President Del'falco officially addressed the current situation in Orsandia and Gael, Aruian volunteers continue to help Orsandias refugee find new homes across The Western Isles.

Earlier this afternoon President Valerio Del'falco gathered a press conference regarding the uncovering of Samuderas involvement in the civil war, and the confirmation that Thuzbekistan has been actively backing the plf "We have stated for a long time that Thuzbekistans rhetoric and remarks regarding the plf and heavy attention to what is happening in Orsandia was suspicious. Our backlash and decision to put sanctions on Thuzbekistan involved businesses was a preemptive measurement in the case that Thuzbekistan may be involved in Orsandia to not let economical merits divert to those efforts against Orsandia." Stated President Del'falco, when asked about Samudera Del'falco stated
"It is hurting to hear that an ally from the north of us, a neighbor nation of our has been active against Orsandias sovereignty and we will make sure to prevent any further involvement by Samudera or Samuderian presence between Aruia and Orsandias area be halted. As I address you my friends, I have instructed the AP-DU to monitor an prevent any Samuderan ships from reaching the Aruian maritime border, Aruias sovereignty has been possibly breeched and we would not let this continue."
Before the press conference ended Del'falco was asked regarding Weinams statement and backing of Thuzbekistan and Samudera "There is no surprise that the largest communist nation with a power-hungry regime like the weinamese regime would sympethize with Thuzbekistan and Samuderas involvement. I am calling the Weinam regime to think carefully before expressing such volatile remarks to an already raging fire."
Aruias involvement in the civil war in Orsandia have been a actively through humanitarian aid from the national body AIRA, AIRA actively continues to bring refugees through the border in order to find them alternative housing across The Western Isle. So far AIRA reports of atleast 5000 having received new placement in other nations.

Knights Take the Cross For San Jiminez

Following the disturbing violences committed and vile trespasses of Justice committed by the soulless secularists of San Jiminez, and the Cardinal’s just rebuke thereof, a large company of Ilsan knights has taken the cross, departing from Port de Belle Île after being blessed by the Bishop there, who sanctioned their departure. Though only about a hundred strong, the knights were reported to be well equipped and provisioned, and have evidently succeeded in making landfall recently. All had taken vows both of anonymity and humility ere the righteous expedition, though rumours suggest that the Duke of Surrey, with a guilty conscience from the Lortik War, as well as many other wars, has taken the cross for ‘a final campaign, to redeem [his] sins and life of slaying’ to quote a letter left by one of the knights. A number of prominent dissidents and liberals have observed that the further reduction of knights will not solve current problems with crime, though ironically it is such liberal minded people who have implicitly encouraged such criminal activity.

King Condemns Kho Panha

After its inflammatory actions expelling the Ilsan residents therein with almost no notice and great brutality, King George II ordered retaliation, and the cargo of a Panharat merchant carrying a vast quantity of tea has been seized. The ship will likely be returned, and the crew have all been granted Ilsan citizenship, and are with several Ilsan diplomatic officers to ensure the safety of their citizenship documents.

As such, the King is to be hosting a tea party at the Ilsan royal palace on Monday with local government officials, as well as representatives of foreign governments and their staffs. The King also issued a royal proclamation condemning Kho Panha as a ‘Psychotic Dictatorship’ and has warned that further aggressions may draw economic sanctions. Popular opinion is with the King condemnation.

AHNSLEN-ROENDAVARIAN SUMMIT ENDS

Image
Palace of the Summers, the new Ahnslen embassy

July 14, 2018
Dociara City, Roendavar

After 3 days of meetings and celebrations, Prime Minister Andrew Kenzai and the Ahnslen delegation has departed from Vladimir-Dociara International Airport this afternoon, leaving behind numerous agreements and treaties.

On July 12, the Prime Minister of Ainslie was welcomed in the airport by the four presidents of the Kingdom. The delegation was escorted to the Palace of the Summers where the new Ahnslen embassy was relocated and the offical guesthouse for all future Ahnslen delegations in the country. The next day, the Ahnslen Prime Minister was given a royal welcome at the Palace of the Royals by King Vladimir IV and an estimated 770,000 crowd in the Royal Avenue, Trafaia Square, and other places in Dociara City.. The leaders met in the Scarlet Hall and numerous agreements were set. Today, the Prime Minister was given a tour of the city and was treated to a show by the Roendavar Grand Orchestra before heading to the airport.

Both parties recognized the importance of cooperation between the two countries and have realized the importance of regional economic trade and security. One of the main focuses of the meetings were improved bilateral trade for the two nations with lower tariffs and improved business collaboration. The main benefactor of these agreements is the huge pharmaceutical market in both Roendavar and Ainslie, with plans of expanding business in the other country. Tourism will also receive a major boost in the following years as more tourists are exchanged between the two with the help of a 60 day visa free period.

Security was also a huge topic for the two leaders as increased conflicts in Vastaros State threatens regional stability. An extradition treaty was established in order to further stamp out crime. Roendavar has also agreed to, for the first time in a century, pledge to participating in foreign peacekeeping missions. It is unclear what the government means by peacekeeping, however, the public was assured that no war will set foot in Roendavar mainland.

