With improving results year after year capped off with Mercedini's first ever Top 10 performance, Emittente Nazionale di Mercedini (ENM) decided to renew SongSearch for another year after a vast rebrand of Mercedini's national broadcaster. Mercedini are hoping to get yet another Top 10 performance and have set a five-year goal of getting at least a podium finish but ideally winning the contest in that time frame. This year, another eight songs have been selected by a panel of ENM executives and WorldVision fans in the hope of sending a winning song to WV52. This year's theme is heavily based on the 'Identity of Mercedini' with songs coming far and wide from experienced performers and local start-ups in Mercedini. Without further ado, here are the eight songs vying for your votes tonight:

01 >> Rhythm DMZ ft. Chinook & Abigail Westford - Lift Me Up
Tune: Major Lazer ft. Ariana Grande & Machel Montano - All My Love

02 >> Lukasz - Until Tomorrow
Tune: Darin - Ta Mig Tillbaka

03 >> Samuel Borlaviac - Living My Dream
Tune: Justin Bieber - What Do You Mean?

04 >> Le Ragazze Felici ft. Knox - In2
Tune: De Fam ft. Brandon Beal - With You

05 >> M'folo Asante - My Time
Tune: Kwabs - Walk

06 >> Rapidly Descending Barrier - Get It On
Tune: The 1975 - Chocolate

07 >> Missy B - Your Love
Tune: Becky G - Shower

08 >> Charlie Donliffe & ManDem - Nel Mio Cuore
Tune: Danny Saucedo ft. Malcom B - Brinner I Brostet

To vote in Mercedini's national selection, please send a telegram to Mercedini stating the song title, artist and the amount of points you are giving to the song. Give 10pts to your favourite, then 8 for second, 6 for third, 4 for fourth and then 3 down to 1 for fifth to seventh. The song that finishes in eighth place receives no points from your nation. We hope you enjoyed this edition of SongSearch, and we wish you good luck in the WorldVision Song Contest.

There is no such thing as a "postcard system." Not every host has to do a postcard. A postcard is an optional though recommended thing to do to enhance your contest. Below, I have listed postcard examples - all of which are different. Never has anyone "copied" from anyone, they're all unique from each other - even though they do the exact same job.

A postcard is a basically similar to what they do in Eurovision. The postcard for Russia in Eurovision 2015 was;
Image

Whereas Ukraine in 2014 was

Image

They're two different ideas and they don't copy from each other. If you want more examples closer to home;

WorldVision 36: Muliphu

Image

WorldVision 40 : Rokkestaat

Image

WorldVision 41: Quickenden

Image

WorldVision 45 : Lavington

Image

WorldVision 50: Kasin

As the host where you have seemed to find inspiration, I advise you to reconsider your postcard design, because I doubt people (who vote based on postcards) would vote for the same postcard with a different writing for this edition. I know for others or non-bidders it isn't a biggy, but for me it is.

Um nobody except Kalosia does the first, and as to the second, each nation's postcard is supposed to be unique (as far as nation name and entry details, possibly extending to flag and something that relates to your bid's theme).

Postcards I've made in bids/hosting:

WV49/50; theme was "Fire and Ice"
Image

WV36; theme was "Cream of the Crop"
Image

WV32; theme was "Portal Through Worlds"

But Polandballs can be pretty popular as postcards.

I used Keynote (fancy Powerpoint) for the animated versions on the bid video, but the actual ones were in Photoshop. Again, inspiration was from this. Imitation is honestly easier than you think... or maybe it's because they were based off polygonal shapes.

I'm very in favour for the idea of WVball, it's been proposed several times before but never really made it... I think. (I'm not sure whether it was Polkopia who bid with them in '38)
While the stage is my main concern in bid-voting (so if your bid has no stage it automatically does not get any points from me), I also take postcards into consideration. I'd say it's the 2nd most important thing I consider but I see it as a nice-to-have, not a must-have.

Yes, it was Polkopia. I remember because I was using "Rhythm Inside" and my country ball was playing the drum to the tune. :p

One set of lyrics is due in a little over a day, another is due in a little over a month. Guess which one I've completed and which one I haven't started on at all?

The Kalosian entry for the 52nd WorldVision Song Contest is titled "Living" and will be performed by a to-be-determined 4-member girlband. A full news article to be released... by the time things are determined.

An infamous Kalosian psychic has predicted that a woman of Britonish descent will represent the island nation at the WorldVision Song Contest within the foreseeable future (pun intended). This comes after news of the kingdom's withdrawal, and before the Kalosian entrant and song are revealed later this week.
Obviously all it does is nothing but add to the rumour mill, though this announcement puts her credibility into question — if it's true, she just has insider info; if it's false, she's a fraud. "Remember, I did not say exactly when this will be fulfilled", she said. "Only that it will happen before the trees turn green again."

Brit, I will TG you at a later time.

Thanks.
