New Islands discovered in The Southern Seas

Saxoprußian Sailors have discovered 6 particularly large Islands in the South Alsatian seas. Placing several claims upon the land in order to make penal and tourist colonies.

Out of a sign of good will to the Nations of the world, Saxoprußian officials have halted the colonial expansion and allowed other nations to take colonies.
OOC: Yes, a map game. Two rules: (1) Don't be overtly greedy, ie don't claim more than 45% of a given landmass. (2) Political happenings IC will occur as well. Los!

[Valadia Prime]

IS Venture of Thele, South Alsatian Seas

The Eternal Empire of Valadia had been seeking to expand for some time. Its desire to expand, however, had made many of its neighbors in its home region of Lavinium nervous. It was decided, therefore, to dispatch colony ships to other, distant locations in the hopes of finding suitable space for new colonies that would not rile up Valadia's immediate neighbors.

As the blocky, utilitarian colony ship sailed through the waters of the South Alsatian Seas, a suitable landmass was spotted. Without undue delay, the Venture of Thele made landfall, its escorting destroyer taking up station nearby.

To all whom it may concern:

The Eternal Empire of Valadia, on behalf of his Imperial Majesty Andellaias, hereby claims the area demarcated on the attached map as the Imperial Crown Dominion of New Thele. This colony shall fall under the domains of his Excellency, Lord Maian of Thele, Minister of Trade, to be managed on behalf of the Emperor.

Any inquiries should be directed to the office of the Imperial Viceroy of New Thele, Lord Cardan, at the colony, or to the Bureau of Colonial Administration directly in the Imperial capital of Vyviau.

Ren Dirh entered his fifth term as Lord Chancellor with a promise to bring a new age of prosperity to Snefaldia and extend the light of Snefaldian culture to the rest of the world. In a speech before Parliament, he promised that "Already the light of Snefaldia touches the paradise islands of Malibu, and I promise that the children of tomorrow will look at their maps and see a world dotted with the colonies of our Federation."

Naturally those supportive of Empire (the majority) rose to applause, and there was little those opponents could do. In fact they had lost much of their clout, with the proscription of the Communist Party and the growing strength of the rightist Republic Party, which had absorbed the old Imperialists. Not that they could vote on it- the Chancellor was the commander of the armed forces, and the Minister of War was a former Imperial, and so after a careful investigation of maps, geological surveys, and the assembling of colonists, A flotilla departed with the colonists (mostly Neeri, of Beladanya and Sendaren stock)


The notice of the selection of the land, with its attendant measurements, mineral and water rights, and coastal fishing demands was sent for public release. The Snefaldian colony of Naharin, named for the fabled land of honey
n Sringi legend, was thus established.

The Merchant Prince League thought it best to expand, in order to gain not only new territory but to also open up relations with other nations. With an opportunity to do both up, Merchant Prince Cosmo Pendergrass set forward the funds to start work on a working colony, seeking sugar cane and coca for Princess Kopa-Cola: Throwback (Out now at a store near you, go to PrincessCola.mpk for information on how to get a “free” sample.)

Said plantations would open up jobs, not only to colonist of Kopawapatepolis, but those of other colonies looking for work. The Great Pink and White does not discriminate when it comes to cheap labor.

Of course this meant that about half a dozen ships bearing the flags of Kopawapatepolis landed on the eastern most island’s west coast. As a show of good faith, they not only carried one of the country’s Merchant Princes, but they were not accompanied by any PMC vessels. Although, there was still nothing much to the fleet. Perhaps a minimal working population and enough supplies to open up a few plantations.

[The Virginian Republic]

The Empire of the Virginian Republic would like to claim the Northern Portion of the island with the Saxoprussian claims. Our Southern border will be Saxoprussian, and our western border will be the river. As a show of good faith we are willing to demilitarize our border with Saxoprussia provided they are willing to do the same.

The Aaronian Empire would like to claim the southernmost claim of islands as an Imperial Colonial Zone.
The Zone shall be known as the Junar Iérior (Literally; Islands of Opulance).

The Grand Duchy of Lauralestria will claim the ENTIRE north east island/continent. I shall be proclaimed as Heaislak Territory .
