This topic is about the armed forces of Nation States. You just list what branches your military has and explain their role. By Branches, I mean, Army, Navy, etc. Please keep it short and sweet.

The CAS has five branches of the military under Supreme Arc Command, the Legion, the Navy, the Guards, and the supporting internal Militia and Auxillary. The Legion is the primary planetary combat branch with supporting Aeronautical units within to provide planet defense, the Navy is the primary space combat branch with the Marines acting as their ground support, and the Guards are Genderames and police the populace in certain areas but mostly in certain strategic areas or in space as a Coast Guard. The Militia are all volunteer,subdivisonal, and reseerve troops. The Auxillary are foreigners, mercs, and prisoners in our service. These two operate as the services they are attached to.

All citizens must serve in either number 1,3 or 4 when they turn 17 years old, for a minimum period of 18 months. This is extended to 24 if one is not selected for higher education.
The coastguard is selected from the navy.
The Peoples Defense is selected from all services for general training.
The SAS are the highest tier, selected from all services
The Sharund is selected from the ground forces, although specialists can come from any service.

The Rokartian States military is composed of seven branches: the Rokartian States Army (RSA), Rokartian States Navy (RSN), Rokartian States Air Force (RSAF), Rokartian States National Guard (RSNG), Rokartian States Marine Corps (RSMC), Rokartian States Space Force (RSSF), and Rokartian States Special Operations Division (SPECOPDIV). The RSA carries out many land missions. The RSN handles all sea operations. The RSAF operates during air missions. The RSNG acts as Rokartia's primary defense force. The RSMC serves as our nation's amphibious forces. The RSSF is composed primarily of technicians and high-ranking military officers, and handles military operations in space, such as satellite espionage and kinetic bombardment stations. Finally, the SPECOPDIV carries out primarily high-risk, low profile missions.

Gutian Army, simply put they are the nations land forces, tasked with defending or invading depending on what is happening.

Gutian Maritime Forces is divided into two parts, the Gutian Fleet which is the ships and the Gutian Amphibious Corps/Marine Corps, the naval infantry.

Gutian Air Force is the ones who patrol the Gutian airspace, with both planes and helicopters.

Gutian Homeguard, like the army but they can not be deployed outside of the Gutian borders, often helps in cases of emergency/hurricanes etc.

The Navy is better funded and controls the bulk of the military, including the marines and air force. The army is much smaller and under funded. In times of war, large numbers of conscripts are called up via a lottery system.

All able bodied, unskilled immigrants must fight for Wargtopia. A lucky few are chosen to join the navy, but for the rest, the Wargtopian Foreign Legion is their fate. Viewed as totally expendable, they are sent into the worst situations with minimal training or backup. After two years, the survivors can become full citizens.

The Samozniy Military has several branches spanning land, sea, air and even space.
Samozniy Army - infantry and armour. Simple, key and effective.
Samozniy Airborne - airborne infantry. Linking land and sky, making extensive use of cargo planes for parachute drops and helicopter insertions.
Samozniy Air Force - ruling the skies of our nation and our battlefields. They field dedicated air-to-air fighters and interceptors, along with strategic and tactical bomber aircraft.
Samozniy Army Air Corps - a second link of land and sky. The SAAC fills a myriad of roles aside from the specialist Air Force. AAC aircraft provide close air support and transport to infantry and airborne units.
Samozniy Navy - the smallest of our branches, the Navy fields all classes of ship from humble cargo ship to the mighty twelve-gun battleships and heavy aircraft carriers.
Samozniy Marine Corps - the Marines are to the Navy what the Airborne are to the Army. Seaborne troops that land at beaches, and board enemy shipping.
Samozniy Space Corps - so large and powerful, that they are politically distinct from Samozaryadnyastan proper. Aside from being a military branch of space, their populace colonise other worlds. Thus far, only Mars and the Earth's Moon have been colonised, but extra-solar missions are planned.
The Space Navy consists of predominantly unarmed vessels, but the Space Marines are 'regular' infantry. They are not yet trained for zero-G or zero-atmosphere engagement, and are effectively just Military Police on colonies, ships and stations.

Those are just the mainline branches. In addition to those are the Spetsnaz special forces, the Matryoshka intelligence agency (interlinked with Spetspaz) and the top-secret SPARTAN project.

As an almost landless nation with 80% of our population living below the oceans surface (other 20% live on atolls, oil rigs, floating artifical island, and abroad) we only have a navy. No army or airforce. We do have subdivisions of our Navy. 37 Submarine fleets, 14 Carrier based fleets, 14 Shore Patrol (Think Navy Seals/Coast Guard combined) fleets, and 5 surface combat fleets (battleship centrered fleets)

Our intelegence staff is incorperated into the State Department not the department of the Navy
