Starhoof smiled to herself as she entered the Rolls Royce parked up by the airport entrance. The Agent Whaler ruse had been a final security precaution to ensure she wasn't picked up by some Anti-Ponyist with a grudge. An imposter would most likely have followed her lead and tried to pass himself off as a government agent which didn't exist.

The drive across Svolaarei was pleasantly brief in spite of the chauffeur's concerns and Starhoof presently found herself on in the courtyard of the Grand Seaside Hotel, admiring its grand façade as bellhops in red uniforms trundled her luggage away on brass trollies. A mare in a suit guided her to the front desk where she was quickly and courteously checked in and guided to her room, a grand suite with a central living room as well as a kingsize bedroom and en-suite. Her luggage waited at the foot of the bed in a room wallpapered in rich, satin red. Both rooms had a set of massive French windows opening onto a private balcony looking across the bay where she could see the ships in the harbour and even what Starhoof supposed must be the gleaming hull of the SS Galaxy.

Feeling a strong desire to tidy herself up after travelling, Starhoof cantered gleefully through to the bathroom where she was greeted by gleaming white tiles, luxury soft towels and a pony-sized jacuzzi tub. Feeling like a little filly again, the young mare spent close to an hour relaxing while experimenting with the different jet settings of the tub and the contents of all the little bottles that lines the rim of the tub. Scented bubbles had overflowed the tub and made significant progress at filling up the entire bathroom by the time Starhoof emerged, covered in enough bubbles as to resemble the abominable snowpony. Wrapping herself in a thick, fluffy white towel she trotted back through to the living room to find an open bottle of champagne in an ice bucket next to a full glass. One of the porters must have delivered it while she was in the bath. A note on the table read To Ambassador Starhoof with compliments, the Grand Seaside Hotel. She sipped happily at the flute while intermittently drying herself off on the towel and by rolling around on the soft, pillowy mattress.

She finished the champagne at the same time as she finished brushing her mane and tail and put the rest of the bottle in the minibar fridge for later. Before leaving the room, she dabbed on some perfume and fastened on the silver bracelets with emeralds that Senator Ram had given her as a present when she became ambassador. She hadn't worn them openly until today; before she'd never really been sure she was a real ambassador but after the fiasco in the Council over the Mackonian Action she had put such fears aside. Talking with Luna had helped a lot as well. Starhoof was just as good an ambassador as anypony else in the Coalition and she deserved to have fun tonight because of it!

Taking one last look in the mirror, trotted off down to the hotel bar to await the other guests.

Anypony who wants to chat with Starhoof can find her at the hotel bar drinking G&Ts. Also, I've updated the artwork (before she looked too young) so she looks more like this now.

Snöhof had gotten more than enough from the building's exterior from a first look and from the disapproving look that the nobleman gave the building confirmed that he felt the same sense of wrongness that she felt when she looked at it as it was so different from .

"Thank you most kindly for the journey my good fellow!" Ulrik said behind her as he gave the driver a flat rectangular coin of silver from his belt, hardly the most valuable coins the federation had but then again that would the follow hardly know.

Instead did he just turn towards the new man that addressed him and nodded towards the bags "There they are my good fellow, feel free to take them!" he said which meant that Snöhof would not have to carry them herself and she felt a little happier about the place as she joined the nobleman as he made his way towards the building.

Crystal Spires wrote:"Thank you Honored sir, I am indeed Yalij Dontoth of Crystal Spires. Uncorruptible Scribe and Apprentice to the High Chancellor. " He said with a formal bow. "I thank you for your trouble." He climbed into the car and his ears twitched in recognition as he began thinking to himself what the possible things he would see on his way to the party. He began to feel a little excitement, but it didn't change his devotion to Spirean composure and poise. His blue eyes glittered with excitement as he smiled and looked out the window and slightly rolled it down, resisting the urge to stick his head out the window to feel the cool breeze.

