WA Ambassadors

Postby The American States51 » Mon Aug 10, 2009 5:56 am

I am a new player and i need to know the duties of a WA ambassador, as well as the value of the various resolutions that are debated amongst the delegates. A list of Ambassadors could also come in handy.
Thank you for your time.

Hello The American States51, I am Sarah Harper, an ambassador to the World Assembly.

WA membership is optional but members need to abide by the rules. The basic duties of the WA member would be to decide on resolutions that are currently voted on, and as a WA regional delegate, approve resolutions that have the potential to improve the world. I am a delegate for a region called Funen, and I decide often which proposal would be good for the whole of the WA to vote on.

WA members have supporters in which we call endorsements. You can endorse another WA nation but not yourself. A nation with two endorsements can propose a new resolution or repeal an existing one. To be a regional delegate you need to have the most endorsements in a region. Some WA Delegates can access regional controls (where you create a world fact book entry or eject/ban nations) depending on the preferences of the regional founder. When you propose a new resolution, you need to earn approvals from (currently about 50) delegates. The delegates, like me, decide which one should be able to voted upon.

In the forums we come up with new ideas for resolutions and this forum is very handy for feedback on how to improve the quality of the text and the effectiveness of the resolution. New resolutions need to comply with the rules for proposals. Most of our resolutions are debated in character, that is, we appoint an ambassador to represent us and discuss from their point of view. This is why phrases such as "honoured ambassador" are common.

You can find further information about the World Assembly at this thread, which used to be our official forum and guess what: we may need one for this forum too.

Now, here is a list of a selection of the well known ambassadors alongside me who use the forum often: Glen-Rhodes, Quintessence of Dust, Bears Armed, Sionis Prioratus and Goobergunchia. Other notable players who help with the WA although not members currently are Omigodtheykilledkenny and Unibot.

I hope this information is of help to you.

In response to your query (re: ambassadors), these links should be helpful:

My esteemed collegue from Charlotte Ryberg, failed to mention some of the other benefits of WA ambassadorship. First is getting yourself an office. The best was is to offer a nice bribe...err...gift to the Wa Building Management. This will speed up the process considerably(actually since its RP, it might not), or tyou can join up with those that attempt to bagsy any office frred up by those who resign from the WA in a snit.

Wednsdays are a special day in the Festering Snakepit, as The rather buxum Thessadorian Ambassador usually wears tight t-shirts. The world famous Thesasadorian Two are something to behold, my friend.

One should also be quick on their feet, and be able to react quickly, as there have been times that pie fights, and other activiites have broken out in debates, so you ashould always be prepared. I'll give you some free advise....if you don't like being defenestrated, then don't get on the Bad Side of Iron Felix. He's a good fellow(even though he's an ex-commie scum), but he likes to throw people out of windows, God love him. I should also warn you that I've hired very foul mouthed and profane dolphins to work for me, so on occasion you might not want any young children , or pregant females to be visiting your delegation when the dolphins are here.

Also, one can suppliment a palty salary here in the Festering Snakepit, by offering to sell your vote for cash. I'm able to fund any number of unsavory, unhealthy, and unwholesome hobbies this way.

Finally there is the WA Stranger's Bar, one of the finest drinking establishments known to man. Many of the ambassadors here spend an awful lot of time there, hobnailing their livers.
