While he was waiting with Elizbia for the rest of his family to leave Prince Maximus noticed the Phoenixian girl waiting near him. Seeing as she had been looking at him for some time now Maximus decided to see what she was interested in him for, considering they had never even met. He walked over to her, wearing a neutral expression. "Excuse me miss, is there something you wanted from me?" Maximus asked Hilde.

She grinned, that took less time then expected.
" Well I'm not interested per se, I'm just curious why a handsome looking prince like yourself is rather with his family and not with a handsome girlfriend that would suite him." At that moment she decided to drop the acting and went serious.

"Yes," Sariah replied. She gazed at the inside of the temple, her eyes expressing interest. "This is a lovely structure," she commented. "It is very much like the temple in Vriknstein. Of course, this one is inside the tree, a rather significant difference. But still, I find it impressive." She fidgeted with her cape for a bit, her eyes still scanning the walls. "So how is the wedding meant to go? I've never seen one before."

The Queen nodded to Attleham. "The Wood Elves enjoy making nature and architecture work in harmony. The temple is inside this tree but the tree is still living and growing. The Wood Elves are truly marvelous at this type of construction." The queen said with a smile.

His mother had taught him well how to deal with angry or jealous women, so he felt under no pressure from Hilde. "And yes, I suppose it could get messy if her family got involved .." Maximus chuckled a little before continuing.

"After all, if they did indeed kill me for offending their daughter, things would get messy. For them," Maximus couldn't help laughing some more. "Honestly, do you think any nation in the entire Aluvean would be foolish enough to assassinate the Third Prince of the Constannian Imperial Line? Which country would be mad enough to declare war against arguably the most powerful empire in this whole region?" The prince asked.

I wouldn't dream of forcing you into a romance with one of my in-laws, so why are you?" If I recall correctly my 'fiance' want to challenge you in a duel of swords. They don't 'assassinate' you, they are murdering you in a honor duel.
Secondly, what ever happens between you and Sakura, she's devastated, she's love-sick and she don't know what to think, she blamed herself for what happens and partly she may right but you don't understand elf traditions. Marriage is natural for elven royals because of a course they can never take a partner before they are married with them. I'm not forcing you into anything but I know there is something into you that cares for her, you shouldn't surpress it.
Also think about this, Sakura is a elf, she will outlife you, it must take much more then only interest in you to consider a relationship the first hand and whatever she had done, she deserved honest feelings. At least talk with her..."

"It's like your weddings, in that it involves a pledge of eternal loyalty and is a very important part of our culture, but they tend to be very rare. Essentially one person will kneel before another and pledge their eternal loyalty, swearing to serve and protect that person until death. In return, the person being sworn to agrees not to abuse their pledge or abandon the one offering it. It is... somewhat of a romantic notion among my people. It very rarely happens, and the pledge is a result of such loyalty and devotion that most of my race will never experience. As far as I know, it has only happened a handful of times in all our history." She fidgeted, clearly uncomfortable with where this conversation had gone. "And the fact that her people are chaste before marriage doesn't have much impact on me. So are my people, in fact everyone is, not just the royalty. Just because I may like her as a friend doesn't mean I'm ready to marry her. Yes, it might be sad for her. It's hard when someone you love leaves you, trust me, I know," Maximus thought of Mara, how she was forced into an arranged marriage to a stranger just to appease her country's neighbours. "But I'm not going to lie and court her if I have no intention of marrying her. I might be an arrogant ass at times, but I'm not a monster,"

"Well, after this war the plan was for myself to abdicate the throne to Leona and Russell, but for the sake of themselves it would probably be best if I stay on for a year or so afterwords to help with the transition. And Lord Francis, that would give you plenty of time to find your replacement to lead the Imperium's military in your position, right?" As Tiberius paused for a moment, Francis responded back to his emperor's question. "A year will allow me to find and train a suitable replacement for the position, milord. Either way, as long as I am with my wives and not fighting, I can agree to that." As they finished their conversation, the carriage arrived back to the palace........

"And finally "I may have some romantic feeling for her. But here's the thing- I have that for plenty of women. You think she's the first, or the last woman I'll be attracted to?" Maximus stated, his oak brown eyes looking straight into Hilde's eyes. " I'm not some shining virtuous knight who's only had feelings for one woman his entire life? Well, I'm not. I flirt with plenty of women, and Sakura ended up being one of them,"

The topic of time, however, made Leona become serious and somewhat frightened as she spoke to Russell. "My love, when I told you I had dragonblood running through my veins, I did not mention the effects it has on me. The reason why I want you to have this gift is because as of now I will outlive you by centuries as I will live for millenium and not in years. I don't want to outlive you so I am pleading with you now to accept this gift I offer to you. Please Russell, I don't want to live for centuries after you are dead, I want you by my side through all of these years." As Leona paused for a moment, she started to tear up as she retrieved a vile of red liquid from her purse.