"And we're off!" The car drove through the gates, security giving the car a nod as it passed. The car drove onto the streets near the harbor, populated mostly with trucks shipping goods to destinations unknown. The car eventually reached a bridge, with helicopters hovering above. Speedboats zoomed about on the ocean below. When the car reached the other side, it joined another freeway, the sea on one side and skyscrapers on the other. The car reached the same whitewashed tower the Imerian delegation arrived at earlier. The chauffeur said, "This is where you get off." Another bellhop opened the door, and said, "Welcome to the Grand Seaside Hotel. Shall I take your luggage?"

China West wrote:The woman stops leaning on the driver and stands strait up. "I was trying to be nice, but your as thick as redwood." She walks to the back door and opens it for Lord West. The man's eyes seem to smile at both of them.

Regan walks over and enters the limo first. She seems to ignore the driver completely. Lord West follows with the red head, Erin, climbing in behind him.

Kathrine on the other hand gets into the front passenger seat. She looks as though the alchol has had no effect on her, mainly because she consumed almost none of it, and she seems to focus on the driver as he gets in. "You had better drive as though I was both your mother and a damn police officer...because you get one scratch on my client and you will spend the rest of your short, agonizing life as a enuch. Do I make myself clear?"

"You act like my mother, too," the chauffeur said. "You're only tenpting me to drive recklessly. Lucky for you, we aren't crossing any bridges, so if I suddenly go kamikaze you won't drown." The chauffeur started the engine up, and drove through the streets. Shadows of the buildings of glass and steel overhead fell on the car as it steadily sped along the streets of Svolaarei. In only a few minutes, the car got to the hotel. "Well, frankly I'm surprised I didn't cause my car to spontaneously combust, let alone I didn't get a DUI. Anyway, a bellhop should come over soon." And he was right. The bellhop, in the same manner as always, opened the door, and took the delegation's luggage. He then directed them to check-in, and left.

"Is my mane perfect? Is my horn filed properly? I don't want to appear a total crime against fabulosity to the foreign guests!"

Morning Star lied on a pile of cushions, sipping cinnamon tea lazily out of a cup he levitated in front of him as a horde of maids swarmed him, brushing his hair, filing his horn and hooves and whatnot.

The airship the Prime Minister was to arrive in meanwhile drifted through the clouds, gradually lowering its altitude until it dived down into Svolaarei's mists, the halting screeches of the engines and an abrupt bump signalizing the vessel's landing. Morning Star sipped the last of his tea and waved dismissively, making the flock of maids around him almost instantly dissolve. The colt then rose up and headed out of the airship down the gangway, throwing unimpressed looks at the sights that opened below from the towering ship as the maids lumbered behind, dragging the weighty luggage.

After an uneventful venture through the airport security the grey unicorn trotted out the airport's building, taking a deep sniff of the chill air, his neatly brushed mane fluttering in the wind slightly as he looked around for the vehicle that should've been waiting for him.

Morning Star's face showed sour mood, but even though he was indeed bitter over having to wake up all to early on this day and also trying to keep a serious composure the colt was quite excited on the inside as the evening to come seemed to be grand and Morning Star would get to know a fair share of respectable foreign delegates, fair mares and of course the bar's intoxicating contents to boot!

The driver observed the coin, and realize that perhaps he could sell it to a collector. He drove off into parts unknown. In the meantime, the bellhop was busy guiding the Imerian delegation to the interior of the hotel. The bellhop opened the door for the delegates, and presented an amazing atrium. Marble floors led to a large, majestic fountain in the center of the atrium, featuring a mermaid laying on the tip of stacks of small ponds of water. Marble columns lined with sapphires and jade supported the upper levels of the atrium. A pianist was playing in a carpeted area of the lobby. The reception area was directly across the atrium, with minimal lines. The bellhop continued on, and stopped by the reception area.

