That would be going beyond Canon, because they aren't. They're Equines and they are shown to be in one position at any given time and they're not even shown to be omniscient by any means of the word or there would be no story.

We could, and we generally would but since Celestia and Luna do not have any presence in Mystria at all, Merris is the only Alicorn in the region.

But having an alicorn is a literal godmod...does Merris have any relation to Celestia and Luna?

If we're going with YellowApple's idea, an alicorn could be born from any pegasi-unicorn pair. It'd just be extremely rare.

I'm assuming the alicorn resulting from such a birth would not be god tier....god tier alicorns would remain as only Luna and Celestia.