For Roendavarians, this a huge step in the development of foreign relations for Roendavar as it gains a new ally. July 12 has been proclaimed as the Ainslie-Roendavar Friendship day, exactly 107 years when the Roendarvarian monarchs fled to Ainslie after the Velvet Cry, an event which has improved Roendavarians' perception of the country.

In the topic of state visits, the countries of Xrevaro, Orsandia, Samudera, and Townside have expressed willingness to establish ties with Roendavar. The government has yet to announce when these will take place.

ROENDAVAR FILM FEST 2018 STARTS

July 14, 2018
Brojcia City, Inuia Municipality, Sudever State, Roendavar

The prestigious Roendavar Film Festival has officially opened in the city of Brojcia, the vacation and party capital of the country, with numerous celebrities and artists arriving at the red carpet opening in Soara Hotel.

Competition is expected to be tight this year as an influx of interest in the film industry and increase in budget has enabled several directors to produce quality movies. One of these is "The Man of Smoke", a film based on the Vastarosi Civil Rights Activist Irkov Zaragastru and his experiences when he was arrested and forced to watch the execution of his family back in 1998. Another talked about movie is "Sin", which highlights the ongoing protests in Tillianan State against the Church of Tillianan and follows of a young teenager who seeks to change his family's perceptions.

Although much of the movies were deemed controversial, the movies are guaranteed by the "Film Freedom Act" which bans the censorship of any form of media in the country. The states cannot refuse to show certain films as theaters are privatized in order to minimize the chances of state interference.

Riot police has been deployed all around Brojcia city to intervene and break up protests, which are high anticipated considering the festival's showcases. Despite this, the competition shall still continue on and the winning movie shall be announced on July 20.

For more info, refer to the festival's official website.

Our weather forecasters and meteorologists from the University of Alus have predicted that the storm will reach its peak while on the edge of the Eastern Coast, dissipating before it reaches Teronita. Residents have been told to beware of storm surges and falling trees. President Bida Natsunn urged them to evacuate when ordered to do so.

Data Protection Laws

A new bill on data protection has passed the Senat yesterday after an intense 4 hour debate. Senators discussed various implications and tabled a total of 21 amendments to the bill. Only 9 were passed. Eventually, a division was held and the bill passed 35-25, 1 Senator being ill. The bill received presidential approval today and became law, but will only come into force on 5 December 2020, 875 days from now.

Martha Jorgensen resigns following snap-election blunder

Prime Minister Jorgensen called for a snap election three weeks ago, hoping to expand her party's majority, and ditch the alliance that the Centre Left Party had with the Centralists. However, the plan has backfired in a puff of political smoke. The Centre Left Party has lost their 14 seat majority, at 140 seats, and have fallen to 120 seats. This morning's news that the Centre Left party had lost it's majority was treated as election victory by the Socialist Party leader Theodor Rosenqvist. A large crowd had gathered at the Socialist Party headquarters, as Sunday morning news was being broadcast inside the headquarters. Cheers and celebration then erupted after news was broken that the Prime Minister has resigned from her post. The Prime Minister's resignation letter detailed how she failed to create a coalition with any other party. The resignation means that the second largest party, the Socialists, now have the opportunity to create a coalition, but this will be a major challenge. The Socialists only have 80 seats, 46 seats short of the 126 seat majority. The Socialists' only option is a Rainbow Coalition, where they need to join together with two right wing parties and one centralist party. If no coalition that creates a majority is reached by Wednesday, then the King must call for a second election. The Socialists are in a horrible position. A rainbow coalition is an impossible feat.

Election results:
Centre Left (Peach) - 120
Socialist (Red) - 80
Conservative (Blue) - 20
Centralist (Yellow) - 12
Right Libertarian (Brown) - 8

Centre-Left choose Sven Berg as new leader
The Centre-Left party have elected Sven Borg to be the new party leader, following the resignation of Martha Jorgensen this morning. The news comes following much uncertainty over the future of the party leader ship.

"Mr Berg will lead this party in the right direction. He has the experience and know-how to do great things" said Party Chairman Peyter Hattattsen.

There have also been rumors of a potential Super-Alliance between the Centre-Left and the Socialist party, which would form a commanding 200 seat powerhouse in the Parliament.
Updates will follow with news as soon as it breaks.