Blue Horizons sighed. "Hey, could you hurry up? I'm gonna be late to the MP meeting!" The driver of the car, a caramel unicorn stallion, rolled his eyes. "I told you, I have to pick up foreign delegates! I know traffic gets terrible at noon, but surely you could wait!" Blue Horizons facehoofed. "Ugh.. Just be quick. I have to be at the meeting by one!" The car eventually pulled over and came to a stop in front of Morning Star. Blue Horizons glanced at the gray unicorn, and gulped. She said quietly, "You didn't tell me Morning Star would be with you!" The driver shrugged and said, "I don't know who I was gonna pick up, I'm just the driver." Blue Horizons leaned on the left passenger window and tried to act casual, obviously doing a mediocre job. The driver stepper out, and trotted up to Morning Star, avoiding other travelers as if they were mines. He asked, "Morning Star? I'll be your driver. If you'd come with me..." The driver led Morning Star to the car, still acting as if the airport's sidewalks were minefields. He used his magic to open the door. Blue Horizons, still acting dreadfully nervous despite her attempts to relax, only tensed up more when she saw Morning Star about to sit next to her. She gulped, and asked, "M...Morning Star? I'm Blue Horizons... Surely you've heard of me?"

Ulrik was nodding a bit more approvingly over the interior which Snöhof had to admit looked rather splendid which was in a great contrast with the horrid outside of the building as this could even fit in back home in blessed Scandera and the federation as a whole.
"So is this where we are supposed to spend the day is it?" Ulrik asked as he stopped for a moment to notice that not too many people had arrived jet "well I suppose it could be worse!"

The younger said, "And another private ship! Should I tell it to go to Svolaarei Bay Marina, or what?" The older one started to complain. "Dammit, all I want to do is listen to the damned University of Svolaarei vs. West Tech game, and you frickin' gotta ask for frickin' 'advice' every time a damned ship comes in! Dear lord, yah baby, can you even feed yourself without asking for help? That guy who gave us the cakes made me miss the first two damned quarters! All I wanted to do today was relax with my damned beer, and listen to Svolaarei kick West Tech's asses! Ach... just clear it in. Tell them to go down to the front gate with that really polite guy, so I can frickin' yell at the sissies on West Tech's football team, and not at you, yah damned baby!" The younger rolled his eyes and spoke through the radio. "Uh, the sleek black craft over near the harbor, you can dock at Dock 6A. Assuming you're here for that party, go down to the front gate. Transportation should be there soon." The younger shut off the radio, and asked the older, "What's the score?"

Minna nodded as the young dockworker ended the transmission, then pulled the ship quietly into Dock 6A. It was tricky, as the hydrofoil's acceleration was very touchy, and she had to pull out several times to avoid slamming into the dock. After a few minutes, however, both she and the Prime Minister were off the ship, Erica in an expensive pantsuit, and Minna in full military uniform (She refused to wear a regular suit to any occasion that required formal dress.) The two of them walked to the front gate slowly, taking care to see what was on the way, neither of them having been to the Orlkjestadi capital before. Eventually, they reached the front gate and waited for the car, or limo, or whatever it was that would take them.

Morning Star nodded and followed the stallion to the car. The unicorn's posse of maids put his bags and other belongings into the trunk and hastily trotted back to the airport as Morning Star got inside the vehicle.

The colt seated himself next to Blue Horizons, adjusted his monocle and smoothed out his tail on his lap before he turned to the blue mare with a gentle smile and nodded.

"Indeed, Lady Horizons, I've heard much about you!" - Morning Star gracefully lifted Blue Horizons' foreleg and softly pushed his lips against her hoof. - "And needless to say, the stories of your struggle for pony rights have sparked a deep respect for you in me!"

Morning Star let Blue Horizons' leg go.

"So you will be attending the evening cruise too?" - the colt asked. - "I will be looking forward for a cup of tea and a nice chat with you then if that's the case!"

