Ponyism spead to The Purgatory?

Postby Warden-Commander Kuril » Mon Mar 19, 2012 3:08 pm

The Galactic Gazette
Galactic Date: 2258.43

Earlier today in Blackacre Space aboard the Private Prison-ship, The SSV Purgatory, a portal of unknown origin appeared in Warden-Commander Kuril's Private quarters. Three sentiment Ponies capable of speaking Galactic Standard stepped out of the portal. The incident has been kept under top level security clearance but The Purgatory's, Batarian, Executive Directer of Public Relations, Lt.-Cdr. Tarik Qek'shan has this to say.

The three ponies who have identified themselves as ButterBloom, ButterNut and ButterBallz, are being kept in the Diplomat Lounge and routinely questioned as to there purpose, and how they got here. While they do not seem to be hostile and are here for some form of peace talks, the idea they can send a small invasion force into a well-secluded Maximum-Security Prison with the top technology available today, especially one that holds statistically holds the most violent re-offending criminals, causes great concern. The Ponies seem to be staying of their own accord or are unable to create another portal or other means of transportation to their home. While I am not at liberty to discuss the specifics of the questions or means of treatment, I can assure the Galactic Community that they are not being tortured or treated unfairly, however we are treating them as a military threat and a level 2 Flight Risk.

The Warden-Commander himself was unavailable for comments but citizens of many galactic governments have mixed opinions about the situation, stemming from the need of effective prison such as the Purgatory, but the questionable aspects of the Purgatory, such as its legal status as a country, isolated incidents of torturing and sometimes killing criminals, as well as unconfirmed rumors of Slave Trading with among others The Grand Ascendency and The Sith World Assembly. The obvious security risk have led to small but vocal groups of both 'Ponyist' and 'Anti-Ponyist' petitioning their own governments to make legislation and other preparations in case such an event occurs on their planet. More information on this as it becomes available.

"This incident is of greatest interest to us, given that we as a nation fear a pony takeover ourselves. We are interested to know what the ponies' motive was for accessing the prison ship via magical teleportation, why they emerged in a location that was out of bounds and perfectly placed to get them captured, and why they emerged in a prison and didn't emerge instead in the place you store your gold reserve."

The success of Experiment 101-L-01 was unquestionable. SCP-101-L had been successfully activated, and Mobile Task Force 101-L-B had transited. Of course, where they had exited the portal, and what they were doing--or if they were even alive--was unknown. The lifeline that they had attached to the three Butters had been cut by an uncontrolled outburst from the SCP object that they had been tasked to explore.

All the SCP Foundation could do was hope that the three Butters of Task Force 101-L-B, were alive, somewhere else in the known universe. Alas, without knowledge of what had become of the three ponies, their records were simply stamped ‘missing in action’, and filed into Foundation records, three more brave researchers lost in service to the Foundation. And like the others who had gone before them, no one would ever know of their service.

“Well?” ButterBloom asked, looking at her two sisters. “What’s the plan?”

ButterNut shrugged, lying on a couch. “Wait?” she suggested. “It’s not like anyone in the Foundation knows where we are. They’ve probably written us off as dead already,” she said with a scoffing laugh.

Bloom shook her head, settling beside her sister. “Whoever thought we’d end up being first contact?” she asked.

“How’d you know we are?” Nut replied, glancing at her sister.

The question was a poignant one. “Still,” she said. “We still have a duty, and I’ll be doing my best to do it,” she said, turning her attention to the other two. “I expect you two to cooperate with me.”

The Diplomat Lounge was one of the nicer places on the ship. Granted its a prison-ship so its nice but nothing overly extravagant, but its a mid-size room, meant to be conferable and non-threatening.

A large Turian male accompanied by four armed male Krogans, entered the room. The Krogans set up a recorder as the Turian sits down. Things quickly went to business.

"I am Lieutenant-Major Tonn Hajji, I have been assigned to represent the SSV Purgatory, its government and its crew in these talks, you are not prisoners, but will become prisoners if at any moment any of you become hostile. By talking you recognize yourselves as proper representatives of the Nation or Organization you represent. Do you understand this and wish to proceed?

"Of course," ButterBloom said, nodding at the alien. "I, nor my sisters, have any intention to become hostile to you or your government," she said. "We happily agree to represent the...," she paused, unsure for a second before continuing. "..the Foundation," she finished with a nod.

Lieutenant-Major Tonn Hajjin records a few things on a pad. a combination of observations and facts. He underlines the words 'The Foundation'. He then hands ButterBloom some papers.

Hope you guys can read galactic standard. You'll be asked to sign these and a few others during the course of this 'First Contact Interview.'

Hajjin looks annoyed at the paperwork as the Krogans look bored almost upset at the non-hostile nature of the ponies.

I guess I'll start with the two most basic questions How do we refer to you as a sentiment Race, and what exactly is 'The Foundation'.

"The scientfic name for our species is, Equus sapiens," she replied. "Although we are more commonly referred to as simply, 'Ponies', or 'Sentient Ponies', in common parlance," she explained.

"As for what the Foundation is?" she asked. "The Foundation is an extra-governmental, international organization dedicated to the..." she paused, considering her words. "Advancement and preservation of our home world." A suitably neutral set of words.

"Well that's simple enough. I guess the next questions is, are you aware that your currently inside a High-Security Prison Ship, and that your presence, and more specifically the way you arrived is a security risk, if you were so much as a meter away from where you arrived, you could have been an unwilling accessory to the escape of a number of violent criminals."

Hajjin sighs deeply and Folds his arms.

"I guess the more diplomatically correct way to phrase such a question would be, 'Why did The Foundation send you here and what are the specifics of your mission.'"

"Our mission was to explore the use of a technology to enable us access to interstellar travel," ButterBloom said. "It was...a first live test. Apparently we failed to calculate where we would be headed, and materialized in an...unfortunate location," she said, the seriousness of what had almost happened settling in. Internally, the ridiculousness of the story was becoming clear...how had they ended up aboard a ship in the vastness of space? The probability of such an incident happening by chance was almost inconceivably minute. 'More testing required, she thought, filing the thought away to report it if she ever got the chance.

"As for our mission," she continued. "It had few specifics. One of the few specifics was that we were to be peaceful and attempt to make harmonious contact with any sentient life encountered."

OOC: Sorry about randomly popping in and out, my job is working my to death

Well that's good, that's something we can manage without too much hassle, though a lot of paperwork. We are more then willing to assist you in what ways we can...

He gots something down motions one of the guards to come to him. Hajjin gives the guard a paper and whispers 'take this to the Warden'.

...though obviously some information will be required such as defense against your... technology, and other such ocmodities, in the mean time we are willing to allow to contact your superiors if you wish.