EALDWIC DAILY NEWS

We have a number of reports from the Imperial Government concerning the rapid breakdown of peace in the north.
First, our northern neighbor, Oturia, and the central Argus nation of Weinam have broken out in a war of words with accusations and threats being issued by both. The problem is that Oturia has included Wellsia in this potential conflict.
Lord Hamish Dewar, Archprocurator of the Empire, has sent a formal telegram to his opposite number Lin Lam, the Weinam Sectreatary of State requesting a meeting to prevent futher misunderstanding between our two nations. Lord Hamish has reported that he wants to let the Weinamese government know that Wellsia is not trying to anger or provoke Weinam, and that the redeployment of Imperial Naval units farther north then usual and upcoming war games with Oturia are nothing more then training exercises. Wellsia has never had bad relationships with Weinam and has greatest respect for the people and government of Weinam.
Of greater concern to all is the possibility of the the Orsandian Civil War spreading to engulf all of Gael. With the Allies of Domill & Stiura, Ostehaar, and Orsindia accusing the nations of Thuzbekistan and Samudera of supporting the Communist rebels in Orsandia could change the very nature of the conflict. The fear of a full scale conflict breaking out in the Gael Region is of great concern to Wellsia as it would disrupt trade routes int he region . Because of this the Imperial Navy's Operations Command has formed a Force of Observation which will be made up of units from Home Fleet and Bay Fleet to patrol the seas south of Gael to watch for any danger to the civilian shipping of Wellsia.
Lastly is the conflict that is breaking out between the sovereign nation of Vancouvia and the criminals who have illegally seized one of her out lying islands. The Government of Wellsia offers full support to Vancouvia in the dealing with these criminals and refuses to support the rebels in their effort to enslave the poor people of the occupied island.
A late report from the Mesder, a Wellsian cruise ship was stopped and boarded by a group claiming to be piratres operating out of the island group known as the Spurs. To eliminate this threat in the vital strait , the Western Fleet has deployed a battle group to erase the pirate threat and to ensure that it is pirates and not the move of a foreign nation to gain control of the Spurs.
This is the news and we ask that a blessings are given to watch over our leaders and military in their duties.

BREAKING NEWS

A sad day it is indeed. We have received reports that Emperor Halif Grenrer, a man who is strong, handsome, a husband to a beautiful empress and a patriarch of our glorious nation, has been hospitalized after a recent attack from the terrorist group known as the "Prideful Lions of Democracy" on the emperor's estate. He went out to personally address the group, demanding that they stop their actions or be rightfully shot. Instead, a rock was thrown at the emperor, in which he abruptly collapsed when hit. The members who were calling for the fall of our nation and for a turn to corruption have been shot, again, rightfully so.

The terrorist group has been making advances and have started to control territory on Khalifonia, however, this should not worry anyone, as allies of Teronita, such as Fahraxi, and the Teroniti military have been called to stop the Prideful Lions of Democracy from destroying our absolutely beautiful nation.

The emperor's beautiful wife has temporarily appointed loyal friend, Jaha Permina, as the Minister of the News in order to be with her husband. Halif's current state is unknown, however, he is strong and due to his rich blood line of brave men, he will most likely survive this tragedy, like the heroic emperors of the past.

If worst comes to worst, which is unlikely, the current herald to the emperor shall be his young, and strong, yet smart, 20 year old son, Premonti IV.

APPROVED BY THE MINISTER OF NEWS, JAHA PERMINA

Socialists and Centre-Left one step closer to coalition, say reports

Sven Berg and his Centre-Left party are reportedly one step closer to a forming a super-majority coalition government with the Socialist party, following the dramatic resignation of Martha Jorgensen.

After failing to deliver on her promise to expand her party's majority and to make law without the Centralist party's support, she decided to throw in the towel and resign on Sunday morning.

The Socialist Party headquarters erupted into celebration and cheers following the news.

The former Prime Minister's resignation letter detailed her "incredible effort to raise the party to great success" but "did not foresee such a scenario like this".

If the two parties reach an agreement, Sven Berg will become the new Prime Minister, and Theodore Rosenqvist will serve as Deputy Prime Minister.

But an agreement has to be reached fast, as only two days remain until a second election is called for by the king.

Police have thwarted 18 attempted terrorist attacks since Sliced Saturday Shooting

Utrolig suffered through three shootings during June, the most devastating being the Utrolig Mall shooting which occurred during the rampage of a day where millions go bargain hunting. A crazed killer was apprehended, but he had already taken the lives of four, and had changed the lives of 41 forever.

Now, Kalmar Police have confirmed that they have worked around the clock, and time is against them.

"As a collective, national police departments have sent us monthly reports confirming our worst fears. Kalmar is not free from the threat of terrorism. As a collective, 18 attacks have been thwarted. As a collective, police have worked tirelessly to keep Kalmar lives safe. Sadly, our capital city, Utrolig, is the hotspot for planned attacks. We urge the public to be weary when out and about, and to report suspicious activity to your local police department."

As the police continue their incredible work, lawmakers are doing everything they can to make more firearms illegal.

"Military grade semi automatic, assault rifle caliber firearms should be banned. No doubt. These guns are taking Kalmar lives every second." one protester said.

"Our elected representatives are doing nothing. They sit and watch as we die!" another said.

Kalmar gun crime has been on the rise, reports say, as other crimes such as robberies and burglaries have been on the decline. It appears that shootings are now Kalmar's worst crime, statistically.

Sven Berg blasts state run National News of the Empire

Centre-Left party leader Sven Berg has again blasted Teronita's National News of the Empire, in an interview with The Kalmar Daily following his appointment as the leader of the Centre-Left party. He says that the state controlled National News of the Empire "praises and congratulates a cold, calculating, oppressing dictator".

