PM ramps up pressure against Rodarion.

Ian Davies' party has dropped in opinion polls to an all-time low, with the Unity Party taking first place in the opinion polls.
With the elections due later this year, this may swing things entirely in their favour.

Isn Deslen, Belfras - PM davies appeared eager to continue jousting with his opposite, President Ceausescu, on friday morning when he greeted us all prior to beginning his conference. In this conference he appeared to call out Ceausescu for his position and highlighted the growing level of isolation Rodarion is facing.

"In Rodarion, we have a power-hungry and corrupt leader [President Ceausescu] who is leading his country down a one-way street. He's already passed the point of no return with relations to our country, but he's ruining his chances at a prosperous future on this continent. It is clear that our embargo has had no impact on their decision to support the barbaric Tarsan invasion of Mardullah. Consequently we're going to be appealing to our allies in Nova Caledonia and the Spherian Coalition to join us in our embargo against Rodarion. Given the fact that Nova Caledonia are part of the Triumvirate, we expect our main issue will be convincing our allies in the Spherian Coalition."

On the matter of the impending hostilities between Rodarion and the SSN, PM Davies viewed the situation with "extreme caution." he went on to say that "The official opinion of the Kingdom of Belfras is that Rodarion herself is conducting these atrocities inside of the Social State. We will be watching Rodarion very closely. Their stance and certainly President Ceausescus words about the Natalian people being downtrodden seems to be very self-rhetorical. We have absolutely zero faith in our southern neighbours government after their more recent conduct and then controversial U-turns before going down this path of self destruction. President Ceausescu has also actively threatened the safety of our countries with this threat of us, apparently, reaping what we have sown. We'll be treating this as an active threat from Ceausescu and subsequently will be taking steps to ensure the continued safety of our citizens."

Davies words about taking steps for the safety of Belfrasians have not yet rung hollow. Formation orders for several Provincial Defence Force units have been issued along the border and we have been informed that several border posts have been reinforced. The temperature along the border has chilled to a degree that most people we have met being certain that a conflict was unavoidable. In a move that will surely ignite arguments, womens rights group 'One race' has started several abortion clinics near the Rodarion Border unofficially, with medical officials saying that they're offering free abortions to Rodarion citizenry. Spokeswoman of the group, Irina Virikolov, said that "everyone has the right to their own choices. If a woman wants an abortion, she has the right to do so. If it is against god, then god is wrong."

In the village of Kest, a renowned Muslim community led by Imam Koldale, several clinics and hospices have been opened. In Imam Koldales own words, it is "to offer those oppressed in Rodarion their rights. Their rights are very, very simple; To live. To be free and to choose their own path." Imam Koldale has recently had his name put forward by the Islamic Council for the position of Grand Imam, the highest position the Islamic community offers inside of Belfras. His actions for humanitarian aid toward fleeing Rodarions and his help in creating equal opportunities for everyone has shoved him into the spotlight, with his town of Kests population skyrocketing in recent years.

"It is really rather surprising." Imam Koldale said with a smile. "Our peaceful town of around five-thousand has doubled since 2010, we're focusing on getting a larger Mosque and a Catholic church erected along the high-street, but so far we're going ahead with a garden that'll be focused toward promoting equality. We have a prayer area for Muslims, a play area, a small market, and more. I'm really excited about this opportunity. We have several hospices opening up for people fleeing Rodarion death camps or the Orducii, forces of evil."

Rodarion takes counter measures to Belfras PM's self interested actions

Foreign Minister Titus Corlățean - "If Prime Minister Ian Davies thinks escalating this situation will see his relection, I do pray that he is slaughtered at the polls"

Foreign Minister Titus Corlățean speaking to journalists in the lobby of the Foreign Ministry declared today that Rodarion was taking several measures to counter the moves taken by Belfrasian Prime Minister Ian Davies, aimed to securing his party's relection in the coming year. Yesterday the Belfrasian PM declared that he will seek out Caledonian and Spherian support for embargoes against the Papal Republic, to which the Foreign Minister slammed as actions of a selfish and shortsighted individual. Minister Corlățean broke protocol and blasted the PM, "If Prime Minister Ian Davies thinks escalating this situation will see his relection, I do pray that he is slaughtered at the polls". Minister Corlățean also slammed the PM's poisonous comments about the scandal over the Repentance Camps and the Orducii, "Neither are forces of evil, the situation over the Camps is being investigated by Parliament and will act decisively upon the findings, as for the Orducii, they are the guardians and foundation of our society, not that Davies would understand since he does not see past his own personal enviroment".

However, Minister Corlățean declared a shocking statement in which Rodarion will take several moves aimed at countering the Belfrasian wild moves. As such, Rodarion will withdraw it's ambassadors and close its embassy in Isn Deslen, the Belfrasian Embassy will also be vacated under arms and all Belfrasian diplomats escorted to Pope Julius II Airport then flown home. The Minister then explained that all Belfrasian assets in Rodarion will be frozen, all Belfrasians who have stock in Rodarian companies will also be frozen. The border will be closed for the foreseeable future and any attempt to cross will be faced with harsh punishments. All Belfrasians currently in Rodarion will be escorted to the border and deported home. Sanctions will also be placed on senior Belfrasian officials including Prime Minister Davies.

But the main shattering move came towards the end of the statement, which was that the Rodarian Exclusive Economic Zone in the Draganesti Sea was being enlarged to cover claimed areas, which takes away some 32% of Belfras's southern EEZ. All current Rodarian exports of steel, chemicals and other raw materials will be halted and instead transferred to Premislyd following the signing of the Treaty of Constanţine. Minister Corlățean finished his statement with a warning.

