Seeing as she had been looking at him for some time now Maximus decided to see what she was interested in him for, considering they had never even met. He walked over to her, wearing a neutral expression. "Excuse me miss, is there something you wanted from me?" Maximus asked Hilde.

Jothastein wrote:"Of course." He said, offering his arm to the Jothan princess. The couple made their way down to a bunch of white carriages. They boarded the carriages and took a small trip to the giant tree that was the Temple. As they entered the temple, Sariah had all the opportunity to see the natural beauty of the temple. Once they where seated, Jarwyn turn to Sariah and smiled. "You feeling better today Sariah?"
"Yes," Sariah replied. She gazed at the inside of the temple, her eyes expressing interest. "This is a lovely structure," she commented. "It is very much like the temple in Vriknstein. Of course, this one is inside the tree, a rather significant difference. But still, I find it impressive." She fidgeted with her cape for a bit, her eyes still scanning the walls. "So how is the wedding meant to go? I've never seen one before."

Well there two ceremonies today. One for the Constannian prince and one for princess Marina. In our ceremony the couple pledge their love before the gods and have their souls joined. It's truly a wonderful thing." Jarwyn said proudly. Their was a question that was plague Jarwyn mind, but he didn't wanted to say it yesterday. Now he figure after the event he would never get the chance. He lean over and whisper into Sariah ear. "Sariah you said you condition is cause by a young in you draining your life. Are you carrying a young now?"

"I am an archetect by training so this temple and this city will be interesting to me." the Mcnernian party walked into the temple.
Attleham looked over the temple with a weither eye. He was a architect by training. "Would Your Majesty answer if the temple we now stand in is a grown tree?" "Milord Attleham I am sure it is." Both men were dressed in the finery expected of a senior member of the Peerage. A suit of find cloth with various orders and the King wore his red uniform as Lord Marshall of the Army. They waited together for the ceremony.

" Well I'm not interested per se, I'm just curious why a handsome looking prince like yourself is rather with his family and not with a handsome girlfriend that would suite him." At that moment she decided to drop the acting and went serious.
" Like a devastated elf maiden who is interestingly my future sister in law. Be grateful that I found you first. I know things could be quite messy with the elves involved but you hurt her you know ? I simply want to know why..."

The Queen nodded to Attleham. "The Wood Elves enjoy making nature and architecture work in harmony. The temple is inside this tree but the tree is still living and growing. The Wood Elves are truly marvelous at this type of construction." The queen said with a smile.

Constaniana wrote:Maximus simply looked at Hilde for a moment before he answered her.
"Ah, you must be talking about Princess Sakura. Well, for starters I don't exactly consider her marriage material, especially considering how little I really know her. I am aware that her feelings say that I'm the man destined to marry her, but I'd prefer to go with my judgement on whether to spend the rest of my life with someone," He answered with complete calmness. His mother had taught him well how to deal with angry or jealous women, so he felt under no pressure from Hilde. "And yes, I suppose it could get messy if her family got involved .." Maximus chuckled a little before continuing.
"After all, if they did indeed kill me for offending their daughter, things would get messy. For them," Maximus couldn't help laughing some more. "Honestly, do you think any nation in the entire Aluvean would be foolish enough to assassinate the Third Prince of the Constannian Imperial Line? Which country would be mad enough to declare war against arguably the most powerful empire in this whole region?" The prince asked.
"While I don't bear truly malicious intent towards Sakura, I'm not interested in a courtship with her right now, and I may never be. I wouldn't dream of forcing you into a romance with one of my in-laws, so why are you?" Maximus asked accusingly, his hands behind his back as he stood more erect, looking at Princess Hilde with an eyebrow raised.

Kingdom of Phoenixia wrote:Hilde sighted, obviously something happened between them.
" First off, this elves are the strangest guys you will ever meet. This elf tribe in special, they are driven by traditions we would call medieval. That means quite a few things. First of all they don't give their love lightly and hurting them on that is considered one of the most evil acts you can do. If I recall correctly my 'fiance' want to challenge you in a duel of swords. They don't 'assassinate' you, they are murdering you in a honor duel.
Secondly, what ever happens between you and Sakura, she's devastated, she's love-sick and she don't know what to think, she blamed herself for what happens and partly she may right but you don't understand elf traditions. Marriage is natural for elven royals because of a course they can never take a partner before they are married with them. I'm not forcing you into anything but I know there is something into you that cares for her, you shouldn't surpress it.
Also think about this, Sakura is a elf, she will outlife you, it must take much more then only interest in you to consider a relationship the first hand and whatever she had done, she deserved honest feelings. At least talk with her..."

After all, we are the living embodiments of our land, our people, their glory and honour and pride. And I'm no stranger to swordfighting, in fact I could probably beat your future husband, even if he does have a few more decades of practice than me..well, provided that he doesn't cheat with some enchanted sword or try to put hexes on me like Sakura's tried," Maximus answered crossing his arms.
"And the fact that her people are chaste before marriage doesn't have much impact on me. So are my people, in fact everyone is, not just the royalty. Just because I may like her as a friend doesn't mean I'm ready to marry her. Yes, it might be sad for her. It's hard when someone you love leaves you, trust me, I know," Maximus thought of Mara, how she was forced into an arranged marriage to a stranger just to appease her country's neighbours. "But I'm not going to lie and court her if I have no intention of marrying her. I might be an arrogant ass at times, but I'm not a monster,"