"Regarding the Teronitan Royal Family, there is no such thing as their rich bloodline of brave men, only a bloodline of senseless depraved animals whose conscience has been perverted by the lust for power and dominance. Teronita is a failing country and it's leaders are in a state of denial. Teronita is a country, if it can be called that, where the leaders manipulate the populace to their will to suit their needs and goals. Teronita is a country where the leaders dump the blame on the citizenry and use them as their scapegoats. It's only a matter of time before the nation either collapses, the citizens rise up or a civil war starts. There are no other options then those three, and that is the cold, hard truth. The cold hard truth I say."

Jeann Venakin Locks Down International Business

JV fans across the Isles were happy to hear about the recent expansion undertaken by their corporation. Last summer CEO Ciandra Burke told The Funcan Post that JV was actively looking for international stores, and it seems they delivered. JV's marketing team recently released a tweet disclosing that new bags were being first released in two new locations; one in Ostehaar, Porohare and the other in Dormill and Stiura, Chery. They later confirmed there would be a total of eight branches located in Ostehaar, a total of ten in Dormill and Stiura, and a total of three in Vancouvia. JV CEO Ciandra Burke also told The Funcan Post how they will be outsourcing the manufacturing jobs of Jeann Venakin products to Menna Shuli. The country of Menna Shuli is notoriously known for their cheap labor, so as much as a economically score it is to Jeann Venikan, it's also a moral blow to them as well. Human rights activists expressed their anger at JV, saying they won't be paying those factory workers fair wages. Jeann Venikan did not issue a statement back.

Internet Protection Law 6-1

It was recently announced that the Federal Council voted 6-to-1 in favor of the Internet Protection Law (IPL). In a joint statement the Federal Council expressed it was crucial to the internet consumers of Funce that "Internet service providers need to treat all data on the Internet equally, and not discriminate or charge differently by user, content, website, platform, application, type of attached equipment, or method of communication. The IPL bill will also protect consumers data such as their IP, making it private information, and making websites disclose what type of data they are acquiring from the user and if the user wishes that this data would be removed". Net Neutrality and privacy activists consider this law a huge win, stating that large companies cannot keep private information of them any longer. However, some corporations expressed dismay as they believe this will cut revenue for Funce as a whole.

WEINAMESE TROOPS MOVE TO SECURE SOUTHERN BORDER

Image
Weinamese Troops begin moving to the southern borders

The Weinamese army has deployed soldiers to it's southern border as the country strengthens it's national defenses. Key border checkpoints and passes will be manned by troops, alongside regular Border Police with immediate effect, the army will also be conducting mobile and aerial patrols along the border. Secretary of State, Lin Lam announced the plans as part of a shake up in national security amid concerns of rising conflict and terrorism. The plans were outlined several weeks ago, along with details of increased military funding and a program of public shelters to be built in key areas for use during times of emergency.

Secretary Lam has acknowledged the message from his counterpart in Wellsia, stating that;

"The Nation of Wellsia has nothing to fear from Weinam. You are considered friends to the people of Weinam and our recent activity is structured to ensure that our nation and our region remains secure from harm. The troop movement to our borders is to ensure that our nation remains as strong as possible, while insuring that those who enter and exit our country are as safe as we can possibly make it."

Secretary Lam also issued a message to Oturia yesterday evening, advising the country to seek maturity and conduct it's business with the interest of the region in mind, and that mass protesting against any concerns or objection was a pointless and meaningless exercise.

MUTUAL DEALS TO BE STRUCK WITH TOROM

Weinam announced today that it is to strike deals with it's neighbor, Torom as the two countries aim to build close ties. Torom shares a border with Weinam and the two countries have remained neutral to each other for several decades, until now.
President Lin Zheng is working hard to build closer ties with Argus neighbors and Torom was just the first on a list of such nations. Torom has been offered an invitation of a state visit to Weinam along with business ties that will see Torom build the regions largest shopping mall within Weinam.

President Zheng expressed her delight at the proposal, suggesting that both nations have mutual interest within the region and the means to build strong ties together. It is unclear when Torom is likely to visit, but there is a welcoming invitation and plenty of deals on the table for both nations.

|Rebels Seize Federal Armories|
As Guadalupana Rebels engage in the declared Holy War, a demand for arms was seen and soon attacks on arsenals were being carried out throughout the country. Federal drafts for men to join the Republican Army appear to be too late as many arsenals have already been raided. It is expected that at least $1.3 million worth of firearms have been lost to the rebellion. Most Republican soldiers have secured Northern arsenals but the majority of those in the South have been emptied. The Chamber of Congress has declared the rebels "pirates" who have stolen Government property, which is not a false accusation and has ordered the invasion of territory that is reported to harbor such rebels. During the raids, it is expected that about 67 Guadalupanas have been killed and only 22 Republicans, primarily due to their previous lack of arms.

