Well, one of these parodies I remember was the Savieran entry from a few editions ago. Would you consider these lyrics different and original enough?

Well actually the entry disqualified was no parody...

it was the exact lyrics of an original song.... complete plagiarism and was determined by the committee as disqualified. They were given a chance to present an entirly new entry but never followed up on this opportunity... and therefore were ineligble to vote or be voted for

New Ecopia.... The entry disqualified this edition that is in question. My point is that New Ecopia's entry was no parody... the lyrics were a clear rip off from an actual song. So you can discuss parodies being similar all you like...but the fact is that this was no parody.... it was copying lyrics

Hi there! If someone wonders why I've been away (and will continue to be), follow the link in my signature.

Came here for some things....

1. Thank you all for the good places Worszary and Costa Fiero have until the moment. I did not officially participate in WV, but I was involved in the creational process of both songs; so thank you for valuing something that was partially my work (translation to Italian in Worsz's case; new song version in Spanish in CF's case).

2. Euskirribakondara will be back in WV28 (I think that's where we'll be by August).

3. Congratulations also to Polk, Lymyrk and Kish, two other songs I really liked (haven't seen ALL the songs, though)

4. I may be back for some comments around mid-May, you know, for Eurovision. My favourites: the Netherlands, San Marino, Israel, France, Greece, Sweden and Belarus (in that order). And the lowest entries in my ranking.... Lithuania, Romania and Albania.

5. What was the April Fools' Joke this year in NS? I obviously missed it. But I've been wondering what it was.

A 'Zombie Apocalypse". Basically, everybody's nations got taken over by a zombie infestation 8)

Anyway, I read your OOC explanation, and I completely understand. I wish you the best of luck in being accepted into the university in Brazil (Or Spain, whichever one is your preference) - although, you should've gone to Russia instead  .

Hahaha, I also wanted Russia... But the fact I'm an underage Colombian was the biggest obstacle; and I won't sit around waiting because if I don't study by 2014; I'll be taken by the Army in compulsory conscription :o

Those were completely different, by all means. Also, I remember this tune because I used that for 'that' entry(Hint: WV24). But moving on.....

Oh no... Come. Colombia is far better for tourists than it is for Colombian nationals.

Ironic, isn't it?

Committee, please can you set a deadline. There were calls for one a few pages back and you haven't set one.

You've had time to disqualify votes, so why not a deadline also? And besides, there are only 11 countries to vote now.

We agreed a while back that the deadline would be the 20th. I already sent reminder TG's to those who still have yet to vote.

My life has been insanely hectic of late, and as such I've only been able to read a handful of the performances. There are days where I don't see NS at all :(

Anyway, as a result of such, I'm afraid I'm going to have to just post reciprocal votes. Not my favourite practice (as I've indicated before), but I don't have time to give the RP a proper review and do the songs justice. I'll post EF and FO's votes tomorrow.

While I'll be thanking you all tomorrow with points for yourselves, I'd like to take a moment now and thank all those who have thus far granted Eireann Fae 39 pts and Fae Omega 22. I wasn't really expecting that kind of support for a stripper performance, but I guess Alex is just that much prettier than Aþafera ;) Special shout-outs to Lymryk Isles and Worszary, for yall's 12-pt donations!

Ah right, okay. I know we had agreement from Chenk, but we didn't get actual committee approval as far as I recall.