"We have been gratious, we offered our hand in reconciliation to Isn Deslen, we apologised for various incidents but all went on deaf ears, they then place embargoes on us, they have little effect due to the economic disparity between Rodarion and Belfras, we are wealthier and more diverse and economically stronger, let Prime Minister Davies damage his own nation through his quest for personal power and prestige".

Some economists estimate that Belfrasian assets in Rodarion are worth around $5.6 billion, all of which will be made inaccessable to anyone and only accessable to Government officials. The decision to expand the EEZ to historical claim sizes is seen more of a gesture than a pratical move, as it would require the entry of Rodarian fishing vessels into the Belfrasian EEZ which would lead to a serious confrontation, regardles the MoDSS (Ministry of Defence and State Security) stated it will deploy four new Crusader class destroyers to the Draganesti Sea early.

Several Orducii members were arrested yesterday also for posting racist remarks about Imam Kodale, three were arrested this morning for plotting several violent acts against Belfrasians in Rodarion. General Superior Emilian Radulescu has called for calm among the Orducii Orders asking for restraint against the 'obvious evil that exists to the north'. Several Orducii Cells have been spotted around the Belfrasian border putting up posters and billboards calling for PM Davies' judgement before God. Several MPs and Cardinals have spoken out against Belfras, saying they're using every tension around Rodarion as a source for blame on Rodarion, yesterday President Ceausescu denied any Rodarian involvement in the Natalian crisis. The Order for Christian Prosperity (a nationalist pressure group) has even blamed Belfras for support the Social State in it's oppression of the Rodarian minority in the west of the SSN.

The new policy will take effect at 5pm this afternoon.

Isn Deslen, Belfras - In reaction to shock news from Rodarion that they would be forcibly deporting Belfrasians from their country, including the armed incursion of the Embassy and the increase of the Rodarions claim in the Draganesti to include 32% of Belfrasian waters was met with anger. The Draganesti Fleet, formally known as the Thirteenth Fleet, has been seen arming its armada of Nereids with their formidable Foreganger missiles whilst the older Karzelek Destroyers have already left port. The Nereid Corvettes are formidable Altrenian-designed warships that can carry the three million NSD Foreganger supersonic missile that is used in the anti-shipping arena.

At a similar time, the Fifth Army along the Rodarion border has been brought to full activation, with local Provincial Defence Force (PDF) regiments being activated in support. The village of Kest, led by Imam Koldale, is being evacuated by the local PDF units. Other towns along the border have been issued notices to evacuate or that units would be setting up to defend them. I was called by a resident of Kest who informed me that the Belfrasian Army had set up artillery on one end of the town and were using trucks to evacuate civilians as fast as they could, with one soldier saying "If you want to live, you'll evacuate."

With this sudden surge in activity along the borders and at the naval ports in the Draganesti came a statement from PM Ian Davies, who maintained a grave tone whilst speaking. I could note that, during the statement, armed personnel could be seen hidden, as if waiting to prevent any kind of assassination attempt. The tension was pretty high amongst the reporters, including a very unsure looking Rodarion who was comforted by several other reporters. One reporter was told that Rodarion infantry were trying to pass the border, and another that Belfrasian bombers had demolished the Vatican. Everything was uncertain until Davies walked out and started by allaying the fears, with he had heard about.

"I'd like to begin by stating that no hostile action has been taken as of yet. The fifth army and the Draganesti Fleet have ordered to full mobilization and towns in the danger zone are being evacuated. The Golden Palace, after I left, has been sealed and all members of the Royal Family are being recovered and escorted to Sanctuary as soon as time allows. This is a turbulent time and I would like to advise everyone in the Kingdoms territories to remain sure in the Belfrasian way of life. We will defend, we will protect."

PM davies continued.

"The Government of Rodarion have been some grave announcements, backed by equally grave actions. They have claimed 32% of our water in the Draganesti, which includes several oil rigs. They've stormed the Belfrasian Embassy and, at gun-point, forced the staff against their will to leave the country. They are doing similar acts of aggression to all Belfrasians currently inside Rodarion. I have met with the King personally to discuss this matter at great length whilst our delegates to the Triumvirate and the CDI convened an emergency meeting. For myself and His Majesty King James it is without a doubt that the Rodarion Government had committed an act of war against the Kingdom."

"Full measures are being taken to ensure the safety of all civilians within our borders and orders for the full mobilization of the Armed Services is to come within the next few hours." Davies told us, for those who were familiar with the Armed Forces operations knew that the fifth army was the closest to the Rodarion Border and the other armies were at varying levels of readiness. As for the Draganesti Fleet, its Nereids have acted as security cutters in the past, hopefully giving them the training they require in this new crisis.

Davies appeared to stay above the Foreign Minister in his rhetoric, going another way from them by saying that: "Rodarions currently residing within our nation will be forced to submit to an identity check and will have the option to return to their homelands. The Rodarion personnel from their Embassy will be unhindered in their attempts to leave our nation and their Embassy will be sealed off and untempered until their return. Their Embassy is still sovereign Rodarion territory and thus will be treated as such." his attention appeared to refocus and become more hostile to mirror his opposite. "With this act of war from the Rodarion Government, comes the grave new responsibility we must bare. All of our forces are being mobilized in preparation for imminent attack by the Rodarions and we will be inspecting all returning Belfrasians to ensure they are unharmed and that none have been killed."

The Belfrasian Space Agency made an announcement shortly afterward that all operations were being suspended and all in-orbit vehicles were being ordered to deorbit at the nearest opportunity and return to Karven Space Center.

EBONAERVON- In a stunning move of events, Senator Ianuarius Vesnius Marius who is the Chairman of the Tribunal of Military Oversight has launched a full blown rhetorical attack on the theocratic state of Rodarion, crossing a line that many in the Empire refused to do so given the fact that 64% of the Empire remains Catholic.