Map of Guadalupana activity.

|Republicans & Rebels Encamp Near Del Agua City|
As Republican soldiers poured into Del Agua City, surrounding the Cathedral of Saint Jimenez, home of the Jimenean Cardinal, federal authorities issued the requisition of private homes to Republican soldiers and have also stationed camps on the outskirts of the city for deployed Republicans. Early in the morning, about 12 miles away, Guadalupana Rebels also established encampments. An estimated 4,000 rebels are grouped at the encampment, compared to 10,000 Republicans in Del Agua City and 30,000 more in Gran Teran. Cardinal Pius III has ordered all seminarians, nuns, priests, and other clergy of Del Agua City to reside in the lower levels of the Jimenean Cathedral and convents on the property. He has also prevented anyone from entry into the Cathedral. Churches have been left empty and seized by the national government for either military hospitals or housing. Former Secretary of War and colonel in the war against the SLSJ, Lupe Howard, was appointed military commander of all Republican forces and has ordered military drafts in the country. It is now nearly impossible for Jimenean men to refuse to take a side in the conflict now, either join the draft or disobey and serve the rebellion. General Howard has also requested the organization of Republican Volunteers, both from San Jimenez and from abroad. Cardinal Pius III has warned Catholics that joining the Republicans would be considered a "grave sin", however, it is expected that Catholics make up about 32% of the Republican Army. It is unclear how citizens will align but it is clear that "total warfare" is looming as each day passes.

Thank you for choosing the Gran Teran Gazette, we will update you as always as more information is given, goodsnight.

Oturia's military Test run

Today President Jane Weston has expressed her support of the monarchy of Belle Ilse en Terre and has stated that Oturia will send them convoys of food, clothes, weapons, ammunition, and volunteers to fight the SHOCK terrorist organization.

These convoys will be protected by the western naval fleet.
Economists say that this will kick start the Oturian war economy, setting up a whole new branch of business for Oturia.

The Oturian government also started talking to Wellsia about cooperation in military training and cooperative scientific research, referring to Wellsia as Oturia's greatest and most valued ally.
This seems to be true considering that the overall opinion among citizens is 93% positive.

Fahraxi aids Teronita in the fight against 'Prideful Lions of Democracy'

In an public statement King Rasheed Al-Amyr has stated that as a fellow monarchy in the Western Isles, Teronita will be aided with ammunition, weaponry, petroleum and food rations in their fight against terrorist groups such as 'The Prideful Lions of Democracy'. King Rasheed wishes the 82 year old Emperor Halif Grenrer a fast recovery of his injuries as his grand nation needs him in these times of unrest.

16 journalists arrested in another purge

King Rasheed takes hard measures against those who spread fake news about our great divine kingdom. Last night the RBI (Royal Bureau of Investigation) has conduct another raid on 16 different houses and apartment complexes and had arrested 15 journalists. One journalist managed to escape from his apartment before the RBI raided it, however said journalist was quickly gunned down by a sniper. He remains in critical condition in hospital, no one, including his family, is allowed to enter his room at the time. "I want to commend our brave and heroic soldiers and agents who have put their lives on the line in the name of our kingdom." King Rasheed stated "These are one of the many unpatriotic journalists and activists scattered troughout Fahraxi who dare criticize our nation. If you know any of these rats, report them to authorities immediately so we can put an end to their lies and deceivings."

Storm Safety

A storm that was predicted to scrape along the Eastern coast of Samaj yesterday defied predictions and veered further out to the East. Many coastal residents had stockpiled food and were prepared for the worst. Nuclear reactors in Torumil were also prepared to shut down. Some local stores are offering to buyback water purification devices. The President has congratulated residents on their lucky escape, while weather forecasters have expressed confusion. The storm dissipated before it reached Linaviar.

President's Weekly Speech

President Bida Natsunn has delivered his weekly speech. In it, he talked about the Anti-Semtism issue, storms, foreign relations, San Jimenez and the Prideful Lions of Democracy in Teronita. He raised concerns about the rising number of Anti-Semitic attacks and concurred with the Chief Rabbi that more needed to be done. Natsunn offered support to the PLD in fighting for democracy, recalling Samaj's own revolution. He has called for the Republican Army in San Jimenez to cease fire and condemned them for disturbing their government.

Polar Svalbard

Polar Svalbard has sent an offer of foreign relations earlier today. Our leaders are expected to soon discuss military trade and set up an alliance. More information will come soon.

Anti-Semitism

David Goren, the Chief Rabbi of Samaj, has raised concerns about the rising number of Anti-Semtic attacks in the past years. According to police statistics, the number has doubled since 2015. Jews have lived in Samaj since settlement began and make up roughly 10% of the population. Goren called for increased awareness and reporting of attacks.

'UHITAP'S CONDITION STABLE, UNRESPONSIVE

SHUHAKALLU - Insiders close to the 'uhitap's medical situation have confirmed that Mênna Shuli's leader remains stable, but that his condition has not improved since his collapse last week. Exploratory surgery uncovered several problematic health concerns which may be causing further escalation of the 'uhitap's condition.

"The stroke was not a symptom of another condition as previously expected," said one of the 'uhitap's private doctors. "That being said, his stroke has caused us to notice several previously undiagnosed conditions that are compounding the problems with returning the 'uhitap to consciousness."

Several health experts believe that the 'uhitap's stroke may have been caused by complications caused by a lifetime of smoking, and that these unspecified "undiagnosed conditions" may also be related to the 'uhitap's heavy cigarette and cigar consumption. These experts are calling for a government anti-smoking campaign to combat the prevalence of smoking-related health complications in Mênna Shuli.