"Hardly that impressed, I grew up in Imerbürg so I am quite used to more spectacular decoration, however I must admit that I was rather surprised to find anything pleasing for the eye with the exterior decoration in mind!" Ulrik said when the bellhop said that he would be impressed by another building, after all they were only foreign, Snöhof on the other hand had not really spent so much time in Imerbürg with the decorated walls, the statues and the high Gothic buildings that all had been built with the goal of making the viewer feeling as small and insignificant as possible so she looked rather impressed at the bellhop before she noticed what Ulrik said and tried her best to looking as if she was not that impressed at all as they arrived at the desk.

"Most certainly!" Ulrik said cheerfully when they were asked for their names "We are his lordship Ulrik auf Vasterstjarna lord of Södersborg, Stenby and Valmofalt, lord squire of Söderborgs hussar regiment and in the name of his royal highness the ambassador for the absolute royal federation and guide to the Coalition of Ponyist states of the foreign relation advisory and Jungfrau Snöhof vildvindsdottir!" he said in a rather cheerful manner, after all he was a nobleman and from Snöhof's experience so were they quite found of naming their long titles even if she was quite surprised that he did not list of at least five generations of men in his family as they normally did.

He continued obnoxiously screeching into his phone in Orlkjestadi, and finally lifted it from his ear. "Are yah the Karlslandic delegation? Get in the cah." He then continued yelling into his phone as he got into the car, obviously arguing about something. His hyena-like screeching seemed endless.

Blue Horizons' face filled with red as Morning Star maneuvered his lips against her hoof. She looked ahead at the driver- he wasn't noticing anything, as the caramel stallion was either focusing on the road, the soft piano music playing through the radio, or both. Blue Horizons was sure the driver would have cracked a smartaleck remark. Blue Horizons said modestly, "I'm not a leader or anything, I'm just serving my community..." She hardened up as best as she could- which isn't that much- and responded "Yes, I'll be aboard the yacht, and I'm sure we will have delightful conversation. I'm looking forward to it, as well."

Blue Horizons revealed a medium-sized purse, barely big enough to fit a small breadbox. She took out a average-sized bottle of wine, its parchment-like label giving it a rustic feel. "I've heard you're somewhat of an alcohol connoisseur. Truth be told, I am a little of one, too. This is a vintage 1989 dessert wine from the Clementa Valley here in Orlkjestad. I was going to bring it to a meeting I have later today before our sunset cruise, but you can have it. It's from my personal collection, I hope you like it." Blue Horizons looked at Morning Star with a small, slightly nervous smile on her face.

He then continued yelling into his phone as he got into the car, obviously arguing about something. His hyena-like screeching seemed endless.

Bachmeier nodded, getting into the backseat first, she sat on the left, Minna sat on the right. The two rode in more-or-less silence, staring at the scenery. However, you could tell by the look on Bachmeier's face that she was getting more and more annoyed by the driver yelling on his phone. She didn't like it when people were on the phone and driving in general. After several minutes, she slammed her hands into the armrest and turned to face Minna.

"Dammit, what the hell is he screaming about?" She said this quietly enough that the driver probably didn't hear her.

"I have no idea. I just hope he calms down soon, I think I'm getting a headache."

Ulrik said when the bellhop said that he would be impressed by another building, after all they were only foreign, Snöhof on the other hand had not really spent so much time in Imerbürg with the decorated walls, the statues and the high Gothic buildings that all had been built with the goal of making the viewer feeling as small and insignificant as possible so she looked rather impressed at the bellhop before she noticed what Ulrik said and tried her best to looking as if she was not that impressed at all as they arrived at the desk.

