up the 3 nations coming from the same user.
Romexa, puppet of Vampirum. Wow, a lot of puppets so far.
Paradystopia. He's completely new to the contest, apparently. Hails from the region of Frobarob and doesn't speak Latin (based on his profile). Welcome, and feel free to ask if you have any questions!
Lactatia, a presumably resurrected nation. I've noticed he's posted 2 simple words (aka a one-liner) saying he'll join, which is also his first post. Where have we heard that before? Could it be a puppet? Otherwise, not much to say. Welcome as well.
Why did I make this? I just wanted to look back at recent contests, to refresh the mind; also as a reminder that debuting nations are necessary, otherwise WV would just die out from the 2nd edition. Pointless, I know, but at least it's based on actual RPed events.

2. Speaking of which,
Grandterre wrote:As a remainder, the space between WVs is 5 years.

No. Unless you mean that once every 5 editions, each spot in the committee is open. Which is a whole other thing.

3. Speaking of the committee elections, I'll be nominating myself as Kalosia, not Mediterra.

4. Now, regarding my own entry/national final. It's in the post below.

Even IF it would be RP-wise be possible to do such a thing, it would be 1 year between the contests and certainly not 5 years. We're based on the Eurovision, so then we would also follow Eurovision timelines.

On a unrelated note, Grittonia will be sending in a host bid (how surprising).

It's an island, and the first Human refugees were culturally similar, but after that, not really. Eireann Fae is a very... liberal nation (so far left they're not on any RL nation's charts :-), as this iteration's performance will demonstrate. If an Irish woman represented her nation the way Alex is set to do, she'd probably get burned on a Catholic stake. The blowback Sinead O'Connor got from ripping up the picture of the pope on SNL a couple decades ago (gods I'm old...) would be nothing compared to what would happen to Alexandra if she were representing a similarly conservative nation :p

Kalosia wrote:Eireann Fae had a heavy metal song and Fae Omega had a rap, I distinctly remember.

It was gothic/symphonic metal, not heavy - huge difference! Ozzy Osbourne or Rob Halford would probably spit in your face if you compared their work to Liv Kristine or Tarja :p

Anyway, I just finished writing up Eireann Fae's entry (all I need is the number slot), and ye gods, is it completely different from anything I've done to date. It's quite an outrageous performance, but please don't mistake it for a joke entry! I did work hard on it, and this is totally in-character for Alexandra (as anybody that's witnessed her rather 'rude' (to put it extra nicely) ways in the World Assembly and in a few RPs would agree. Yakostan's WV23 performance and TUE's in the last edition made me laugh and I rather enjoyed them, but this performance is not to be confused with one along those lines.

Now to start on Aþafera...

It's mostly because your nation's name has 'Eireann' in it, really. (Yes, Mediterra was Scandinavian culturally, but that's why I restarted the whole thing and moved to Kalosia.)

Now, regarding the entry announcement, I'll postpone it until I can complete it.

The Bloodbathian Comitee on Culture and the City of Shekta proudly present:

Welcome!

Here in Shekta, we like to do things together. Whether it be with a friend or thousands of citizens, we are always together, through the good and bad. But we also like to sing together! This ideal of togetherness is the basis of our bid for Worldvision 25. So come on! Take a look and see what we have to offer.

The City

Image

The first thing you see, whether it be by air, land, or sea, is the city itself. Shekta was built on the coast of the Typhoon Sea hundreds of years ago. The legacy of our founders lives on in the Old Town, but in recent years, a new area of the city, named Cayabera, has taken center stage, with soaring skyscrapers, trendy restaurants and stores, and a futuristic look. The jurisdiction of Cayabera is also where most of the festivities will take place for this edition of Worldvision. With the new Orion Hotel, guests can stay in world-class accommodations, with the comforts of home at their fingertips, as restaurants of every ethnicity and niche are all near, and cultural performances are held daily in the parks and music halls.

The Festivities

Image

A major part of the city are the festivals. The largest one, occuring in early Feburary, is called Festivelo Las Masquinas, meaning "Festival of the Masquerades", where the entire city shuts down, and organizations perform intricate routines in the streets while wearing the most elaborate masks they can make. It is a popular event for both citizens and tourists, but it's not the only festival. Throughout the year, street fairs, block parties, and celebrations for any and every reason are held, and always keep the city in a happy, cheerful mood. No wonder Shektians are renowned for their hospitality!