In a early morning press release outside of his home in the northern regions, Senator Marius woke everyone up in the newsrooms around the world with the following statement " With all due respect that is owed towards the Holy Father, we as a proud nation and people can not allow this purposefully and uninvited agressive rhetoric to continue from their President or their grossly out of place Foreign Minister. This region just averted one crisis, Rodarion itself making peace with a decades-old enemy and then they shatter our children's hopes of peace by instigating this?! We simply can not allow these actions to persist, because they are risking the physical wellbeing of millions and the economic fortune of billions.

In the wake of this refreshed assault on sovereign Belfrasian rights and territory, I urge the Holy Father to make an intervention and save the children of God from mindlessly slaughtering each other, least I'm afraid I'll have to request the Archon to use her powers to back the Kingdom of Belfras with the Empire's full might. Prime Minister Davies can rest assured that this Empire will stand with his people."

As of this moment, no word could be reached from the Archon's Office or the Ministry of Defense, though some say that the 3rd Eastern Blue Fleet which was deployed last month to patrol the regional Pardesian waters has now been recalled to Velaeryon and unconfirmed rumors are abound they may be deployed to Belfras by the end of next week.

To many it came as a shock, following a long winded stream of rhetoric from the Papal Republic’s state television (PRRB) slamming the Kingdom of Belfras and various other states, it both cut all diplomatic ties and announced its EEZ expansion claiming an alleged 32% of the Belfrasian economic exclusive zone in the Lusankyan Sea. An area that contains significant deposits of natural resources, an attractive price for a greedy and expansionist state.

The Belfrasian government responded with dismay at the announcement and were quick to mobilize its military forces in the area in order to protect its sovereignty. Reportedly the population near the border areas are being evacuated, as the Belfrasians fear an invasion to be an imminent eventuality.

The Central Government has responded by condemning the Papal Republic of Rodarion for its malignant aggression with the sole purpose of expanding at the expense of its neighbours. Deeply regretting that empty rhetorical slander has managed to push Western Pardes towards the path of war. The Central government clarified it was surprised, if not amused at the duplicitous Rodarian government, who announced its actions pertaining its peace agreement with Premislyd as prove of its peaceful intentions, yet follows up with an undeniable act of war soon after. Although with continuing support for terrorist organisations it is said such hopes for a peaceful Rodarion are nothing but unrealistic optimism. The central government officially stated that it had urged Rodarion to stand down and pursue a peaceful solution.

There is little doubt among many that Rodarion stands to lose more than they could realistically gain. As they would face at least several nations and probably significant damage to its economy and infrastructure as a result. But it none the less poses a significant threat to the rest of the region, one that can cause as much harm as others can inflict upon it. Whether that be its systematic aggression directed against the Social State of Natalia or its persistence in pursuing its standoff with the Kingdom of Belfras. Only time can tell whether the outcome of this crisis will be anything but a disaster, but the Union can only hope that tranquillity will be restored at the end.

Holy Father intervenes as war with Belfras seems near

Pope Pius III sheds a tear of anger during his address at the Vatican

His holiness the Pope has reportedly smacked down President Ceausescu in a heated private meeting at the Vatican this evening, following news of major Belfrasian escalations over the current tensions. Reports from the Office of the Pope announced the sacking of Foreign Minister Titus Corlățean and removal from politics. The Pope then appeared within the Basillica to deliver a public address to which he even shed a tear of pure frustration over the course of events. The Pope is rumoured to of demanded the President's resignation, but following a discussion, understood the situation and left the President in his role. Speaking at the address the Pope laid down major policies in place of the government.

"The recent events have made me nigh on speechless, the swift nature has been shocking and I am appalled at the actions of the government of the Papal Republic, I have spoken extensively to President Ceausescu and he has explained to me that the current constitutional roles of individual ministers and the process of foreign policy had made him as well as me virtually powerless in halting the escalation. The decision made by the now former Foreign Minister Titus Corlățean to expand the EEZ was dispacable and I have used my constitutional powers as the primary power of the Papal Republic government to revoke the policy and withdraw all elements deployed to enforce it".

The decision to destroy the EEZ policy produced by Titus Corlățean was a swift one and agreed by both President Ceausescu and Pope Pius, the mentioning of the constitution by President Ceausescu is a repeat of earlier calls by himself in his cabinet career to reform the powers of indivdual ministers, who according to the constitution have the power to produce and pass any policy within their ministry without consulting the cabinet or parliament, the intial aim of the clause was to check presidential dominance of cabinet, yet it has proved this time and previously a double edged sword. The President and Pope have both agreed to amend the constitution to make foreign policy a joint effort by the President and Foreign Minister but to reviewed by the Pope prior to be passed to Parliament.

Although the Pope did not apologise to the Belfrasian government over the provocative act, he did seem to imply one.

"The actions taken by the former minister are foolish and hotheaded and we regret any shock and fear over it, we will take full responsibility for his actions and he will be punished, but the Papal Republic can only do so much to show that it wants peace and peace is what we want, we hope that you also wish for peace so that we may attempt to repair the damage done, I can also state that the report by the PRRB that all Belfrasians are being escorted under arms, is not an aggressive move but one for their protection from deviant elements within the Orducii who mean harm to Belfrasians" the Pope said.

The Office of the Holy Father also stated that the Pope will take a more active role in the government something of which he has refrained from doing for the past eight years he has been Pope. Unlike his predecessors, Pope Pius has been rather aloof from the government process, leaving the majority of government to the College of Cardinals and elected government, 'in light of recent incompetent moves by members of the government, the Pope has decided to use his constitutional powers as the Supreme Leader to act in accordance to them'. The decision by his holiness to act in accordance to his constitutional role will dramatically change the political situation in Rodarion, something welcomed by President Ceausescu.