"At this time, one in every three Mênnan adults is believed to regularly consume tobacco products," said Kiavêvit Ashuki Kitak of the Citizen's Group for Public Health Information. "These rates are highest in the low castes, where as many as two-to-three-quarters of the adult population and even children are smoking. Second hand smoke is ubiquitous, and smoking-related health concerns is the most rapidly increasing health epidemic in Mênnan history. Mênna Shuli lacks any public health legislation on smoking; rules on smoking in public are non-existent, as are age restraints on purchases. Government officials and celebrities, such as the 'uhitap, glamorize smoking, and many make significant incomes off the back of tobacco growth, sales and import, especially from San Javier. Javieran companies are frequently in bed with criminal organizations that smuggle cocaine and other opioids into the country, fuelling our own organized crime concerns. We should take the 'uhitap's stroke as a sign and a warning and begin fighting the rising tide of tobacco-related deaths immediately."

Tobacco companies around the country, including Stork Cigarettes and Blue Mountain Tobacco LLC., have put out statements stating their support of the 'uhitap and their significant contributions to public health awareness campaigns and employment initiatives in Mênna Shuli.

Meanwhile, the Sâtêp is struggling with the unforeseen loss of the 'uhitap's presence. Without the 'uhitap to call legislation to vote, little can be done in the Sâtêp Chambers.

"What we need now is an emergency action," says Kivêlâ Hitap Mashat Hu'. "The 'uhitap should immediately be removed from office and a new election should begin. If he is unable to perform his duties, a new 'uhitap should be found who can."

Other senators are more moderate in their response. Kivêlâ Hitap Mipax Shutu announced her support for an emergency measure to elect a "deputy 'uhitap" to act as 'uhitap a tempore.

"Never has an 'uhitap been deposed in the manner some of my colleagues have suggested, and we should not begin setting that precedent now," Mipax has stated. "Our system was established by our forebears with specific reason and purpose. The 'uhitap is not just a rubber stamp, but a national symbol. Like his political inclinations or not, he should be accorded the respect his office deserves."

Polar Svalbard Goes To The Cup: One Of The Most Wild Rides In Sports History

After a run which left Svalbardian fans cheering, crying, and stunned; the Svalbardian team managed to qualify and make it into the IFAF Cup. The final match of the Qualifiers just happened yesterday in Thuzbekistan and as the Svalbardian team comes home to rest and recuperate in preperation for the upcoming cup, we have writen down the story that they made as they traveled across the Isles carrying the hopes of fans all over Polar Svalbard.

The story starts on June 24th as the Svalbardian team traveled to New Libang in Athara Magarat to play against the Weinamese team. The story already starts with problems as just 15 minutes into their first game, star player Jonathan Barstad suffered a hamstring injury and was taken out of the game. He was seen crying on the sidelines, and much of the nation cried along with him, although he quickly got himself together and began cheering for his teammates along with the fans while the Svalbardian trainers tended to his injury. Soon after that Weinam scored the only game of the match. This was surprising as the Svalbardian team focuses heavily on an offensive playstyle, but it seems that after losing the star forward the defense bucked up and did their part well. Later in the game another player was taken out by injury, Dominic Richards. These two injuries along with a string of yellow cards are what many consider to be the factors that caused the team to lose the game.

Moving forward to what was the most intense game of the Svalbardian Qualifiers, the Svalbardian team met the Norstham team in Domanania on June 28th. This game was already slated to be a challenge as the Norstham team were defending champions after winning the Cup last year. Furthermore the day before the game Christian Kerg suffered a minor injury, although it was one that would keep him out for the game. With three players recovering from injuries and the fact that this game was all or nothing, Svalbardian fans were all over the place. The question for the game was whether or not the substitutions would be able to fill in for the missing players well enough to keep the Svalbardian team competitive, and they did so.
Just 16 minutes into the game the Norstham team took the lead with a complete breakaway, already worried Svalbardian fans had to take a break to grab a drink at this point. Luckily though this was the game that made Ilyasov Timur a national star for the past few weeks. Within two minutes the substitute for star player Jonathan Barstad made two beautiful goals that put Polar Svalbard into the lead and sent Svalbardian fans around the nation roaring to life. These two minutes are likely to be a highlight of his career, and will likely send him high into the ranks of the Eliteserien or into popular and competitive clubs internationally.
Continuing forward the Norstham team responded to tie up the game. Soon after fans from both sides cheered for different reasons. The Norstham fans were cheering as a Svalbardian was taken off the field as they were worried that they'd lose. Svalbardian fans were cheering as Geir Grieg ruined a Norstham player so bad that he had to be booked. Sadly though the Svalbardian cheers would damper as the Norsan cheers took over when they scored another goal to take Norstham into the lead.
With Svalbardian fans on the edge of there seat as the end of the game loomed, substitution Kholodov Boleslaw brought them back to their feet barely a minute into entering the game when he made an amazing goal that tied the game. Sadly though the game would end in Norsan favor when goaltender Heinen made a grave mistake and cost Polar Svalbard the game. There was no bad blood though as both his team and the fans consoled him after such an amazing game.

