The first ever election in Ayrshire is taking place.
Here is the political compass of the parties:
Image

Facts on the parties and candidates:
Labour- Socialist:
Leader: Faigus O'Connor.
Age: 68
Party Ideology: Traditionalist, Socialist, Left-Wing, Authoritarian
Leaders story: Born in Workington, Cumbria, he grew up in a very working-class environment. this led him to start supporting socialism. he has had the idea for a party since 2000, in the attempted coup. since then, he has campaigned for a constitutional monarchy, and now that he has one, he would love to lead it.
Stance on issues:
Military: Continue naval blockade of Benomia, keep military size as it is.
Economy: Encourage growth of the public sector.
immigration: let in 1000 or less bigtopians a year, other immigration stays as it is.

Liberals- Left-Leaning:
Leader: Tomas Zlazsky
Age: 40
Party Ideology: progressionalist, Left-Leaning, Left-Wing, Libertarian.
Leaders Story: The leader of this party has only been Ayrshirean since March, when West Bordurian was conquered. A passionate politician, he has assisted in the rebuilding of the West Bordurianese provincial capital, Ostrava. he has risen quickly through the ranks of the liberal party, and will lead them in the coming election. he has recently become an Ayrshirean citizen.
Stance on issues:
Military: Try to find diplomatic solution to Benomian war.
Economy: Send trade requests to at least 5 new countries a year
immigration: allow in 15% more asians, 10% more arabians, 10% more africans, and 8% more europeans.

Military- Conservative
Leader: James McMillan
Age: 50
Party ideology: Traditionalist, Conservative, Right-Wing, Authoritarian.
Leaders story: James was a member of the first Ayrshirean military force to arrive in East Oileann. Promoted to the rank of Captain, he led negotiations that led to Ayrshire claiming the second largest sector of the island. Now, he is part of a group of Oileannish people who have set up the military party. If this party is elected, the monarchy will be abolished, and James will come to power to lead the army to further victories.
Stance on issues:
Military: Increase military spendin by 15%
Economy: close trade with nations that denounce the regime.
Immigration: put a 10,000 a year cap on immigration.

Racist- Right-Leaning:
Leader: Nicholas Girder
Age: 60
Party ideology: Traditionalist, Right-Leaning, Right-Wing, Authoritarian
Leaders Story: Hailing from local Scotland, Nicholas is extremely patriotic. he grew up in Glasgow, where he participated in the 1998 race riots. Since then, he has become well respected by nationalists, and will be leading their party this election. If he comes to power, all foreigners without citizenship will be deported, and international relations will deteriorate with all but the other near-fascist countries.
Stance on views:
military: Increase military budget by 4%. attack and destroy Benomia.
Economy: get new trade agreements, and pressure those who disagree with the party not to engage in warfare.
Immigration: Stop all immigration. Deport all foreigners with no citizenship.

East Ayrshirean Independence:
Leader: Kevin Dathersby
Age: 51
Party Ideology: Progressionalist, Left-Leaning, Left-Wing, Authoritarian
Leaders story: Kevin used to be content with being a part of the glorious empire, but after the 1998 riots, he and other East Ayrshireans campaigned for independence. they did not want to be part of a nation that riots so often, and has such a warlike nation. this has led to the stereotype that east ayrshireans are roman cowards. if Kevin comes to power, he will effective imemdiately secure east ayrshirean independence.

The winner will be announced on the 10th. until then, Ayrshirean 1 will bring you all the latest on this thread

Your test scores indicate that you are an open-minded progressive; this is the political profile one might associate with a journalist. It appears that you are skeptical towards religion, and have a generally optimistic attitude towards humanity in general.
Your attitudes towards economics appear communist, and combined with your social attitudes this creates the picture of someone who would generally be described as a humanist.
To round out the picture you appear to be, political preference aside, a sensible realistic egalitarian with several strong convictions.

From ayrshirean 1:
Hello, welcome to the news at midnight. Our top story is that in the first ever ayrshirean election, the military party are running away with the vote. 59% have voted for them. Their biggest challengers are the liberals with 17%. labour are performing below expectations, with 12%, the racist party have 6%, as do the easy ayrshirean independence party.

In other news, the war on asia continues as the country we are defending has been occupied. Our grand fleet will blockade Phuket in 6 days.

That's about all from me right now, over to Sharon with ElectionWatch. Have a pleasant new day."

The United Socialist States of Ryaanistan is shocked by the growing number of military supporters. We must ask why this is for anyone who has voted military.

We would support the Liberal Party, having similar ideals socially, especially on immigration, and on foreign affairs.

From Ayrshirean 1:
"hello, and welcome to the news at 22:00. Our top story is obviously the first elections, which have one more day to go until the winner is announced. So get voting! Right now, the military party maintain a close lead with 42% of the vote. However it is no longer a majority and the liberals, with 33%, are catching them up fast. The socialist labour party, however, are lagging behind, with 11%, the same as the East Ayrshirean Independence Party, who are surprisingly popular. The racist party are the laughing stock of the election, with 3% of the vote. The international community is apparently shocked that James McMillan and his Militaristic party are going to take power, not to mention abolish the monarchy. This is Ayrshirean 1 News, telling it like it is, and before we go to ElectionWatch, here's Seumas with the news on the war front."