In a swift statement given by the Office of the President, 'President Ceausescu after his lenghty discussion with the Holy Father, welcomes his decision to enter the political scene as dictated by the Constitution, it will offer stability and security and the President is honoured to work closer with the Holy Father'. Despite the heated discussion at the Vatican, the President and Pope both seemed united through body language and their statements during the address.

Pope Pius finished his speech with a direct request to Prime Ministe Ian Davies, "Peace now lays at your feet, if you wish for peace, accept our request for talks at a neutral location, let us stop this needless rhetoric and discuss the situation with calm and understanding. God wills peace between us, let us not run into the fires of conflict prematurely or needlessly, let us talk".

Rodarion crisis - Arthuristan travellers urged to leave affected locales

The Foreign Ministry has today issued a warning to Arthuristan travellers currently in Rodarion and southern Belfras, advising them to leave the area immediately. Regular Government-chartered flights, operated by Arthuristan Airways, will be flown from Constantine and other affected areas for the next two weeks bringing Arthuristan citizens home in the wake of the brewing crisis in Eastern Pardes.

Sources indicate that the Cabinet has been caught by surprise by the rapidity with which the situation has developed, in particular Rodarion's response, described privately by an unnamed minister as "drastic and disproportionate".

The government has yet to take an official stance for either side of the conflict, with Prime Minister Leanne Whittaker issuing a statement urging all parties to refrain from destabilising the region, attempt to resolve the crisis through a diplomatic solution and to investigate alleged human rights violations. However, political analyst Professor Moira Macdonald argued that there was more than meets the eye.

"Note how the travel warning extends to the whole of Rodarion, but only Southern Belfras, the area most at risk from military action" the Professor said in an interview earlier today wtih the ABN, "one can argue that the government intended a sign of displeasure at how Rodarion has acted so far. The 'destabilising the region' phrase was a not-so-subtle poke at Rodarion's public support for fundaloon terrorists operating in the SSN, while the referral to human rights violations speaks for itself to anyone monitoring the news about the Oravita gulag."

There has been much speculation over whether, after the three-week civil war in March and early April, the People's Defences Forces are prepared to defend Arthuristan citizens and vital interests in Western Pardes, Defence Minister Gabriel Quezon responded in the affirmative. "Once the new 5th Fleet constructed with Itailian assistance completes its expedited shakedown, and once the carriers damaged by recent events are fully repaired, our naval strength would have recovered sufficiently to act in conjunction with our regional allies - Emmeria, Itailia and others, to maintain stability in the region. We were lucky that only a small proportion of our forces suffered heavy losses in the recent war, although the People's Navy was hit disproportionately hard, especially the Home Fleet. Rest assured, however, we stand ready to deal with any challenges ahead."

Belfras Crisis proves what is wrong with this country

Titus Corlățean - The man who almost brought war because his own misguided ambition. He wanted to save an insecure and frightened nation from its own concequences.

Recent events in Parliament and with Belfras have been evidence for the growing realisation of what is inherently wrong with this country. The truth being that our constitution, which is so treasured as a sign of Rodarian democracy, which holds every member accountable for his actions and defends our democracy against Church power and vice versa, has been proved to be nothing but a disaster and a breeding ground for people like Titus Corlățean. For the first time in many years, the MPs from both the RSP and NLP have stood united in face of the crisis, anger over the course Titus Corlățean droves us down has united our much divided parliament. The truth is, our constitution which is so deeply entrenched at the aim of holding back the forces for growing power has opened up routes for others. Let alone the gross violation of rights of ordinary Rodarians, not just the elements who deserve such treatment.

The entry of the Pope into Rodarian politics as expected in the Constitution is a revelation that is welcomed even by members of the NLP and this newspaper, in my personal view it was need a long time ago. If the Holy Father was present before this, Titus Corlățean would never of enter the cabinet. But the Holy Father in all his wisdom believed the elected government could be trusted without his guidance, sadly he was proved wrong, not that he or anyone else could of foreseen. Titus Corlățean represents the very nature of Rodarian politics, power mad. Titus Corlățean on his own is a man who wanted a legacy, the Foreign Minister who stood up for Rodarion and pushed our influence and power to the maximum, well he tried and failed miserably, now Rodarion is a laughing stock to the entirety of Pardes.

The announcement that the Holy Father and President agreed on amending the constitution is long overdue, perhaps they could also work on the elements that damage free press and the nature of the electoral system which has denied the NLP any influence in government for the pass 60 years, but I doubt this will happen, but I am certain all three parties, the Church, RSP and NLP will work closely together to make sure that wack jobs like Titus Corlățean never enter cabinet again. The necessity for reform in regards to the cabinet is vital for the survival of the Rodarian government and indeed the Papal Republic. Yet I cannot see why the entire region has gone completely mad over this delinquent's actions, Belfras is also to blame for this close course to war, they deployed entire armies and fleets over the fact of a mis-printed article by the PRRB which stated all Belfrasians were being escorted out of the country by armed soldiers, when the case was true but for their own protection from mad elements of the Orducii, clearly Prime Minister Ian Davies is so eager for relection he's willing to take Belfras to war against one of the largest militaries in Pardes and indeed a nation so insecure about it's own situation it may very well have the best defensive plans for invasion, the one thing the Church and government has feared since 1905.