"Oh, an Imerian." The woman's smile turned into a suspicious frown. "You may not want to go around declaring your full title. People here consider Imerians as the enemy, and they aren't exactly friendly towards... your kind. I heard the Republican Rifle Organization uses pictures of the Emperor for target practice." The bellhop, waiting by the elevator a short walk away, gave the delegates, and more precisely, Ulrik, the evil eye. The receptionist typed away on a computer on the desk, always keeping an eye on the delegates. The receptionist shouted toward the bellhop, who begrudgingly nodded and entered the elevator. The receptionist handed the two a pair of keycards, and said slowly, "Here are your keys to your room. There is a slot in the door handle that you put these in. It unlocks the door. Your room is 7912 on the 79th floor. Do you understand? Good. Now go to your room."

The driver stopped at an intersection. His brick sattelite phone still wedged between his shoulder and his ear, he took out a folded, coffee-stained piece of paper from the glove compartment of the car. He unfolded it, and revealed a bracket labeled World Cup 57 Bets. There were hastily written names of countries, several of their names scribbled out. He placed it on top of the glove compartment, almost forgetting to check the stoplight. He jolted when a driver behind him honked his horn, and put his foot to the gas pedal. He continued across a suspension bridge bridging a moderately-sized body of water, the glass and steel supertall structures others have seen before straight ahead.

"You shoot at pictures of your own emperor?!?" Ulrik said with horror in his voice, after all he knew foreigners were either barbarians or just slightly above the avarage but the very idea of killing someone who had the proper right of blood to rule a nation was just horrible and even Snöhof at his side made a shocked face at the revelation.
"But I would hardly worry about that jaungfrau, even though I must say that I do find it outright shocking how many territories and even proper nations does not like us!" he said and stroke his bushy sideburns that connected to his moustache just at the edge of his mouth in a good karl-franz manner which was true enough as despite the federation's best attempt to spread the high culture and help barbaric natives all over the globe did most people take a cold approach to the most blessed of nations.

"After all as the saying goes, 'I would hardly bet against a Scanderan of good blood when facing a foreigner!" he said in Imerian to the pony next to him as they turned around towards the elevator, and while Ulrik looked at the two keycards trying to figure out what the devil they were for and how they could open a door which she left in his capable hands as he would most likely be the one that could figure it out.

What he however missed doing that was the look the bellhop gave the nobleman so Snöhof tilted her head and gave the man a curious look, after all would a servant treat a superior like that back home would the superior beat the fellow senseless.
"Then again it might just be another one of those thing foreigners does!" she thought to herself as the pair entered the elevator.

The bellhop's face had a look of disgust when the Imerians got into the elevator with him. It took about 30 seconds to get to the 79th floor. The bellhop led the Imerians, begrudgingly, to a white door down a long corridor. The placard next to the door read 7912 in golden letters. The bellhop opened the door, revealing a large, spacious living room contemporarily decorated, with panoramic windows offering a view of the harbor. The bellhop simply threw the Imerian luggage into the room, saying angrily to the Imerians, "Here you go, your frickin' highness. Maybe while I'm at it I could wash your damned feet or kiss your ring or something." He hastily left, spitting at the floor as he made his way back to the elevators.

"If you wish!" Ulrik said more to bother the rather rude servant, he did however make a note to report the fellow to the owner of the establishment as he was just acting rude right not.
"It is however 'my lordship!' or 'my lord' not 'your highness'!" he continued as the rude fellow disappeared down into the elevator as Urlik closed the door behind him shaking his head over the clear lack of respect foreigners showed their social betters before he sat down shaking his head with the paper that he had brought with him to pass the time and on the front page Snöhof could read something about an scientist putting forth a theory about resurrecting the dead with chemicals or somesuch that had awoken a rather heavy debate back home.

"Uhhmm kind master would it be possible to explore the hotel a bit?" Snöhof asked as she looked around the room, it did not seem as the most fun way to spend the day and Ulrik looked at her for a moment before sighing and rising up.
"I suppose you would think that, though I would be damned if I let you run around on your own causing all manner of problems!" he said as he put down the paper "It would also be a good way to see if we could get a look at what kind of people would show up and of course we could always find out where to get something to eat!" he continued as he walked towards the door and out in the hotel with the white pony following him.

