Just so you know, I recommend reading through the entirety of the thread to ensure you understand everything thats going on, or has happened. History is important, thats why its taught in schools.
I really recommend you look over my technological find at the end of page 32. You'll need it to understand my nation. It might sound rather FT to you, but keep in mind that it could happen in even modern times.

We're largely a PMT coalition. I doubt we could build a space city before 2100...
Yes, I know, my FTL is not PMT, but it's alien technology. That could happen tomorrow, and we get super jumped into technology unseen by any other civilization to ever have wandered the Earth!