But that itself provides reasoning behind Titus Corlățean's madness, he wanted Rodarion to be respected and fear, to push back the vultures around our borders and save Rodarion from its predatory neighbours, only to find that his incompentence actually fuelled the desire by many in Pardes to see regime change in Constantine. If you ask an NLP MP what he thinks, he'll agree with the RSP, 'he wanted to save Rodarion, but went about it wrong'. This country and its people are frightened of the world, our geographical location, our governing system and our faith have made us insecure and paranoid, we feel encircled, we feel alone, we feel trapped and doomed to be struck down by foreign forces. Yet we have brought this on ourselves in some ways, our blatant disregard for respect of our neighbours justifies our fears, our obviously aggressive foreign policy has weakened us, not made us stronger, our ever growing desire to unite Christendom to save it from the Islamic and Atheist menace has also isolated us dramatically. Dear Rodarion we are alone, we always have been alone, we are encircled but that is no reason for aggression, peace and co-existance can fix that, we can change our ways and attract respect not fear.

Perhaps our foreign policy won't change, maybe it will change a little as to avoid antagonising the major powers, I do pray so. The nature of the crisis as said is evidence as to what is wrong with our country, its authoritarian nature, it's growing instable political nature and confusion over the Church's role is damaging Rodarion internally. I believe as do both major parties, that the Holy Father is the man to fix the problems, he is the supreme political figure and has the power to do so, whether President Ceausescu has learned the error of his ways, shall be seen, but I believe now that the Pope is involved he will correct the wrongs and work along side the Pope like father like son as both have declared their relationship symbolises, but Ceausescu is no innocent, he has played his part in this drama, let's hope he changes roles and comes out a hero, not for his sake, but for all of Rodarion.

Isn Deslen, Belfras - Tensions along the border to Rodarion have been at the highest since the early 1900s. The entire fifth army has been mobilized and the closest units to the border is a mere ten meters. The border posts have found themselves abandoned or fortified by soldiers. The village of Kest, which has attained regional fame of late, is completely empty. The only noises to be heard are soldiers inside the town or the noise of aircraft passing over. If this crisis was to calm down, it'd be an exercise that would cost somewhere in the region of $32 million Belfries with compensation claims likely to continue until the next decade.

We had heard from a representative that the royal family were aboard the Sanctuary but refused to inform us what or where it is. Before we could further interrogate this poor representative the Prime Minister entered the room and, within a short while, began to speak. He appeared curt and straight to the point as he spoke.

"As you've all heard, Mr. Corlățean has been sacked from his position as the Foreign Minister by the Pope whom has taken personal command of this situation. He's requested talks to disarm this situation before it gets worse. I am here today to inform you that we have sent a communique formally accepting these talks at a neutral location. We will, of course, be pushing for Belfrasian interests and for an agreement that would settle the Draganesti problem once and for all. Preparations are already being made for a potential stand-down of forces along the border and a reversion of orders issued this morning. In a short while you will all be updated with the progress. For now, here is the Foreign Minister, Adjunta Mayan."

Foreign Minister Adjunta Mayan was up on the podium shortly after PM Davies stood down. His face bore the look of solemn as he prepared to speak and two assistants brought a chart-board next to the podium, which held an enlargened image of Titus Corlățean.

"Good afternoon." he began. He straightened his tie and pointed directly at the image. "This is Titus Corlățean. Up until recently he was the Foreign Minister for the Papal Republic and has been labelled as the sole reason as to the escalation and the acts of terror committed upon Belfrasians. His actions have caused this terror in the hearts of those living in both Rodarion and Belfras alike, and thus is subject to the Kings Justice." The next thing Mr. Mayan did was hold up a A4 piece of paper. It was headed the same way all royal documents are, with the crown and lapels crossing over the words "ROYAL DECREE". Only, this time, under it the words "ARREST WARRANT" were in the red ink and hand-writing of the Kings personal aids. We could clearly see it, and it bore the name of Titus Corlățean.

"This is an international arrest warrant in Titus' name. He stands accused of seeking to start a conflict against the Kingdom by way of infringing on national sovereignty and placing multiple Belfrasians under duress. As you are all aware, this falls under the catch-charge of Terrorism. Titus Corlățean stands charged of committing an act of Terrorism against the Kingdom of Belfras, it's citizens and territory. The Rodarion Government are charged with being complicit with this mans actions unless they take him into custody and hand him directly over to the Belfrasian forces currently at the border. Should the Rodarion Government fail in this, a bounty will be posted for this man and distributed throughout the region and beyond. He is now the Royal Investigative Ministries most-wanted criminal and will face the Kings justice."

A NDP Rally earlier this week had occured over the tourist industry and it's allowance of 'ethnic enemies' into the Fatherland. The Tourist Industry accumalates 4.3 Billion Havmarks a year for the economy allowing tourists from nations such as Emmeria, Pravengia, Estovakiva and many other nations. Ski resorts and site seeing it what many tourists come to Havenwalde for and the NDP are quite frankly tired of them letting tourists mingle and socialize with citizens more pure in blood and stature than them. The Ministry of Tourism has said that tourism is one of the trademarks that make Havenwalde a 'cultural, vacation hotspot' but others believe these tourists dont deserve to even step foot on Havenwalder soil.

Walter Hase a prominent member of the NDP had this to say during the rally. "The tourism industry must be stopped, soon if this is kept up we will have babies of other races mixed in with ours. Do we really want those slavs across the water breeding with our folk?, I say to hell with the tourism industry these tourists need to leave and go vacation somewhere else"

The Ministry of Tourism responded to Hase's comments at the Rally soon after in a interveiw. "Mister Hase it is foolish to destroy the tourist industry. This is what allows others to see how things are here, to see what not most outside Pardes don't see all the time"

The NDP in the past has showed their anger back in 2003 when a radical member stormed a hotel and massacred 17 people and 5 hotel staff members near Betschstadt. The 17 were unidentified and flown back to their country of origin as the murderer was sentenced to death by firing sqaud following his trial. Could we see a repeat of the hotel massacre of 2003?.