At this point it seemed like chances for Polar Svalbard to be in the Cup were gone, although many fans were still happy with such an amazing game. Contract offers flew, especially for the substitutions who played an amazing game. While all players are expected to do their best, these substitutions went beyond what was expected after this season in the Eliteserien. Key Svalbardian players healed up and the nation was undergoing a media frenzy, but that frenzy would go insane once the next major news hit Polar Svalbard. Apparently there were necessary changes in how the qualifiers would be done in the Cup in order to make for a balanced competitive tournament. Thus a wildcard would be held for five slots. While unexpected its not surprising that the committee for the Cup would still be finalizing the Cup due to it only being in its second year.

Nonetheless this breathed life into the nation and parties were held all over. Svalbardian flags could be found all around the nation as many flooded the streets in excitement. In interviews with Svalbardian players they were seen crying and excited, especially the three who were injured who might have a chance to play.

The first game of the wildcard that Polar Svalbard would play took them back to Domanania, this time to face the Domananian team. While the game was played more conservatively, the Svalbardian team was still riding its own hype and the hype of its fans. Especially notable were how vigorously Christian Kerg played after coming back from the injury that didn't let him play in the Norsan game. With goals by Kukane Noma and Christian Kerg, the Svalbardian team was able to move forward in the wildcard to try for the fifth spot. This would take them against a strong Thuzbekistan team in Thuzbekistan. Playing through a crowd that was strongly against them in a fervor that transcended even into politics and ideology, the Svalbardian team played for itself, the fans, and the nation. They put on a strong show with Kerg once again scoring in a game that went to penalty kicks. With Polar Svalbard winning the penalty kicks, Polar Svalbard is going to the cup. The team ran to Kerg and started chanting 'Svalbard, Svalbard, Svalbard' in the middle of the field, as millions of Svalbardians across the nation did so with them. When they returned to Alta International they were greeted by thousands of fans who cheered them on.

Now, after all of this, it is time to try for the Cup. Go Polar Svalbard!

Sven Berg condemns free speech suppression in Fahraxi
Centre-Left leader and Interim Prime Minister Sven Berg has slammed Fahraxi for its suppression of "fake news". We spoke to Mr Berg today to see what he truly thinks about Fahraxi.

"Fahraxi is arresting journalists on the premise of their, probably more than accurate, findings. You see, to a dictatorship like Fahraxi, fake news is anything not approved by the state. Fake news is anything that goes against the state. Fahraxi is just a little Teronita. And to make matters worse, they are shooting journalists. Sure fake news is bad, but in a nation like Fahraxi, fake news is more than likely the truth."

Sven Berg, just like his predecessor Martha Jorgensen, has been a critic of Fahraxi and mainly Teronita. Both have slammed the nations for their despicable state control over the media, and suppression of journalism.

"The ways they suppress the media are atrocious. Absolutely sickening. Any other nations with any shred of dignity and a sense for human rights should condemn them."

San Montagna fails to qualify for the Western Isles cup

As the final Whistle blew in Vesuvius, The San Montagnan fans in attendance, as well as those watching at home or in bars at home, were stunned, San Montagna had failed to qualify for the cup.

Fans had high hopes coming into the game, as San Montagna had made it to the round of six last year before, but lost to eventual winners Norstham. Any hopes to replicate the success were soon forgotten as Vancouvian forward Sammy Fields netted the opening in the 30th minute, and then scored another in the 55th minute. Mario Beretta kept hopes alive when he netted a goal 2 minutes later. But These hopes were soon crushed as Vancouvian midfielder Charles Johnson scored in the 75th minute and San Montagna failed to score again. The team came home disappointed and stunned, there would be no cup this year.

San Montagnans were hit differently by this, some simply sad that San Montagna did not qualify, while others are worried over lost profit, such as bar owner Gianluigi Pirlo, who owns a location in Downtown Sabazio; "Cup season is one of the most profitable for my business, people come in droves and order dozens of beers each while they watch the matches. Those profits help me keep this place running during the less profitable parts of the year." Others are saying that this is a sign that San Montagnan football has to evolve and increase youth funding as well as construct more pitches. "How do we lose to Vancouvia?" asked one distraught fan on Social Media.

MÊNNA SHULI AND THE IFAF CUP: A POST-MORTEM

SHUHAKALLU - In a press conference this morning, players and staff for the Mênnan regional cup team broke down this year's performance. Despite the nation's lack of qualification for the Cup, the team was positive about this year's showing.

"We went out there, we won our first two games, we consistently showed that we could take our opportunities and drive in towards the net," said Coach Kihâtkut Têtê Kêvât. "We really surprised the competition, and the region took notice."

Kita Spakâ Nâ, widely regarded as the team's most valued player of the competition, has particularly garnered international attention for his stand-out performance throughout the competition. Fellow forward, Kilu Itu Ska, was verbal in his support of the nineteen-year-old striker.

"Spakâ is a real pacemaker," Itu stated. "Get him the ball and he'll make a run at it. He's got some good years ahead of him and I'm excited to see the places he'll go."

Spakâ was ecstatic about the performance. "Next year we'll go all the way," he said. "We're a pack of hungry lions now. Just watch."

