This is the OOC thread to my "legislative hearing" RP "A Fox and Pony Show", where the nation of Frenequesta debates whether or not to join the Coalition of Ponyist States.
In the IC thread I have four main witnesses, along with several minor ones that will give their responses to Foreign Affairs Committee members, but others are welcome to have their own witnesses come and either argue for or against joining the alliance, which I will question with the Foreign Affairs Committee. If you want a character of yours to be a witness in these proceedings, apply here:

If accepted, you'll be scheduled in the next available space on the "Schedule" list in the original list on the first post in the IC thread. When you are ready for the Committee to give your statement (the time on the schedule will not, of course, correspond to RL time), I will inform you by telegram.

*Keep the name "typically Frenequestan"-- that is, it should either be of American, German, or Chinese (Mandarin) origin, or a combination of these
**Available states are Southern Frenequesta, Coppland, New Herbia, The Zappora Spas, Walmark, East Jorgen, Oskhammer, Trumpor, Kittgenstein, West Jorgen, Plestoria, or La Vitabreve.
***You may either be Socialist Republican, Prosperity, Novelty, Frenequesta Pride, or independent. If your member intends to be in the Frenequesta Pride Party, they have to be against joining the Coalition, mostly for protectionist reasons. The Socialist Republican party also has concerns about ties with Hippostania in light of their "police state" descent.
There may be as many witnesses as are welcome, but only 12 slots for Committee members (I control the 13th, who is also the Chair)

Note: You need not apply to be a witness or a Committee member to participate in this RP, however your role if you do not is most likely that of a third-party observer, such as a foreign government and their representatives in Frenequesta or a reporter. Additionally, you can post in the IC thread as the witness in the IC thread at this time so long as the post does not divulge too much information on the speech the witness is to make before the Committee.