Ionela Istratescu appointed Foreign Minister by President and Pope

Minister Istratescu is officially appointed by the Holy Father

Ionela Istratescu has been appointed Foreign Minister by President Ceausescu and his Holiness, she has agreed to the post and has vowed after a brief press conference to repair the damage done by her short lived predecessor and will immediately work to improve the situation between Rodarion and Belfras. Minister Istratescu served as Minister for State Security prior to taking up the Foreign Ministry, she has been a major uncredited member of the RSP government since 2002, serving in over six different smaller posts since. This will be her first major cabinet post and one she has aimed for since 2005. For the first time since 2004, a cabinet minister has been presented to the Holy Father prior to parliament for acceptance into the post, due the current situation, Mrs Istratescu will not be voted in by Parliament, but rather immediately take her position.

After visiting the Vatican to meet the Holy Father, she arrived at the Foreign Ministry where she gave a swift statement to the press. "I have been selected by the President and accepted by his Holiness to take up the post of Foreign Minister, I gladly and humbly take this position and will work vigorously to repair the damage done by my predecessor and continue to work solely in the interest of the Papal Republic, I will be stern yet compromising when desired, I will also act in accordance to my ministerial role and continue to brief the President and Holy Father as required.

I'd like to use this moment to declare that I have authorised the arrest of Titus Corlățean and his immediately extradition to Belfras, I have spoken to Mr. Corlățean who also wishes to be extradited rather than face punishment here in Rodarion, to which he claims will be a breach of his human rights, the President has also authorised the immediate taking of his property and assets and will be withheld from him and his family for the time being, thank you".

The decision to replace Titus Corlățean with Ionela Istratescu has been seen as a safe and solid one, Mrs. Istratescu has been seen as a firm and uncorruptable politician since her election as an MP in 1995. She is a devout Catholic and also a member of the United Christendom League which places her at the heart of the Pan-Catholic element of Rodarian society. She has been a staunch critic of the Social State of Natalia and the Hegemonic Union's policies towards it's client states, she has however been somewhat friendly towards Premislyd and Belfras in her diplomatic standing. Since 2008 she along with the Religious Fellowship Association has campaigned for the repealing of anti-islamic legislation. She is also seen as a reformer in cases of abortion and other areas to do with women's rights.

The Oradea Police Command has confirmed that Titus Corlățean has been arrested, he was apprehended at his home at 9.22pm, his wife has also been taken into custody for apparent drug abuses. Their two children have been taken into care by the Church and will be placed at a Sisterhood for Young Girls until the mother is rehabilitated for her drug abuses. Titus Corlățean will be transferred to a military airbase outside Oradea and then flown to Isn Deslen where he will be tried under Belfrasian jurisprudence.

There has been much protest at the sacking of Titus Corlățean by members of the Orducii, Armed Forces and popular society, claiming he was a warrior of the Faith and should not of been betrayed at the first sign of Belfrasian aggression, one Orducii Cell claimed 'Rodarion is no longer the Archangel, but the sheep of God". Several other Orducii members have been arrested for further comments that have been attributed to violent acts towards Belfras and members of the government.

Kamrah, RASHIDI (UP) — The annual Desert Warrior joint military exercises have begun in Rashidi. The Desert Warrior program is designed to enhance military cooperation between the United Republic of Emmeria and its Middle Eastern allies, providing them with vital training to defend themselves in an evolving threat environment.

Joint military exercises are training drills involving the armed forces of multiple nations. Desert Warrior 2012 was a series of drills throughout June 2012 between the United Republic and Rashidi. The second iteration of these exercises, which began just days ago, finds itself occurring right in the wake of a Tarsan invasion into Mardullah, a Middle Eastern nation.

"There is no correlation between the timing of Desert Warrior 2013 and recent conflicts in Akkadiya," U.R. Secretary of Defense Aiden Lawson told reporters during a media conference, referring to the traditional name of the Middle East region. "Because the threat environment for participants in Desert Warrior 2013 is changing, the conflict will affect the content and execution of the exercises. However, they were scheduled for this time last year, and the Tarsan invasion did nothing to change that."

Thousands of Emmerian servicemen and women from all armed services will take part in the exercises in cooperation with Rashidi military forces. The exercises will focus primarily on ground combat operations, particularly counter-terrorism, urban warfare, and amphibious landings.

Ulthrannic Ministro de Asuntos Exteriores denies Itailian accusations

Foreign Minister Count Hernan Martinez de Ornteva requested a press meeting earlier today when accusations that the Ulthrannic Empire was involved in the loss of dozens of Itailian shipping vessels; accusations made by Camillus Armenius Andronicus, Head of the Tribunal of Trade Affairs in the Itailian Empire. Although the government has remained mostly quiet, Ornteva blatantly called out the Itailian senator as being a 'senile fool'.

"Let me assure you that at no time did forces belonging to the Ulthrannic Empire or any of her autonomous territories acquire, board, assault or stole any Itailian civilian freighting or murder any of the merchants that were onboard these vessels. This is sabre rattling of the highest degree on the part of a member of a foreign power; let this be an example to the lies of the Itailian nation." Ornteva continued his own small rant moments after pausing by saying "Do the Itailians not know of the Civil War that affects Arthurista? Do they not know of other nations merchant shipping going missing off those waters, Ulthrannian merchant shipping included. And yet here is Mr. Andronicus, pointing the finger at our empire simply because his department cannot afford to throw a few pennies at proper escorts or maritime merchant protection!"

This is not the first time that the Itailian government and the Ulthrannic government have gone into a 'war of words', with certain nobility in the Empire claiming that there are Itailian spies trying to cause internal damage and 'false flag operations' by the Itailian government on their own shipping as a cassus belli.

