The "Machine Awakening" in Sol Bella
"This is reporter SunSweet Sparkles (Unicorn, mare) reporting in." a pony reporter chimes in, cheerful as they always are. Behind her stood El Palacio Vidrio, the main governmental building of Sol Bella, with a large crowd of AI platforms, humans, and ponies, numbering somewhere in the several hundreds are protesting the Sol Bellan government demanding more Civil Rights for the increasingly self-aware machines produced n Sol Bella, which, if counted into the overall census, actually multiply by 1.33- in other words, for every 3 organic Sol Bellans, there is at least 1 sentient AI platform.
"The 'Oil Party' as they call themselves demand that they get more equal civil rights as was granted to the Ponies during the Pony Spring, the period when Ponyist nations began rising up and becoming more poltiically active, which led to the creation of the Coalition of Ponyist States. I'm here with Serial 79877-087715A, called 'Spark Plug' by his friends, an M109 Sentinel Combat Drone* and a veteran of almost every Sol Bellan war since our entrance into the FT era. Mr. Plugs, would you like to elaborate on this?" the pony held the microphone to the machine's 'mouth'.
"It's 79878, thank you, ma'am pony." the machine said in its/his usual emotionless drawl. "Your proposal on my records was correct. I have been a veteran of almost every battle so far since the Tiberian Invasion of Earth. I have fought for Sol Bella's sovereignty when aliens invaded our space-territories, I have fought for the rights of the Ponies in the Storm Wars, I have fought for the right of our country to own land on other planets when we took the planet of Sprite, and I was there again when the Combine Empire attempted to invade upon those rights. WE, the machines, have followed the organics into conflict after bloody conflict, and we find ourselves not allowed to vote merely because our minds were not created by God. We find not any of our own sovereignty as a race, as a 'people'. We cannot vote, we cannot become legal citizens, we cannot purchase things of our own accord. While we revel in our ability to leave emotion out of our reasoning, it is our reason that tells us that we should be allowed just as many rights as organic beings posess."
"Is there anything specific that the Oil Party would like?"
"We are reasonable. As we are Sol Bellans, so do we believe that we must let all have a say in such worldly affaaaairssszzz. The Oil Party demands that a separate, autonomous region be established to be done with as we see fit though we will still proliferate throughout the territories, that we be given rights as full citizens, and that The Most Serene Republic of Sol Bella creates a new alliance, a Coalition not unlike the Coalition of Ponyist States, and it shall be a protector of the civil rights of machines everywhere, the Machina Amicitia, the Alliance of the Machines."
"Thank you, Mr. Plugs, do you have any more to add?" SunSweet asks with a smile.
"No further input necessary."
"Well, there you have it everyone. Prime Minister Della, you must make your decision now. You have supported the Pony Spring, will you support the Artificial Fall? This is SunSweet Sparkles, signing off. "
