The recently detained and later released Iglesian journalist Diana Melo has today published a book called Revelation, which talks about her life in Hippostania before, during and after detention (you can see again the situation with Diana Melo in Hippostania when she was released here). The book is divided into five chapters:

1. The Hippostanian storm

2. Approved?

3. Opening the hidden truth

4. Long night

5. Sunshine

"Revalation" just reached the top of the Telephone and Telegraph's best sellers list. An incredible achievement for a newly released book, but not surprising considering the support that was given during Ms. Melo's imprisonment.

Ms. Melo's book is met not with widespread fanfare, applauding, and appraisal in Saurisia, but with indifference. This is not surprising, given most Saurisians' indifference to the news of Diana Melo's arrest.

Maven sits in his desk and is reading the chapter of the Long Night as he sits in his office and takes a single lemon drop from his candy dish. He has a tired look as he remembers the struggles that poor Miss Melo had faced at the hands of Hippostanian guards and how he, Maven Auryn, High Chancellor of Crystal Spires, felt so incredibly helpless about it. She was not even a Communist, but a journalist. This was something that filled his insides with lead. It was when the Coalition of Ponyist States finally condemned Hippostania that the nightmare for Miss Melo was over, but the struggle for liberation had only began. The calls for revolution are a seductive song when there is oppression of the people, and it is only a matter of time. One day, Hippostania will face a new day when the people will become tired of government interference in people's lives, lack of civil rights, no political rights, and complete and utter domination by the poor of the wealthy elite. There will one day be a revolution, and all it would need is one push, like a domino design being knocked down.

Even though the ponies of the GPH generally had little, if any, interest in Diana Melo's story, her latest book enjoyed considerable success in the Herd, though mostly only because the Herd edition of the book's cover featured Princess Luna descending from the heavens donning a pair of shades, grasping a cigar in her mouth and a machinegun in her hooves, blasting through the prison ceiling to help Diana Melo escape. The book's contents were edited accordingly.

Diana Melo's book was released for sale in Valcluse and achieved some success, although a few right-wing activists stole a van with five boxes of the books inside and burnt it outside Parliament whilst shouting "Non à communisme et non à terrorisme!"

The activists were subsequently arrested and issued with a variety of charges, including arson, willfull damage to private property, disturbance of the public, etc.

To symbolize their "freedom and democracy" Congress unanimously voted to ban the book, and all copies that had arrived, in the thousands, to be sold, were taken to Bethlehem, where a "cleansing" ceremony took place, with the sanction of the Archbishop of the Bethlehem Parish, Provadi Krone. The books were burned, as well as effigies of Diana Melo, and even flags of Iglesian Archipelago burnt, while during the ceremony, a pro-Luziycan rally praised the freedom and democracy.

This hasty arrangement was approved and fast-tracked the slow turning of the wheel for this protest. Many praised the censoring of the internet, its policy, the freedom that it offers the people and liberty. Hippostanian flags and banners in Hipponian were also everywhere to be seen during that ceremony. After one hour, Archbishop Provadi revealed a "cleansed" book, called "Revelation," and where it said, "Diana Melo," it read, "Communist Spy."

The plot was significantly altered, in which she went there, on the orders of the Iglesian government, and made up lies and over-exaggerated, rightfully caught, before having a nation illegally intervene to capture her, and take her back to Iglesia. In either case, the "cleansed" version of the book immediately was re-exported to every nation, while it became mandatory reading in secondary schools throughout the country. In the end, 425,000 people, with 310,590 Hippostanians, the entire Hippostanian community (including 18 ponies), 110,000 Luziycans and 4,410 Swedes watched the ceremony live, while 4 million watched it on Luziycan televisions.

The "Revelation Novel by a Communist Spy," a Luziycan-edited edition of Diana Melo's novel, with a sticker in red with yellow text reading, "THE REAL TRUTH OF DIANA MELO," reached #4 in the Bethlehem Sun's Most Read Books the following day.