Returning fire after comments from the Ulthranni Foreign Minister, who deliberately decried his own accusations and then said that Senator Andronicus was attempting to give the Itailian Empire a reason to invade Ulthranni, the Senator replied with a very bellicose response: " You know why he [Foreign Minister Ornteva] thinks that? Because he wishes we had a reason to invade his backward country, a reason to go in their, kill every single incompetent pig that sits in that putrid disgrace they call government and actually turn that hell hole into a better place. I honestly feel bad for the general populace of Ulthranni; having to put up with all the pigs and crap from their government, it's just a blight to the whole world, let alone the region. His claims go to prove the only two things Ulthranni is good for; lying and stealing money. Their lying thieves, no better way to put it."

The Senator's comments have been joined by a few members of the Modernist Party within the Senate, approximately eight, and they are moving to have the Tribunal on Foreign Affairs publish an official report with the Tribunal on Trade Affairs condemning the Ulthranni Empire and calling for a military intervention into " the first serious threat to free trade in decades."

" If we don't stop them here, who will? Next, they'll be targeting Arthuristan, Emmerian, hell even Eslovakian shipping containers. It just needs to be stopped immediately."

Despite claims that behind closed doors the Count and other members of the government have been through various shouting matches, Foreign Minister Ornteva returned fire on Senator Andronicus' claims of foul play:

"When any politican, regardless of his nation or his creed use such derogatory terms so that they may demonize your state, you know full well that they are in no way reasonable nor do they even wish to consider proper intellectual debate...heh, intellect, something that Senator Andronicus clearly lacks" he paused to grab charts and figures "Since the end of hostilities in Arthurista, nearly eighty two freighters flying our colours have been lost in those waters, with them more than four thousand merchants and billions of dollars of valuable freight. Yet we do not claim that the Arthuristan government or any other foreign power is responsible for the sinking and loss of our vessels, despite the hasty call of some uninformed nobility. Because we in Ulthrannia enjoy the idea of governence and knowing the truth over...wild accusations and trying to goad other powers into sharing their love of rattling the proverbial sabre ."

The Foreign Minister went on to claim that:

"This is the reaction of a man who believes us to be the monsters that we once were...titans who sail the ocean and march across the land waving the Imperial banners and devouring fleets before our might. Doesn't Senator Andronicus know that the Great Empire of Francisco Ortega de Asturia II is long but memories and ash? Does he not know that we are a humble nation of humble people, who only want to provide the truth. Let it be known that we do not wish to start hostilities with the Itailian Empire nor do we want mindless death. If the Itaiians want to send private investigators or government ministers to analyse our data and show them our evidence, then they are openly welcome to. For now, we will tolerate the mindless dribble of a few old men across the sea."

After two days of hard debating between the Senators of the Conservative Federalist and the Modernist Party, a quorum last night was reached to conduct a vote on a resolution forcing the deployment of a naval attachment to the Ulthranni shipping lanes. The resolution, titled Resolution 13.4.1, reached the majority needed to pass it early this morning at 1:13 AM, getting just one vote about the requirement. For the Modernists, they were able to convince enough of the left swinging CF Senators to ride with them this time out, and in return, the Archon's own party has betrayed him and ensured the passage of the Resolution.

With the Senate's constitutionally given powers, the Resolution forces the Secretary of Defense to deploy the amount of troops or equipment described in the Resolution to the area in the Resolution. These types of resolutions are only good for thirty days, so for the next month unless extended again, Itailian naval forces will be carefully guarding merchant shipping lanes. No word has yet been released on how many ships are being sent, but so far it has been confirmed at least one carrier and two battleships will be apart of the attachment.

Armavira Crisis

Armaviran President Tigran Petrosian vows to destroy the 'HU brigands'

Following the shock declaration by Megrelian High General Giorgi Okroshvili that the small HU puppet state would instigate a full scale naval blockade of the Armaviran Republic, the later has declared it will destroy this 'blatant aggression with upmost ferocity'. According to news reports from both Megrelia and the Hegemonic Union, it is in response to the deployment of Rodarian military personnel to Armavira following the signing of the Armaviran Security Treaty, which requires a Rodarian garrison of some 30,000 soldiers. The basis of the treaty was in fact against the threat from Megrelia and the imperialist and jingoistic nature of the Hegemonic Union.

Speaking at an emergency press conference, President Tigran Petrosian announced that the Armaviran Republic would act accordingly and decisively against the Megrelian actions.

"We, the Armaviran people, Armaviran Republic will defeat this evil, defeat this obvious act of aggression and imperialism, led not by Megrelia but the Hegemonic Union, if they believe we will surrender, they are wrong. We will fight to the last drop of Armaviran blood, in the name of family, nation and Jesus Christ our Saviour. We vow to destroy the HU Brigands at sea, in the air and on the land" President Petrosian vowed.

The Megrelians have deployed a flotilla to begin the blockade of Armavira, to which they have responded with the deployment of anti-ship missiles and anti-air weapons, the Armaviran Navy has also been placed on high alert and is preparing to hold back the blockade. The Papal Republic has urged restraint by the Megrelians, to which Foreign Minister Ionela Istratescu has declared unconditional support for the Armaviran Republic.

"We stand by our brothers and sisters in Armavira, we will offer any assistance they require. We will not sit idely by and watch a close friend of this nation fall to the exploitative, aggressive and racist hands of the Hegemonic Union. Yet again we are witnessess to the last gasps of a dying power, the Hegemonic Union is clutching at straws in order to prolong its life, but Armavira will not be a straw, it will be a sword" she stated during a press conference earlier today.

