Peoples Dictator Rezerak Qwern was glad that he had one the election. He had beat the socialist leader who was very popular in Northern Bavungria. Now he would achieve in a field were the former leader had failed in, international trade. Already after a short time in office he had made a trade deal with one nation and now he was getting ready to invite a delegation from Yohannes. This would hopefully turn out well.

The People's Palace was looking better than ever. The Northern Bavungria flag flew around Independence square along with red flags with the hammer and sickle symbol. The airport was ready to receive the delegates and security was on high alert for any trouble. However Northern Bavungria lacked in crime in general.

[OOC: I am just going to jump ahead and skip to the palace arrival, if you don't mind]

His Excellency Pål Simonsson was the designated trade delegate of His Majesty's Government, in full representation of the Foreign & Trade Office of HM Government.

Arriving early into the Bavungrian People's Palace, Simonsson was abruptly taken aback by its astounding exterior. Preconceited with the notion of an extreme socialist-riddled country's inability to adequately host a diplomatic function of the highest administrative and intergovernmental degree, Simonsson was astonished to see that such a generalisation was simply an outdated view, carried without any thought by the previous generation of Yohannesian diplomats and politicians.

His gaze shifted from the palace's exterior into that of his surrounding. Multiple Northern Bavungrian flags, filled with its national signature of hammer and sickle can be seen all around him. Its majestic and sharp display of prowess embellished upon the ideological struggle of his host country.

He approached the main door of the palace, preparing himself to meet the designated representative of the Northern Bavungrian Government.

The two large doors had a yellow hammer and sickle in the middle, representing the socialist and communist leaning of the country. The door was flanked by two Northern Bavungria soldiers. They looked at him and saluted him. Then one of them spoke Briev into his radio. The guards just stood there and waited.

Then the grand doors of the People's Palace were opened. Two other guards were inside. Peoples Dictator Rezerak Qwern was wearing a red suit as it was tradition for communist, socialists and the such to wear them during international visits. He hoped that his communist decorations would impress the delegate. Rezerak being apart of the communist party wanted to make communist and socialist symbolism a part of the Northern Bavungrian culture. Although his mind wandered he realized he was on a mission. Rezerak looked at Pal Simonsson. He put out his hand for a hand shake and said "Welcome to Northern Bavungria Your Excellency! Shall we go to my office to discuss things?"

Simonsson frozed.

His eyes could not but hide his surprise at the rigid aura radiating from the greeters opposite standing beside the door. Nonetheless, he smiled softly with admiration and respect. He wanted to salute back, yet the instinct within reminded him of why such would not be recommended.

Shifting his eyes towards the door, he was taken aback even more. Hammer and sickle, an ideological reminder of Bavungria's political history, was proudly painted upon the surface. He wanted to touch the door, seemingly wishing that perhaps, albeit unlikely as it would be, that the yellow symbol engulfed upon him the brotherly spirit of revolution which he could not but understand. Propaganda, propaganda, propaganda, he stood firmly by his principle. No marxist nepotism nor red blanket shall brainwash his mind, he thought quietly.

The door was opened.

Stepping back slowly, he awaited his turn to introduce himself. The usual boring diplomatic routine; communists, fascists, orientalists, one shall always treat them all the same, exclaimed his mentor of ten years' past. A man extended his hand, an opening initiative of one's embrace. Oh, gosh, here goes shall it be..? Simonsson poised himself.

"I graciously thank your attentive and cordial welcome, most honourable Sir... Indeed, if your most honourable shall not mind..", he spoke softly, awaiting for the Bavungrian leader to lead the way inside.

Qwern smiled. At first he thought that was called his excellency must be from a monarchist state. Matter of fact he did nont know anything about the nation of Yahannes except for the fact that they had established and embassy with the USSCR a few years ago. Whether or not they were monarchist Qwern still knew that he needed to create a trade deal. He hoped that the extensive socialist symbolism did not scare the delegate.

However it did not matter. He had a job to do. "Thank you comrade. Now if you will follow me we can go to my office." Qwern gestured for Simmonsson to follow him. Qwern walked down a long hall towards his office. the walls were adorned with paintings of battles, revolutionary pictures and there was a spot on the wall for the former leaders. A single portrait was hung on that spot. Qwern smiled to himself. This is the man he had beaten in the election.

He finally reached his office and opened the door. He went behind his desk, sat a down on a chair and poured some tea into a cup. He gestured to Simonsson to sit in a comfortable chair opposite of him.

Simonsson followed the northern Bavungrian dictator, step by step.

His gaze fixed upon the dictator's back, yet his mind went elsewhere. Overseas mission such as this particular occasion was the reason why he loved his position as an officer of trade and middle-ranked diplomatic staff of the Foreign & Trade Office. The willingness to compromise and eagerness to learn foreign cultures and customs were just some of the most important aspect upon one's ability to successfully adapt to the ever-changing world of multinational and trans-national diplomacy.

He noticed something on his left side, and glanced towards that direction. It was an array of Bavungrian paintings; battles, dictators, despots and tyrants all mixed as a singular package. Shaking his head slowly, Simonsson fixed his gaze back at the dictator's back. There was no doubt that this man had committed many atrociousness, horrors and tragedy upon his very own people. "Just as all despots and socialist worshipper do", he sighed quietly.

