Also War, you made a minor error: Omega wasn't the one who began the Neostigma research, it was Mentar. I don't think Zeta would make such an error.

Last but not least: Zeta is making a very valid point... ;)

Yes! He strike team expands!

It now consists of:
A Nighthawk, a CIA agent, Zeta, and Dugal. Everyone contribute!

I thought it was established that Beta started the Neotigma research. He was playing scientist while Mentar was playing military leader. Mentar just created animal people, like Ansed.

If a Flying Navy comes, the Americans will just use their nifty back-up plan. Warp reality to resemble a 1960's music video.

why are you sending a spook to do a special operative's job?

Also flying navies are prone to death via missiles.... from aquatic navies

Nope. It's always been Mentar.

Question: If we can teleport fleets outa Tokyo bay, why doesn't Vlad get an oil tanker, fill that with say C-4, then teleport it over the Roma capital building, exploding it upon impact

Because of reasons.

Or anti-teleportation fields.

Don't get me started on the science behind it, unless you're interested in the same bullshit I gave you for the superpower-suppressing bracelets.

The similar question was asked IC wise about the Nighthawks. I explained it. Though one could assume that Janner has fields constructed to counter act teleportation.

Course we could go with the solution to the eagles issue in LOTR: just ignore it.

Tolken explained in the narrative that Gandalf was friends with the large eagles (he's friends with every fucking creature isn't he), and actually the eagles are there own race, they claimed neutrality in the whole conflict (Like the ents did... for as long as it lasted). The eagles were actually sentient and did favors for Gandalf when he asked.

Gandalf knew about the corruptive nature of the ring, and knew that these eagles, due to being sentient, could be drawn to the ring, and seek to take it for themselves, Which is why they didn't just fly there

Edit: Not to say I am not fine with ignoring it/ hand waving it as something Janner did (boy is it going to be awkward for Quinn if he ever goes to the capital), but you should know Tolken didn't just ignore it

A lot of shit never happens in the films... did you know in the third book the War actually gets to the Shire? Because it did (it was foreshadowed sort of in the first movie, when Frodo looked into that weird future telling bowl of something or other when he visited the elves). And you know what? It was actually pretty fucking awesome thinking that 5 to 6 hundred hobbits with farm equipment were able to beat back the invading force (To be fair, they did fight dirty, then again the invaders were wearing plate mail)

I am aware of that. The eagles thing was just the big thing to me. Though it begs the question, if the eagles could be corrupted, couldn't entire fellowship?

They were, and did, remember Boromir? Do you recall the struggle of Frodo's duty as he wore the burden of the ring, with even Sam starting to seemingly fall into it near the end? it was corrupting them, and really the only reason it didn't effect the rest of the party was they got split up fairly quick in their adventure

Sean Bean is a living spoiler. Whatever character he plays, whatever movie he's in, we already know he's going to die one way or the other.

Fixed that for you

I have only seen one movie that betrays this rule, but it was the Silent Hill movie so we try to ignore it exists anyway

But if the Ring takes time to corrupt, then why not still use the Eagles? Flying to Mordor would be quicker than the time it would take to corrupt every single Eagle.

Thus the Silent part.

It was pretty terrible, but they're making a sequel anyway.

It'd doesn't need to corrupt every single eagle, it only needs to make one really want to have it, and it can free its self from there.

Take Smeagol, he and his buddy find the Ring, and the buddy wants to keep it, however he wants it more, so he chokes out his friend (killing him), and keeps it for himself for over 200 years

Take the proud hero Isildur, he killed Sauron! He had the ring over the lava of mount doom, only saving it was a chain... and then the strength of men failed, and he succumbed to his greed and need of power, and went on to become a king... only to be later killed and the ring fell into a lake.

Same thing was happening to Borormir (then he got a nasty case of dead), and other cases prove all the Ring needs to do is corrupt one

Because it needs to be done, if we don't destroy it, then everything will get fucked, hard. Not saying it is impossible to resist temptation, but I think they made it clear the ring's rather addictive qualities, and how it could break otherwise sane and noble men

But if the Fellowship was inherently set up to be corrupted, then why bother? If we are resigned to corruption, the Eagles would have been quicker.

Well Obviously they weren't set up to fail, that is just an effect of the ring, it infects you, and temps your will to allow you to do evil or wrong, like Devils or Demons (considering your the guy controlling perhaps the most religious character in the entire RP, with essentially the holiest power, you should be at least familiar with this concept of temptation)

Speaking of, I found something I feel you'd like: It's like it was tailor made for your interests

The only people who were really in any danger worth mentioning of being corrupted were Aragorn, and Boromir, Elves are virtually (virtually, not literally) immune to the ring's taint, Dwarves are very resistant, and Hobbits are...well... Hobbits. Most Hobbits have a fair sized resistance to the ring's taint, Smeagol was an exception (can't be bothered to go dig up why right now), regardless, even thought he did succumb to the ring's psychological taint, 200 hundred years and he was in pretty good shape physically for all that he had developed DPD.

Also, fun fact on Gandalf. He, like Sauron, were servants of the old gods.

EDIT: Oh, and the Birds refused to involve themselves in the conflict. The would not choose sides, even for Gandalf.
