Now, lets assume for one moment that somehow, you circumnavigate the issue of the Space Navy; most of the military is still within the Country itself. So lets assume you go straight for the Heartlands; you are dealing with an area where even a small town has more anti-aircraft installations in it than it has people, where armed militias have air forces larger than those in smaller countries and where the people not in an armed militia are still technically proficient enough with the sixteen or so weapons they own (at least in their own home) that you will be taking heavy casualties no matter what happens.

Oh no I'm so scared. First of all, we're playing MT. Meaning your technology is limited to satellites and whatever we have now. So your space navy don't fly cowboy. As for your resistance. I've encountered tougher men. I've fought against Kraven Corporation. They have more weapons per capita than I have people. So you blustering about how big your e-peen is doesn't scare me. I could honestly care less.

Do you actually think your original? I mean seriously. Do you honestly think your the first person to have all your people trained and proficient in weapons? I mean seriously, I've encountered players whose citizens drive tanks to work. I've encountered players whose civilians own private fighter jet armies. I've encountered players whose civilians legally have to carry firearms. You've managed a year on nationstates. I've been wasting a large portion of my life on this website for the past 4 years. I've encountered players who made even me do a double take. Do you think your actually original? I mean seriously, for all your blustering, you haven't provided one "Oh no I'm super scary you can't invade me" reason I haven't encountered and overcame before. Players like Doomingsland and Kraven put even me to shame.

Now as I've said before, if you resist, I just murder everyone. If you don't and you accept occupation, I pretty much let you do as you like. Most people choose the second option. The people who chose the first option end up having large portions of their population disappear. I have no quarrels with just murdering everyone and sending slaves to stripmine all your resources. I've done it before and I can do it again.

If Tl;dr: I will not accept any complete occupations of anybody as an end result to this conflict, unless everybody involved dies.

3. Play your time period. If it's MT it's MT.

The fact that your alliance can't follow those three rules is a real reflection on it's membership and could actually be the reason why your older members are leaving in droves. Other than that though, the only real rule I made was to Virana in "let's not destroy all our space shit."

Really, do you think I'd resort to nukes from day 1? I'm merely pointing out that it is common RL MT practice to have nuclear deterrents for a reason. Therefore, unless we're going to put some restriction on end-games so the question of MAD doesn't arise; we can't logically put restrictions on the use of nuclear weapons as a last resort.

I'm merely stating that it would be impossible for Libraria and Ausitoria to participate without being able participate fully (with nukes as a last resort, if necessary). If there might be a problem with this, because we might actually get to the point where I would need to RP such a last resort, it would be better to have it clarified first.

On the other hand, if we're never going to get to the point of last resort, but only limit both sides to blockades and trying destroying our enemy's capability for intervening outside their own country, then the question of mutually assured destruction wouldn't matter.

Hence my request for clarification of the RP rules.

I'm not arguing, only asking, because the rule I follow for all RPs involving Libraria and Ausitoria is to keep it realistic. And realism might regrettably involve nuclear strikes if there isn't an alternative.

Number 1 is not particularly realistic. When nations face national annihilation the use of strategic weapons becomes a viable strategy. Israel has the 'Sampson Option' in which it plans to nuke all its neighbours if it looks like it is likely to go under. Pakistan has a similar strategy vis a vis India due to the big disparity in military power and i bet North Korea has something similar planned as well. That's why nations develop second strike capabilities: if Britain is wiped, for example, the four SSBNs of the Royal Navy may be ordered to retaliate and flatten the attacking country (depending on the sealed orders on board).

I thought the point of RPing was to write a good story regardless of who comes out on top. Arguing who is going to win is pointless since it's just big population, old nation, or just techwank your shit. It's a pointless argument.
