The year is 1948. You are currently a comfortable former immigrant, and current resident of Quandzo de Fenlie Fenzi, an island of Imperial DaiHan. The city is a strange one -- skyscrapers and run-down apartment buildings mix with traditional pagodas and untamed forest which has crept through areas too rough to build on. A somewhat militaristic police force seems to be completely absent until it is required, at which point they arrive in great numbers from what seems to be nowhere. Life is relatively comfortable -- simple jobs pay for simple things, and you probably live in a small apartment or townhouse, as few full houses exist within the city limits.

Things have been normal. Until recently. You have seen an increasingly large number of sharply dressed chaps sharing apartments with binoculars and radios. More police walk the streets. People communicate ambiguously, as though they are being observed. Shopkeepers seem to be urging you to buy things you shouldn't need. You're the only ones who seem to notice.

Physical Description(or image): Sir Alexei Rose is a rather attractive young man. Always clean shaven, he makes no attempt to hide the scar that marks his left cheek, a stark reminder of the dangerous life Indeosan nobles lived even while they were children. Black hair frames a face unmarked by the ravages of time, and serves as contrast to the rose-red eyes that inspired his assumed surname. He measures precisely six feet tall, and is of a slim build that belies a carefully-maintained physique. Despite being on the run and in hiding, he wears the symbol of his House and his own sigil(the rose) atop obviously royal clothing, and rarely goes without the sword that he carried throughout his time in the military.
Very Brief Backstory: Alexei was born into one of the richer families in Indeos, which was enough for the lower classes to believe he was lucky. After surviving several assassination attempts and finally joining and leading the Imperial army to victory in a minor state bordering Indeos, he was convinced otherwise. He accepted his Knighting, said goodbye to his family, and departed for the Protectorate of DaiHan in an attempt to shake off the assassins who so often plagued Indeosan nobles. Now in DaiHan, he prefers to send one of the men who came with him to do errands than do them himself, as the danger of assassination still hangs over his head.

It is a tightly regulated free market. Most people generally make enough money to live comfortably. The truly poor are relatively rare.