The Outdoors

Image

Here in Shekta, we love to explore. Whether it be to the surreal Sogyepo Forest, or to the seaside to enjoy the sand and surf, the outdoors is the place to be. There are always new places to see, things to do and people to meet. You can take a walk on the beach, hike 10,000 feet up Gogaero Mountain, go fishing in the Typhoon Sea or even bungee-jump off Hellas Bridge! No matter your interests, there's always something waiting outside your door.

The Arts

Image

If you're not an outdoorsy person, there are loads of places to go to fill your needs. The Harrington Museum Complex is a cluster of 8 museums, ranging from Science to Modern Art and everything in between, in the middle of Cayabera. Numerous art galleries like Aveni Pidoxo, and the new ShektaLive music stages scattered around the city are a perfect place to have a picnic and watch up-and-coming acts from around the nation.

The Food

Image

Now that you're out on the town, why not try some food? Shekta is a major destination for seafood lovers, with fish abound in all shapes, sizes and forms. From small shrimp served on a stick to the prize catch ready to serve a hungry crowd, there's something from the ocean on every corner. But we're not only known for our exceptional seafood; we Shektians pride ourselves for having a wide variety of international food, with over 100 nations represented on the Shektian food scene. Comfort food from home is just a walk away!

The Relaxation

Image

The day is done, you've toured the city, ate some delicious food, but now, you just need a break! No fear, because Shekta is the place for all your comfort needs. Whether it be a world-class hotel, an up-and-coming hostel or a day at the spa, all your troubles are relieved here. Shekta, famous for our fish rub massages and exceptional service, can handle big and small needs. New hotels are popping up across the city, with themes ranging from vintage to modern, mainstream to hipster. Whatever your preference, you know you can kick back and relax here in Shekta.

The Venue

Image

The day has come, it's showtime! The bidding venue is VECI Arena, set in the beautiful Old Town Shekta. This venue has hosted numerous concerts and sporting events since its opening in 2009. With a capacity of 35,000 spectators, it provides a surreal experience, and lets people from all nations enjoy the wonders of Worldvision live. VECI Arena is equipped with a retractable roof in case of inclement weather, and has accommodations for spectators with special needs. With a sleek design, top-of-the-line ammenities and more, VECI Arena will be a great symbol for Shekta and the nation on the world stage.

The Show

Image

Now to the show itself. The stage is to be like one never seen on Worldvision. It's based on a 18th Century Shektian building, with a castle-like facade and intricate detailing. Numerous stairs, walkways and windows are the perfect place to pull a surprise on the viewers, or enhance your performance with little details, like Shektians do with their buildings. However, you may ask, "Where are the big screens? How will we see?" Well, not seen in this picture, but on both sides of the stage are two large rectangular screens. The floor can also be illuminated. Rumor has it the stage has some surprises hidden inside...you'll have to find out on the big night what they are!

The Theme

Image

This editions theme will be "Together We Sing As One" Bloodbathians are known for their welcoming, family-like qualities, and they always do activities in groups or with friends. Whether it be dance, shop, play, or whatever else you may do, we do it together. But only one voice is needed to make a statement, and that is the voice of the people. You can't have Worldvision without the "world", and everyone watching is a part of it, as you will see later in the show. People's voices have brought change to nations, shifted cultural values, and changed the world. Let's carry on this tradition with Worldvision 25.

The Logo
Image

The logo, created by EnVision, embodies the theme as well as a common worldwide message. The people holding onto each other symbolize togetherness, and together they form a bridge. A bridge for peace. A bridge between cities and nations. Teamwork and hard effort connect the people involved, and bridges connect people to where they need to go. These details make the logo simple, stunning and effective.

Thank you for supporting the Shekta bid for WV 25!

Sincerely,

Tova McQueen, President of Bloodbath Generation
Lorraine McCavanah, Head of the Bloodbathian Culture and Tourism Comitee
Ari Govako, Mayor of Shekta
Joppu Leplad, Shektian Culture Advisor
