It was supposed to be an assault gun, but it came out a bit on the heavy side. So, they decided to leave it for defensive purposes.

Only 12 of them were built. You won't see them deployed anywhere in the battlefield unless you are attacking a base on my own soil.

Also, there's a reason I'm going broke. All the nobles in my nation started wasting money on expensive and possibly impractical crap.

This is also analogous to the German Maus tank, which weighted around 200 tons, I believe.

Of the few projects my nation wasted money on that wasn't much of a waste were the railroad superguns. Also analogous to the German superguns used in WW2.

It's also much, much bigger. At lest 24 feet tall, by my estimates. Bigger = more armor to cover the whole thing. More armor = more weight. Do you mean less total armor or less armor thickness? If it's the former your armor is going to be extremely thin, and if its the latter it's going to be extremely heavy. you can take the high weight, but remember your engine has to propel that weight. Big engine = more space taken up = less room for ammo, armor, or people.

It's an actual US prototype tank. They never used it for the obvious reasons (slow, heavy, poor manuverability.) I gave it an engine with slightly more horsepower to compensate (They used the Pershing's engine in this tank, which was partially why it was so slow,) but it's primarily designed for sieging fortifications or being utilized as a tank destroyer. (They switched the designation to GMC at some point, which is more of what it REALLY is, then switched it back.) The barrel does have some degree of rotation (10° right, 11° left traverse, 19.5° to -5°elevation.) The lack of the turret is also another reason why it was scrapped in favor of the next two models, the T29 and T30, which both had rotating turrets.

I sacrificed armor in the back.

Figured a defensive tank would have enough allied troops behind it to prevent the enemy from getting a drop on its back.
