At face value, the Altarian Empire approves: however, we believe the military size number is incorrectly written, as it is listed as both five percent, as well as 2 billion out of a 2 billion population nation. It is likely this was intended to be signifcantly smaller, and we will await further clarification.

Ah, my apologies, copy + paste is a wonderful tool as long as you know which number to take, I believe all should be in order now with proper 110,000,000 employed men.

All of us here at the Imperial House would like to send our condolences to the nation of Treorai for their loss today, and wish that their new leader pushes their nation even further in its goals.

Now, on to our next message...

(OoC: Just so everyone knows, these troops had already been equipped with their Terminus Armor, and these specific troops were one of the few to currently have the Pulser AR. The Empire is in the process of giving them to all troops.)

It was silent, as space tends to be, as the Destiny-Class Space Transport Mystic was moving just 12,000 troops to Pinnacle Station, the most advanced training facility in the Grand Empire, set in orbit around the moon.

Most of these 12,000 troops were going to be moved in to replace those stationed in the Federal State of Rime. They were going to use the simulators on the station to train against Scorpion military training programs, and be capable of fighting back Scorpion forces, should they invade.

She was flying, with an ETA of 2 hours. The crew were calm, as they always were, knowing there were 2 Normandy-Class Frigates nearby, should anything happen. Most of the troops were either in the mess halls or in their bunks. They were comfortable enough, but this wasn't a luxury liner. It was a transport designed to carry these men to and from Pinnacle Station in 5 hours. Only one other known ship could do that, and it was the Normandy-Class Frigate.

Suddenly, the Navigator became worried.
One of the Scanners had detected a small signature floating nearby, presumable in orbit of the moon. If it was needed, Pinnacle Station had several GARDIAN lasers that could blast it away if it was about to collide with the station, and the CBT layers could repel most of the debris. But that wasn't the point. The Captain of the Ship, Commander Gnish Markson, instantly called up Pinnacle Station.

"Pinnacle? This is Destiny-Class Mystic. We've found some unidentified signatures out here. No life forms on board. I'm not too sure of what this is Pinnacle. But we need to find out."

"Copy that Mystic. We're sending out ISV Star-Dust to get it. Over and Out."

Markson nodded, but he had never liked this sort of thing. The idea of being the only nation out here, and having an unidentified signature. But he didn't have a choice anymore. Star-Dust was gonna take care of it. It wasn't his problem anymore.

Pinnacle Station

"Come on! Move it, move it!" shouted Commander Christopher King, Captain of the ISV Star-Dust. From the moment he had been told about this signature, he had been rushing all of his men onto the ships. We didn't know what was out there, and it was only fitting that the Grand Empire's most advanced warship go check it out.

"We don't have all day! Get your ass in there now!"
The last few men were grumbling something. Probably coming from one of them gambling matches down in the Pinnacle Casinos Rest Area. They tend not to like when they're about to win nearly a thousand credits, and suddenly get pulled away for a mission in outer space that might not even be anything.

Still, they all knew it had to be done. Whether or not they liked it, this was an important mission. King knew that the most.

As the last few boarded Star-Dust, So did King. He passed Decontamination, and closed the doors behind him. He instantly went past the CIC, and went up to his quarters. He needed to be able to have a view of the entire ship at all times during this operation.

Massive alarms started to beep across the hanger. Hundreds of people tapped their computers, unlocking the Star-Dust from the facility, and watched as it slowly moved backwards, past the Mass effect field, and out into space.

But they never knew what they were going to do. This mission was Top Secret. Only the crew knew about it, at least for now.

Star-Dust moved backwards, eventually exiting the base completely, watching as it was entirely out in space. Its Anti-Proton thrusters turned on, and the ship began to fly "downwards", to go under the station and to the signature, bookmarked by Mystic when it flew by.

It took them 2 hours to reach the signature, but as they arrived, they were....shocked, to say the least. It surely wasn't an asteroid. It was the very thing that Commander Markson had feared hours ago. It was...a starship. Not of Imperial origin, hell, didn't even look human. King knew the shock the crew was in, but he had to act quickly. He contacted Anthony Lewis, Chief Military Operator on the ship, and said, "Tony. Get an X-47 out there and check that place out. Full squad, all 20. Now."

Tony didn't even respond. He ordered M6 Captain Kevin Walker to pick his squad, and get out there.
In the space of a few heartbeats, Kevin had picked out his team, mostly M5s or 4s, and 2 M3s. They boarded the X-47 in the Hanger Bay, and, as the door opened up, the Ascension ManHunt 520 started its hover engines, and the locks let go. Slightly turning on the back engines, ManHunt 520 moved forward slowly, until they passed the mass effect field. From there, they turned on their back engines to full power, and flew off towards the ship. As they arrived, they found the ship was never originally planned to have a hanger bay, and seemed more like a scout ship than anything else. Using one of the many holes around the ships hulls, ManHunt 520 inserted the team, and left. Walker was on his own from now on.