Realising that they had reached the office, he awaited the dictator to open the door. Following the dictator's step into his desk, Simonsson took his seat and calmly watched as his host poured a cup of tea. A moment of silence followed, and it was then that he knew the time was up to dwell upon the very crux of this meeting; that of further economic interrelationship between His Majesty's Government and the Northern Bavungrian Government, and perhaps the establishment of a mutual trade agreement to accompany the aforesaid package.

Simonsson awaited his host to start the conversation, and voiced his proposal.

Qwern new that the delegate would think of his nation as despotic state. Most people did because they associated socialism and communism with dictatorship. Although the nation was covered in leftist symbolism, the names of government representatives sounded dictatorial and there had only been one leader before him his nation was a fledgling nation. It was 3 years since there independence and they had achieved a great democratic system. However it did not matter if Simonsson thought of Northern Bavungria as a dictatorship or a bright democracy painted in red socialism.

After he poured his tea he knew he needed to start negotiations and such. This was the first time for Qwern to conduct trade deals and such on behalf of his nation. He took a deep breath. Then he sipped from his tea and said "Would you like some tea?"

"Indeed, most honourable Sir", Simonsson gently received the cup of tea from Qwern's hand. The senior trade delegate sipped the aromatic hot tea slowly, sensing its wonderful taste upon his lips.

A moment of silence followed, and he put down the cup. Firmly placing his hand on the table, Simonsson directly voiced his proposal, without any further thought, "His Majesty's Government has expressed its proposal to extend an economic relationship and friendly hand towards your represented government, most honourable Sir.", his eyes locked at the Dictator's eyes, as if one would be able to read the other's mind.

"A preferable reduction of tariff would be one of His Majesty's Government main initial agenda, whereabout semiconductors and electronics goods of Yohannesian origin will be granted a small, yet irredemably important reduction of tariff, within Northern Bavungria."

Another moment of silence, and he closed his sentence. It was now the turn of the Dictator to speak his mind.

Qwern sipped from his tea once more. This deal was tempting. It would help diversify his nations economy. Plus electronics were not being made in Northern Bavungria so his nation would have to get it from somewhere. There was no way that his nation could compete in the electronic department, so reducing the tariffs did not bother him.

The thoughts twirled in his head. The main reason why he wanted trade was to sell his products to get more money into the economy. However he thought of a way that his nation and His Majesty's nation could benefit. He took another sip from his tea and took off his suit jacket to relax.

"You can call me comrade Your Excellency or you can call me Qwern. Anyways i will agree to reduce the tariffs significantly. However all of your electronics will be sold to stores that are Northern Bavungrian. Essentially we will not allow your companies to come in and sell the product but we will sell your product at our domestic stores. Does that sound reasonable?"

Simonsson pondered his reply.

"Indeed, Your Excellency, that terms shall indeed be acceptable to His Majesty's Government.", the Yohannesian delegate leaned back on his chair, and sipped the delicious aromatic tea once more.

"The nineteen Yohannesian countries has always been known worldwide for its thriving engineering and shipbuilding industries, beside its well-known finance and banking sectors. I would like to offer you the possibility of the two largest defence companies within the nineteen countries, that of VMK Aktiengesellschaft and Royal Beaufort Shipwrights Guild, participating upon a foreign direct investment programme within the northern Bavungrian nation."

He closed his sentenced and leaned back on the comfortable chair once more, awaiting Qwern's response.

Qwern smiled with delight. At least the first part was settled. He listened intently to Simonsson.

Once he heard about the military companies he was split into two thoughts. One thought was that Northern Bavungria should have a strong military. The second thought was that it Northern Bavungri's army was small and they had the backing of the USSCR. However instead of dismissing the issue altogether he decided to inquire more about it.

"What do you mean exactly by investment?"

Qwern took another sip of tea.

"VMK factories and manufacturing centres are, as of the present, located in over twenty-seven countries, with exportation commitment and contract towards more than three hundred nations internationally", Simonnson explained point-blank, locking his eyes to reassure the northern Bavungrian leader.

"Meanwhile, Royal Beaufort Shipwrights Guild operate across fifty nations globally, its dockyards and naval facilities extending throughout Yohannes and Her Commonwealth Empire."

The Yohannesian trade delegate closed his eyes, arms folded and finished his sentence abruptly.

"I would like to, on behalf of His Majesty's Government, propose the establishment of low-key VMK and Royal Beaufort-related electronics manufacturing facilities within Northern Bavungria", he opened his eyes once more, looking intently with a firm determination towards Qwern.

Qwern knew that something like this would turn up in one of the several trade agreements that his nation was going through. He did not want to debate about how his nation did not really want foreign companies in his nation. However he was thankful that his nation had no coastline meaning one of the companies would most likely not be able to operate in his nation. This means that Qwern would not have to argue.. negotiate about one of the companies.

Negotiations were all about giving and receiving. Essentially both sides would have to concede something. In return they would receive something which was valuable or what that party desired. Qwern was attempting to follow this policy at this point in time.

"Well the Royal Beaufort Shipwrights Guild will not be able to operate in Northern Bavungria due to the fact that we have no shore. We are an inland country."

Qwern looked into Simonsson's eyes. He was trying to make the effect that this was a fact and the RBSG would not be able to operate due to the realities on the situation.

"However the VMK offer is different. If we were to allow you to have factories established in Northern Bavungria we would request that 51% of the company shares belong to us. This would mean that we would bear the costs of the company as well. "