Experts state that Spakâ's performance may have actually been part of the lacklustre performance of the team in later games. "The plan was get Spakâ the ball and let him do his thing, let his feet do the talking," said Eastern Promise coach Kitu Ikatshi Mputu. "When that worked, it worked, but once the opposing teams got wise to what they were dealing with, they would just dump two or three men on Spakâ and lock him down. The rest of the team just didn't have the flexibility and innovation needed to adjust around their star player being shut down game after game. If we want to see qualification let alone a win next year, we will have to encourage a more decisive, broad team goal. A star player is great, but a star team is better."

SÂTÊP DEBATE RAGES, 'ÊSH CHALLENGED

SHUHAKALLU - With the 'uhitap still unresponsive and medical prognosis not good for a return to consciousness, the Sâtêp has made the landmark decision to move forward with an emergency vote without 'uhitap approval to establish protocols for an incapable leader. However, debate immediately flared as multiple factions within the Sâtêp Chambers began debate over what shape these protocols should take. Some support an immediate removal of 'uhitap Âspu Kashaka from office and formal proceedings to elect a new 'uhitap. This has been opposed on the basis that it establishes a precedent for removal of 'uhitaps that could lead to political instability in the future and that undermines the role of the 'uhitap as laid out by Hitap Tuspêsêt Pash.

Others have suggested establishment of a temporary "Deputy 'uhitap" role until more medical information is released. Primary opposition to this suggestion centers around it's lack of definition and openness to abuse by bypassing traditional electoral protocols within the government structure.

Finally, others still have suggested that a permanent "under-'uhitap", or si'uhitap, should be added to the government structure to act in the 'uhitap's stead where required and to aid in communication and relations with the Sâtêp. Some of these individuals have gone so far as to suggest that the time is ripe for the shape of the government to no longer be forced by precedent, but that a formal constitution should be drafted to help avoid situations like this in the future. Two-fold opposition has been presented to this idea. Firstly, some claim that this could be used to create a more monarchical structure than envisaged in the founding of the country by creating the role of an "official successor", undermining democratic protocols. On the flip side, others consider this as going too far in the way of democracy, envisaging an overly Westernized concept of government by effectively establishing the 'uhitap as a "pseudo-president" as opposed to a uniquely Mênnan office. The fact that many supporters of low caste enfranchisement stand behind constitutional development have further inflamed these sentiments.

As debate heated, vêkivêlâ grew to begin throwing personal insults and pulling on long-standing political alliances. This culminated in Kivêlâ Hitap Hushkin Kêt challenging Kivêlâ Hitap Kulat Kanshêkitet to 'êsh, an event that hasn't happened on the Sâtêp floor in several years. Debate was ended and arrangements made for 'êsh to be fought this evening at the Princely Blooding Grounds in Mihêkallu. MÊK will be covering this event live at 6:30 PM MCT.

OTURIA NATIONAL ARRESTED FOR ALLEGED SPYING

Image
Security was tightened around the Airbase after the arrest.

A man who has been identified as being an Oturian National was arrested this morning on espionage charges. The man, who has yet to be named, was arrested by Military Police after being found inside restricted grounds taking photos of a Weinamese Airbase in North Weinam. The arrest comes as Weinam and Oturia had been exchanging words over the recent Oturian militarization plans, which Weinam was monitoring a part of a regional security concern.

The man arrested, was found with a rucksack containing ID documents, cash, binoculars, camera equipment, camouflage clothing and a local map of the area. He was detained at the airbase before being handed over to the Weinamese Security Bureau at around 11:20 this morning. If found guilty of spying, the man could face the death penalty under criminal laws in Weinam. A spokesman for the Air Force confirmed the arrest had been made within restricted grounds.

"We can acknowledge that a man with Oturian ID papers was arrested within restricted grounds earlier this morning. The man was found with camera equipment and camouflage clothing. We take national security very seriously and the man was transferred to our Security Bureau to establish the facts of his intentions around the air base. We have informed senior government members of the incident and it's believed they are establishing contact with Oturia to obtain details of the man". The statement made by Sergeant Yue Guaim of the Weinamese Air Force.

SÂTÊP 'ÊSH SEES BLOODY END

MIHÊKALLU - The 'êsh between vêkivêlâ Hitap Hushkin Kêt and Hitap Kulat Kanshêkitet is already over, and it sees a historic and bloody end. Hitap Kulat, 51, is dead after being rushed to hospital with a major arterial wound. Hushkin's blade, deflected by an improperly held blade, deflected into Kulat's thigh and severed the femoral artery. Doctors state that Kulat was dead on arrival at the hospital. This is the first death of a sitting kivêlâ in 'êsh in nearly fifteen years, and the first in a combat with another senator in thirty.

"I am sorry to the family of Hitap Kulat Kanshêkitet," stated Hushkin following the fight. "He was a brave man who kept his honour until the very end. These are the dangers of 'êsh, but not once did he shirk away from his pride. He was a good Mênnan and his hâkêm will be remembered."

This event throws a new spin on debate in the Sâtêp. How other senators will respond is up in the air. This event is especially concerning as without an active 'uhitap to call a vote, Kulat's seat cannot be filled.

"'êsh is dangerous," said the presiding priest, Kiahêspê Aktukesh Shaka. "Deaths happen. It is a shame that it had to happen here."