Unidentified Signature

Walker was careful. He knew that this "alien" thing was unknown. Technically, the ship herself was valuable to the Grand Empire. But not everything was in perfect shape. The hulls of the ship seemed to be outdated, even by Imperial standards. Not to mention whatever was left was half broken and just about useless. They walked carefully through the small corridors. They didn't have a general layout of the ship, but their sensors could pick up walls, stairs, weapons, engines, and other things like them.

They continued to walk through a seemingly abandoned ship, attempting to find any evidence where it came from, if these aliens were still alive, and what type of technology was on the ship. It had appeared to be completely and utterly empty. As they walked through, they eventually reached what had appeared to be the engine room. Walker contacted King and said, "Sir? This engine is....its online. It might be valuable, but we haven't checked the entire ship. We're gonna continue on here."

Back on the Star-Dust, King simply nodded, and let Walker continue with his mission.

Walker turned around and said, "Let's keep moving. I don't like this place."

As they continued onward, all they could find were broken consoles and the briefing room. After walking downstairs, they arrived at a small elevator looking door. Walker walked up to it, examining it. He looked around the door until he found a small scanner on the side, probably the way to call the elevator. Walker pressed it several times, to no avail.

He looked back at his team and said, "OK, half of us check out the rest of the ship. The rest stick with me and we open this thing. In any case, we repel down the elevator shaft...if this even is an elevator."

He quickly tapped 10 people, and they all went off, under the command of M5 Gunnery Sergeant Paul Turner.

The rest nodded, and began working on opening the door. The last thing Walker wanted was to have to blast the door open, but if he needed to, he wouldn't hesitate. The engineers on the team worked on the door for a couple of minutes, but eventually told Walker that, "The doors just too damn outdated for anything to work on it. These look like the electrical wires of the 40s!"

Walker shook his head, and said, "Get some IX7s on that door. We're gonna get it open and find whats on the other side one way or another."
The demo specialist on the team looked long and hard at Walker, then just nodded, and took out 2 packs of IX7. He stuck them on the top and bottom parts of the door, and moved the team behind a wall nearby. Walker contacted Turner and said, "Turner. Door is shit, so we're blowing it out. Don't piss your pants when you hear the explosions."

A small chuckle could be heard on the other side, and Walker simply nodded at the demo spec. He understood, and pressed his detonator.

BANG!

Quick, and precise. Just the way Walker liked it. The door had been blown back, hit the other side of the shaft, got broken in half from the impact, and proceeded to fall down the shaft. As Walker moved to the edge, he looked down, but couldn't see the bottom. He turned around and said, "Anyone got a flare?"

An "I do!" came from the back of the group, as the M4 walked up to Walker, and handed him the flare. He turned it on, and threw the flare down the shaft. It kept going down for about 4 seconds, until it hit the bottom, not 50 feet below. Walker nodded and said, "OK, lets get set up here."

The troops began to move quickly, grabbing some of the ropes they had brought, and grabbed them hard. Going down would be Captain Walker, 2 M3s, and 1 M5. The remaining troops would be commanded by Sergeant Kennith Miller, and were to use the ropes to help the troops go down the shaft. It was a smooth transaction, and Walker managed to get down to the bottom safely, as did the others. They all turned on Night-Vision on their HUDs, and continued to walk through the still "uncharted" area of the ship. Suddenly, Walker saw something rather...odd. A small room, off to the far right end of the hallway they were in, was slightly glowing. He started walking far more cautiously now, unsure of what to expect in that room. He slammed his back up against the wall next to the entrance, and slightly tilted over to look inside.

It was...something. Impossible to know what it was right now, but it sure as hell seemed like it was working. Walker didn't know what it was, and he preferred that to be found out in a lab. But King had been watching that through the HUD Camera on his PCC. He contacted Walker and said, "Take that back to the ship. We'll see what Command wants to do with it."

Walker nodded. He didn't like it, but he wasn't about to disobey an order from King. He moved in, slowly, and grabbed whatever "it" was. He was forced to let go of his Pulser, and let it just hang from him. He grabbed the machine, and turned around, when suddenly, "Gunnery Sergeant Paul Turner! We're under attack by some fucking undead looking things. We need some support, right fucking now!"

