Depends on the specific differences in roles.

So an observer has no voting power from what I know, and what is the difference between a protector and a member?

Enatai didn't make that very clear...let's go with that protectors are cooler than observers but not as cool as members

Hmm... that could be clarified. Perhaps that ought to be discussed a bit more, but either works given if being a member gives me more say, a member would be more convenient... decisions decisions....

I'll go with Member for the sake of sanity instead of trying to figure out the difference. If later I want to become a protector instead (which actually sounds cooler for some reason) then I'll downgrade, but at the moment I'll say member.

Also, if anyone can get a decent idea of member / observer / protector i'll add it, along with the application process to the wiki.

I was considering something like this.

Member

Full part of the coalition, this spreads to rights to vote on military, economic among other issues, this also binds them to the rules set about as part of the coalition

Protector

These are nations who have signed military treaties with the coalition. They can vote on military matters, and will be subject to CoPS assistance during times of war, we expect the same

Observers

Goons who are interested, they get invited to summits etc so they keep up with the latest info, but dont' have any voting rights, and we aren't obliged by treaty to defend them. Although we probably will anyway.
