Two hundred fifty individuals have been arrested recently in a sting operation orchestrated by the Academy Guard. Each defendant attended a honey trap 'back alley medical office' to have non-medically required surgeries performed on their children. Many cited religious or cultural reasons, and most are first or second generation immigrants.
They are currently planned to stand trial individually before the Academy's Human Rights tribunal. Given the amount of evidence ready against each, it's expected for a series of no contest pleas to occur.
Trials are scheduled to begin as early as next week, and keep the Human Rights Tribunal occupied for months to come.