Walker instantly said, "Turner, get back to the elevator shaft. We'll let a larger crew clean this mess up later. We need to get the hell out of here.
Kennith, get ready to pull us up!"
The small team that had gone down with Walker started to run back to the elevator shaft, arriving and beginning to go back up the ropes. Just as Walker jumped up to the level, Turner ran past him, turning around and crouching to shoot at the things chasing him. Walker couldn't do anything, he was too occupied carrying the machine to be able to shoot his gun. But the first thing on his mind was That shuttle better be there when we get back!

He decided to patch over and said, "ManHunt 520, do you copy?! We're being chased by an unknown entity, and need extraction now. We've retrieved some kind of machine from the ship's armory, and need to get back up to Star-Dust. RIGHT FUCKING NOW!"

They instantly responded, saying, "Copy, this is ManHunt 520. We are here with doors open, and are awaiting your arrival."

They all started to run towards the EZ, some stopping to crouch down and shoot at the things as they ran towards them, and the others just ignoring the fact they had a gun at all. They ran up stairs, past corners, over tables, and through holes in the walls to get to the EZ. As they arrived, the first one to jump in was Walker, as the rest of the team set up a defensive position around it while some continued to run on-board. As the number of soldiers still on the ship got smaller, the number of attacking things grew. As Sergeant Kennith jumped on board, and everyone on the Ascension were shooting at the things, the last remaining marine, M3 Corporal Richard Thompson turned around to jump on the shuttle. However, as he turned around, one of the things leaped from way back, and jumped on him. It started biting the armor all over the place, ripping the paint off. Before long, others jumped on him, and with the combined force of so many zombies, they managed to break one of the oxygen cables inside the suit, and his oxygen started to run out like crazy. He still fought hard, even with his air running short, he grabbed his Pulser, and started shooting all over the place. His last words were, "GET THE HELL OUT OF HERE! GO!" ManHunt 520 knew he was right, and closed the doors to the shuttle, breaking right, away from the ship, and heading back to Star-Dust.

Walker was quiet, just holding the machine in his hands. He turned his comms on, connected to King, and said, "Mission Accomplished...more or less. We didn't retrieve much, just this junk of scrap metal. That engine is still active though. Ship is infested, so I would think twice before just sending men in there to deal with the problem. Um... Corporal Richard didn't make it. We got ambushed by some weird specimen on that ship. He got overwhelmed, and they ate out his oxygen supply..." Walker stayed silent. Then, King said, "I'm sorry." Comms just dropped, and Walker strengthened his grip on the machine. They were out, but right across from Walker was an empty seat...

ISV Normandy-Class Star-Dust

As Walker reached StarDust, he was taken by surprise when King came specifically to him. He looked at him straight and said, "Military Command is waiting for us in the Briefing Room. Bring the machine."

King turned around and walked off, and Walker right behind him. They entered the briefing room, and they saw different generals, the Minister of Defense, and Emperor X all on the monitor. He was taken by surprise by their appearance, but instantly saluted, as did King.

Emperor X simply nodded and said, "At ease. What's this about alien technology recovered from the wreckage, Walker."

King was a little surprised by the Emperor's informality, but he didn't dare call it out.

Walker quickly responded, "My Lord, my team and I had repelled down an elevator shaft when we found an engineering that had appeared to be glowing. As we got closer, we found this..." Walker put the machine on the table, making it visible to them all.

"We don't know what it is, how it works, or where it came from. All we know is that it was on that ship, and it appears to be more advanced than our state-of-the-art technology."

Emperor X nodded, still thinking through all of his options. By now, this was something of the most utter importance, and the Emperor had to make the final decision. While Walker, King, the Generals, and the Minister of Defense could all provide assistance, they would not have the final say. But Emperor X did not even ask them.

"Very well Walker. I am sorry for the loss of your corporal. I will ensure he is given an Imperial Honorary Medal."

Walker simply nodded, as Emperor X continued.

"King, I want you and your ship to take this machine to Arcturus Station. Tell them that on my direct orders they are to study this, and find out what it is. Anything after that is none of either of your concerns."

King nodded and said, "Yes, My Lord. I shall do it at once."
Emperor X nodded, and cut the transmission. King looked straight at Walker and said, "Looks like our mission is over just yet, Walker."
Walker just nodded, as they both began to walk back to Star-Dust, carrying the machine with them.

Near to Earth, Nearing Arcturus Station

Star-Dust had left Pinnacle Station nearly 6 hours ago, and just now it was arriving at Arcturus to drop off the machine. Most, including Walker and the rest of the Shore Party from the alien vessel, had decided to rest. However, King couldn't manage it. He had too much on his shoulder, especially with this machine now. As Star-Dust arrived, EDI notified him, and he instantly got into his hardsuit and grabbed the machine. We went down to the CIC, and proceeded out the airlock, onto the station. From there, he met with 2 Arcturus guards, both wearing Terminus Armor, and gave the machine to them.

