"These days, mostly small things like jewelry. A lot of wedding rings, particularly. But there are lots of special orders too, so you never know," Mina said. Shr spoke with fondness, fond of the memories she had working alongside her father. Despite the blisters and cuts, she loved the work. It took patience, a steady hand, and an excellent eye for detail. But quickly she'd showed an aptitude for the creative side of the work.

Vortiaganica: Lamoni I understand fully, of course. The two (Lamoni & Lyras) are more inseparable than the Clinton family and politics.
Triplebaconation: Lamoni commands a quiet respect that carries its own authority. He is the Mandela of NS.

I am always amazed that such a beautiful object, like a wedding ring, can be crafted from some materiel and a fire." Nursultan then got nervous that he'd misspoken. "Well, I'm not sure quite how it's done in Nalaya. In Qyryqstan it includes materiels and fire."

The kind of thing they let green as grass officers do."

"And it is no different here. The work begins with raw ore from Tatev," Mina said, trying to reassure him. Nursultan seemed so worried. "Here, have you eaten breakfast yet? There is plenty of time to get food."New Edom wrote:Adah smiled at Vanadesse. "Snefaldian, ah! And yes, my regiment was in Premislyd. Cold, cold cold! I was just in the northern operations. "I was there for more of it than I would have chosen," Vanadessë said wryly. "After the last liberation of the camps, my work was done. We worked forward of the Army, trying to find those places and do as much damage to them as we could. My monkey-wrench throwing arm saw lots of use." She looked over at Moira with a friendly smile. "You are Lamonian, yes?"

Mina, meanwhile, just smiled at Nursultan. "In the mess hall, there should be food. It is...tabbouleh and grilled lamb with dark bread and roasted vegetables today. It will be excellent. The Banak cooks better than my mother—don't tell her I said that."

Vana arched an eyebrow delicately at Adah's other question. "In Sevan? They are not so common. You know, most people just date."

As Lori went to get her uniform, hopefully having Sam follow behind, Lori talked to the young army bound woman. "I couldn't be a soldier....I don't think I could handle the pressure that war would put on me or my dad like that. I respect the soldiers who go out there and put their lives on the line for us, but I just can't see myself following them without getting scared and spending my entire service behind whatever cover I could find while my colleagues all get shot at. I could see myself being a nurse though. Tending to wounds and helping people try to find some sort of relaxation amidst all the chaos around them. I like to think of that as a possible career for me."
Lori didn't seem to notice Adah was checking her out, instead she was focused on trying out her uniform. She found a nearby mirror and made a few poses before giggling like a schoolgirl. She then looked for Sam. Gotta show him my new threads, she thought.
