But is Netherlands really known for its ice?

Well, not for ice cream, but for ice; kind of. We've got the best speed skaters in the world and probably we are the country were people do the most things with ice like skating etc., but we're not icy or extremely cold.

And we've got ourselves the worst JESC winner ever.

Ukraine was GREAT! That child was so intimidating, and at least not as horrible and stupid as that fucking limonade song. Ooo, I hate the songs of Georgia.

Agreed. And, yes, the kid was a little bit off... but I'm still happy for her!

I've been through 3 competitions today (the school's film festival, the Indonesia vs Malaysia soccer match, and JESC) but neither who I rooted for won.

My top 3:
Georgia
Russia
Israel

Ukraine. I don't agree on their win either.

Anastasiya was totally awesome! The best junior performance and voice ever! I don't understand Georgia's second place - this entry wasn't that good. Russia too low. Armenia a bit too high. Azerbaijan too low, too. But it's not important. The most important is that finally my favourite entry has won the Eurovision! <3 <3 <3

There has been a Junior Eurovision since 2003.

I thought Ukraine was good. But Russia deserved to win.

Is a there a website of the Junior Eurovision where you can listen to all the songs? Because I've tried the Dutch website but I couldn't find it for the love of God.

Israel is part of the EBU.

Also, Israel's too awesome, and everyone else around it is jealous of its western support, so they're all like: "Israel go Europe, you westerners!"

And then Israel's like, "Fine." - 'Cause their cool

But really it's just the first part, and culturally, Israel is sort of European.

If you are part of the EBU and your country is in the European broadcasting zone, then you can participate in Eurovision.

most countries in Middle east and north africa are eligible to participate. But they don't usually because they refuse to recognise Israel as a participant (in Lebanon's case... it is illegal to do so there)

True. Tunisia was to participate in 1977 but withdrew. The only Arabic country that did paticipate was Morocco in 1980. But bad placing + Israel = withdraw.

Israel is not awesome. I'm so glad that the UN has finally recognised Palestine as an observer state. But in the voting, Croatia abstained -.-

Oooh Cro, don't get me started on this :D

Israel is the only true democracy in the middle-east, it is a bastion of the west if you like. It has come under constant attack from almost every Muslim state (bar a few, like Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan etc.) yet it still stands. Hamas has been continuously launching rockets into Israeli territory, and with increasing technology, these rockets now began to encroach on large cities, like Tel-Aviv. Why should the Israeli nation put up with these harmful rockets in their territory.

These continued attacks on innocent Israeli's do not merit an increase in recognition for Palestine. Although, it doesn't really matter though, it's only ceremonial, and it begs the question, why do 62 countries not recognise Palestine, these including the most powerful country in the world, while predominantly Muslim countries only don't recognise Israel. I'd say they're jumping on the bandwagon.

Of course everyone is entitled to their opinion, but as far as I'm concerned, the Palestinian government is little more than a state governed by terrorist factions.

Yes, I totally agree with you. It is democracy and everything. BUT, it doesn't mean they can bomb cities and kill innocent people with their rockets! And the nation of Palestine has every right to exist because if I'm not wrong in 1967(?) Israel occupied their territorry. So aye.