Just 2 days later, Star-Dust would drag the ship, slowly, over to Arcturus Station. It was placed in orbit, and eventually stripped apart, with the engine still intact. Any of the things inside had been killed by the 27th Marine Company, and the body of Corporal Thompson was recovered.

After months of constant experimentation and restless observations, they made a breakthrough.

The engines that the Grand Empire currently uses were based off of an advanced chemical rocket system that, by using Element 0 as a fuel source, propelled the ship to over 120,000 kilometers/hour. This worked fine, but it was difficult to be able to transport supplies constantly to and from the Mars colonies.

However, the ship's engine technologies made a breakthrough that the Grand Empire, previously, did not have the technology to accomplish. All that changed after the discovery of the ship.

FTL Drives:
FTL drive cores work by exposing element zero to electric currents, creating mass effect fields. It reduces the mass of an object—such as a starship—to a point where accelerations faster than the speed of light are possible. This brand new discovery boost-jumped the Empire's technological advancements, as they instantly began to develop their own FTL Drives, based off of the ship's designs. After achieving the first drive, the attached it to a small probe, and launched it into space. The lone pilot inside activated the drive, and managed to reach Mars in just 13 minutes (With the ship achieving 500,000 km/s). After a Normandy-Class was refitted with this drive, and tested, it too managed to reach Mars in just 13 minutes. Since then, the Empire began a refitting project to add FTL drives to any and all starships in the Grand Empire's possession.

The machine found in the engineering laboratory was actually a spare piece for the Engine. This spare piece gave the Empire another basis to start off of, and managed to advance how well the engine was designed, and then, built.

These discoveries certainly jumped the Grand Empire forward, and, without them, the Mars colonies could often be in trouble, as it takes nearly 140 days for ships to successfully travel from Earth to Mars. This development allowed ships to be backed with supplies in less than a quarter hour if they are needed. One of the better parts of this technology is that it doesn't matter the size of the ship herself. As long as it has an FTL drive, it is capable of this jump.

Since the beginning of the Grand Empire, scientists and experts have looked towards better ways of expanding our technological views. Especially after the colonies on Mars had been set up, they started to look at many different ways to achieve faster responses, but to no avail. Because of these drives, the Empire can support the colonies on Mars, protecting it from any and all threats to them.

Unless you want me to send up a shuttle with a few Exo-Atmospheric fighters, there's not much I can do. My nation doesn't have a very advanced space military in comparison to most PMT nations.

Wait...what? Just so we all know, that technology has already been reproduced, and is being implemented to our ISVs (Which includes the Normandy-Class and Everest-Class)

Wait...what? Just so we all know, that technology has already been reproduced, and is being implemented to our ISVs (Which includes the Normandy-Class and Everest-Class)

I think I misunderstood the story, zombie aliens aren't invading Earth?

The White Knights:

Lyrics:

No horizons
No horizons
Our greatest dreams will lead us onward
Let us forge ahead
Making clear the way
Our Knights!
Swear the oath right here
Onward!

No horizons
World encompassed
Our greatest dreams will lead us onward
Souls this young and free
Know no limits
Now is the time
Come!
Grab life while we can
It's time
Onward

Say what to the what now?

No. The story is saying that during one of the Destiny-Class Transports routes to Pinnacle Station from earth, it found a signature. A Normandy went out to check it out, and a whole bunch of stuff happened. They towed that ship to Arcturus Station, who, after studying the ships engine, managed to make some FTL drives! (Dont worry, not Mass Effect drives [that, by my calculations, go well over 1 billion km/s], only allows the ships to go 500,000 km/s. Though quite fast, not TOO fast.) Basically, this technology is currently in the process of being integrated to the other Normandies in our Space Fleet. Our Dreadnought is on the plans for refit, but its not quite there yet, though our next one (Reaper [lol]), currently under construction, did have those plans implemented.

As for the aliens, they have yet to be found again. We do not know if they are still in existence today, even. However, it did spark interest in the Grand Empire, as it now ensures our public that we are not alone in this universe, much less this Galaxy.

The last post before that happened was Fillium's, which looked rather weird. Perhaps we just need to jump to page 34. I suggest we keep talking about random and stupid stuff (like the war we're currently in) until we break 34. Then we can go back to more important stuff (like what your sister is doing this Tuesday...)

But Justin Bieber is Canadian so that makes no sense.