Since 2003, Armavira has been a major recipient of Rodarian military aid, it has recieved some 100 C-850 Anti-ship missiles and launchers, some 15 S-300 missile systems and 30 MiG-29s, aswell as millions of dollars worth of light arms and ammunition. The Armaviran Army and Territorial Defence Force have both recived training from the Papal Army and Papal Defence Corps. In 2006, the Armaviran Navy recieved three Type 054A frigates from Rodarion, greatly expanding its naval abilities. In 2008, Papal Defence Corps trainers founded the կարգը Խաչի (kargy Khach’i) or Order of the Cross in English, making it the first sibling group of the Orducii outside Rodarion. As it stands the Kargy Khach’i has some 1.9 million members, trained and armed. Then these developments were further developed by the Armavrian Security Treaty which was signed in 2010, to which Rodarion by 2013 would have a garrison of some 30,000 Papal Defence Corps personnel. As such the Ministry of Defence and Homeland Security has stated that the Papal Defence Corps has informed the Ministry that should Megrelia invade Armavira, the garrison would assist the Armavirans militarily.

President Petrosian stated he is confident that the Armaviran Armed Forces will be able to defend the Republic fully on it's own. "The weapons and systems given to us by the Papal Republic has made us a capable state, we are fully able to defend ourselves the best of our ability and I believe that Megrelia will soon regret the day they succumb to Hegemonic domination, for their sin against us, we will make them beg for mercy and indeed forgiveness".

Millions of Armavrians have marched out onto the streets in unison against the Megrelian Blockade, over 400,000 people marched in the capital Shirvan, chanting 'war, war, war with the brigands' and 'down with the HU'. One Armaviran woman spoke to our PPRB corrrespondant, "I would happily pick up a rifle and drive a bullet in Okroshvili's head". It has been reported that the Armaviran Army has been mobilised and the Air Force has been placed on high alert.

The atmosphere in Shirvan is one of anticipation and some excitment, which is odd for the situation. Yet decades of tensions, cultural, political and military tensions have brewed a deadly situation, to which the Hegemonic Union through its various methods of division and opportunitism has escalated the situation. The Papal Republic has officially declared that it blames the Hegemonic Union for the crisis and expects it, to find a solution before war breaks out. The President is expected to return from his trip to Premislyd tomorrow morning to deal with the crisis. Support for Armavira and anti-Hegemonic Union sentiment has grown exponentially in Rodarion, with various Orducii Cells reportedly offering themselves as volunteers. Protests on social networking sites has exploded, with various comments being removed due to their nature towards the Hegemonic Union's peoples. However the Ministry of Foreign Relations has stated that the Papal Republic will not openly oppose the Hegemonic Union at this moment in effort of preserving peace in Pardes.

WAVERLEY - High Chancellor Colin Townsend addressed the Parliament earlier today regarding the increasing tensions along the eastern border of Hippostania. During the past few weeks, tensions have risen after the Papal Republic of Rodarion sharply increased the amount of troops stationed in Armavira to nearly 30,000, creating a considerable backlash from the Republic of Megrelia, a member of the Hegemonic Union.

Shortly afterwards, the Megrelian government announced that it would be initiating a blockade of Armavira to counter the Rodarian and Armaviran threat, sparking severe anti-HU protests in Armavira.

In his speech, Townsend stated that "Northampton, a city of almost four million is located just a dozen kilometers away from the Armaviran-Megrelian border. The fact that both Rodarian troops are located within a mortar range of one of the largest city in the country poses a risk to the civilian population and national security of the Nation. "

Townsend also addressed the Rodarian and Armaviran governments in his speech: "Republic of Hippostania condemns the warmongering initiated by the Papal Republic of Rodarion; their actions have been reckless and irresponsible. We urge the government of Rodarion to preserve peace and stability in the region by pulling the troops in Armavira back to Rodarion and diffusing the crisis before it escalates any further. We also urge the government of Armaviran Republic not to endanger the relations between our two countries and to find a peaceful solution to the crisis."

High Chancellor also hinted at the possibility of joining the Megrelian initiated blockade if the Rodarian troops will continue to be stationed in Armavira. "All options are still open. If the conflict continues to escalate and continue to threaten the security of the Republic, we have no choice but to take proper measures to ensure the security of our population and territorial integrity."

The speech hinted at the possibility that Hippostania would be aligning itself with the Hegemonic Union. Traditionally Hippostania has attempted to maintain cordial relations with both Armavira and Megrelia, but after Armavira started accepting Rodarian military aid in 2003, Hippostania has taken a more aggressive stance towards its eastern neighbour, fearing spread of Rodarian influence in the region.

Brckovljany, Premislyd — As the rhetoric between Ulthrannia and Italia rages on, and Natalia continues to destabilize, the Department of Defense and Security has announced the movement of the Katyn Military District and Srklada Military District to the Natalian and Italian borders respectively. This announcement comes only days after the rhetoric between Ulthrannia and Italia began over Ulthrannia supposedly sinking an Italian merchant vessels.

"To say that we are preparing for an invasion is false" Department Spokeswoman Elejsa Arsanukayev said in a press conference earlier this morning. "The movement of both the Katyn and Srklada districts are purely for defensive purposes and to protect Premislydic territory from possible attack should an Ulthrannian invasion come to Italia or Natalia continues to destabilize."

Critics have brought ulterior motives into question, however. Many critics are citing that after the Ramadan War in the early 20th century, the government would want to try to regain the lands lost to the Italians, linking the current border with Cedynyja. This leads many critics and opposition to believe that Premislyd would invade Italia in accordance with any sort of Ulthrannian invasion that occurs.

As for Natalia, critics are saying that the new found peace with Rodarion frees up any sort of worries about a Rodarian-Natalian war.

"With the threat of war with Rodarion out of the picture, Premislyd can now act freely within the region" Assemblyman Draško Ateljevič, one of the leading assemblyman in the opposition bloc, said Tuesday. "Now that Premislyd doesn't have to worry about provoking Rodarion, or keeping the Papal Republic [of Rodarion] in check, Premislyd is now free to pursue its Przyracyjist ideals in regaining all its former Slavic lands in the region."
