First, UK is like "Fuck it. We`re brexiting the EU!". And now, a orange idiot has become the 45th US president. This will be some fun years...

I'm not too sure what the protocol is on this, but we tend to avoid politics on this thread, so if you could, please leave political commentary out of this thread. This is an RP for a music contest, and we'd like to ensure that hostility doesn't begin to appear because of politics (although feel free to talk about it outside this thread).

(Anyone else in the Committee feel free to correct me on this)

Who will get 270 points?, Kalosian-Americans wonder. Except we found out the answer before I manage to post this.

Unlike previous editions, I'm actually pretty prepared. I have my lyrics ready which means I just need to think of a performance... I might be posting early in the running order if I get lucky.

Thanks to this election, I can channel some extra emotion into my entry! *miniscule silver lining*

All I am saying is that not all of the greats hosted within their first five editions. It takes time, and expecting to host as a baby (3 editions) is seriously risky, and a voter would take this in to consideration. Or at least I do.

Don't be worried. I'd posted that half unsure about whether I was going to bid or not, and I've decided I'm not in a position where I could host, yet alone bid to host, the contest, and probably won't be for some time.

Sorry for breaking the pattern

WV52 Bid - Langtree, Mercedini

Postby Mercedini » Fri Nov 11, 2016 9:05 am

Image

This is the official bid for WorldVision 52 by the Mercedinian city of Langtree. Here we will outline the provisional plans which will be implemented by the city should they be chosen as the host of WorldVision 52. We hope you enjoy, all questions are welcome and will be answered, and we hope you choose Langtree as your host for WorldVision 52!

Image

Host of the last three editions of SongSearch: Mercedini's Choice. Mercedini's second largest city behind the capital Zoloroni, it has recently seen large amounts of investment and renovation which has seen the erection of many skyscrapers but also the host venue selected by the Mercedinian delegation; the Ignavi Auditorium in Langtree. In Mercedini's second city, you can expect to see many welcoming locals during the contest as the city has been gripped by WorldVision fever ever since SongSearch began to air in the city. Visitors to the country can expect to see local Mercedinian cuisine but there will also be international fayre available as Mercedini attempts to welcome the world to their country. During the contest, there will also be a large fan-zone close to the stadium to accommodate fans and locals who failed to acquire tickets for the event. Big screens along with former WorldVision paritipants will take to the stage in Langtree's largest park to celebrate a night of music and unity

Image

Image

If Mercedini is selected to be the host of the 52nd WorldVision Song Contest, the event will take place inside the Ignavi Auditorium, which has a capacity of 16,000 people! Aside from the large auditorium, the arena also consists of a large snacks room where spectators can help themselves to a feast of Mercedinian and international snacks. More importantly, the green room will be located behind the stage with quick and easy acces fromm the green room to the stage and beyond. Pariticants will be supplied with their own mini-fridge and flag holders to accommodate as much of the nation's national identity as possible

Image

The stage consists of a large circular LED platform extending from the rear of the stage to the audience. There will also be large LED screens surrounding the entire rear portion of the stage to ensure the performances can be as customisable as possible.
The main centrepiece of the stage will involve what is known as 'The Spiral' which is a large ceramic spiral which can rotate and change colour at the whim of the delegations. Sparks, Fire, Strobing and Wind will all be available at the request of the delegations. If you want it, we can supply it!!

Image

If chosen, postcards will consist of the on-screen graphic of the presentation of the song before it begins. The design is a customised version of the main design but in the colours of the national flag of participants.
Image

Postcards can be entirely customisable and can be made very quickly on my part. I personally don't have to wait for nations to reply with certain customisable designs and can be made as soon as the song is posted!
Image

So, I hope you enjoyed reading about Mercedini's bid for WorldVision 52. As I said before, don't hesitate to ask questions about the bid as user participation is what I am aiming for in this bid. An opening act, singers presentation and interval act will be supplied if this bid is successful.
Thank You for reading and don't for get to vote for Langtree's bid for WorldVision 52!

@Mercedini, how can you be an active host? During the 40s period, we didn't have a lot of hosts who updated all the postcards and was there. Apart from any personal issues happening, are you certain that WorldVision would be a priority? Same question goes for Gurori.

Edit: This question is not aimed specifically at you, I'd just like to understand the bidders more.