''Goddamn parties and foreign stuff'' Lyra thought, sitting in a comfy armchair and watching out of a small window. ''I'm supposed to have a foreign minister for things like these.. But nooo, of course I can't trust my foreign minister because he's a goddamn communist! If I see even one bottle of alcohol over there, I swear to Celestia I am going to smash both the bottle and the whole ship!''

The Air Force One, a heavily modified 747-400 touched down and taxied to the terminal building. Aircraft's own airstairs were lowered and Lyra walked out with several human bodyguards. They proceeded through customs and found themselves outside the terminal with no limos or other forms of transportation in sight. ''Well this sure is a lousy reception'' Lyra sighed.

Orlkjestad wrote: "Welcome to the Grand Seaside Hotel. Shall I take your luggage?"

As Yalij looked at the chauffer he bowed apologetically and averted his gaze embarrassed, thinking he had caused the man trouble by waiting there and looking around. Yalij was not familiar with the custom of the bellhop. "N-no... I mean no thank you, you are too kind to me. I can do it myself. I apologize if I am wasting your time having you wait here for me." Yalij said as he picked his luggage up and prepared to enter the hotel with a smile of excitement.

I wonder what kind of things I can expect to see? I suspect that Maven sent me for a reason though. I hope it's nothing serious. Yalij thought as he headed in and slightly recoiled instinctively when he saw Parliamentary Chancellor Lyra and her guardsmen.

Hippostania's Parliamentary Chancellor is here? By Fornt's beard, I am hoping she doesn't know I'm a Spirean, nor the High Chancellor's ward. That would make things rather tense. Perhaps if I behave like a...foreigner? It would be impossible. Yalij was far too Spirean to hide it. The Spireans are known for their kind sense of restraint and their rigid systems of politeness. Yalij was very polite, and had a very hard time being laid back when he was not among his squad of uncorruptibles, and even then he didn't have many friends in his squad so he kept to himself most of the time. There would be no way to hide his manner at all.

The corridor the bellhop had stormed though a short while ago was decorated with ornate golden wall lamps mounted on a baby blue wallpaper featuring depictions of shells and ships. The carpet was a rich royal blue, with peach patterns. Signs announcing the location of the elevator hall and the emergency exit were hung overhead and on the walls. Every so often, a couple or a single person would emerge from the doors of nearby hotel suites, dressed in fine garb. One man, walking down the corridor as he talked on his mobile phone, accidentally bumped into Ulrik and Snöhof. He said, "My apologies, sir, madam," and continued walking down the corridor.

A black midsize luxury sedan pulled up to the curb of the terminal, a tall man with messy black hair stepping out of it. He walked towards Lyra, holding a piece of paper. He read off of it, and asked, "Ms. Lyra? I'm your chauffeur." He noticed the guards, and said, "You do realize, you're going to a party on a yacht, not a raid on a terrorist compound in the Gastine Territory? Anyway, the car can only fit 5, including myself. Anyway, if you would follow me..." the man acted as if he was stumbling to the car, and laughed a little to himself.

"Oh thank you, and yes truth be told I do appreciate a fine liquor" - Morning Star said as he accepted the bottle with a graceful bow and slipped it into one of the saddlebags hidden below his cloak before he smiled back radiantly. - "Pity it is that I don't have anything on myself to return the favor..."

Morning Star then turned away to the window to enjoy the scenery but the view of endless rows after rows of towering constructs of metal and glass blurring into one greyish mass as the car speeded through the streets bored him rather fast so he once again turned to Blue Horizons, using the spare seconds of the mare's absent attention to measure her with his eyes over his monocle and then again smiling charmingly as he asked:

"So we're going to arrive to the Grand Seaside Hotel shortly, right? Will you be staying there as well?"
