Work Begins on the Great Delta Dam

After weeks of deliberation between all guilds, with the Energy and Environment Guilds heading talks, the third of Atlantean megaprojects has been approved for the Great Delta, successor to the Amazon RIver that now flows through Zuela Council.

It is set to be 221 meters tall, 6 kilometers long and 60 meters thick, across the width of the river and extrapolated for the future reservoir and high floodwater levels.
With 40 million cubic meters of concrete, 500,000 tonnes of carbon steel, as well as 275 tonnes of zinc and exterior aluminium framing for long term integrity.

Supporters say that the projected 34 thousand megawatts will take huge weight off of energy demands in rapidly developing regions, enough to cover 12% of Atlantean energy demands alone, reservoir providing huge irrigation possibilities and store huge water sources for industrial and economic applications as well as fight off the continuing Amazon wildfires with a massive nearby store of water.

Critics, mainly researchers from ongoing ALASO missions say that this huge concentration of mass will literally lengthen the days of all of Sancturia, displace species and natives and disrupt the environment. As election season comes soon, both presidential candidates are seen stepping out of their comfort zone. Progressive candidate LRJ is live streaming a visit to Tomington where he discusses net benefits to Tomington and Pastuhland mid campaign, while conservative candidate and incumbent President Dixon is seen reluctantly shaking hands with Helen Musk, someone he frequently criticized for being "in the Kannedy class" and as "one of Kannedy's cronies". A party shift can be slightly seen with more white collar and managerial folks being inclined towards globalism while more blue collar unionists and the Workers Coalition shifting from progressive backing to conservative backing.

Election Debate Heats Up

With the next election just ten days away, the leaders of the four main Apocalyptian political parties have been ramping up their efforts to sway the voters to their cause.

Tonight was the main debate between the four party leaders, broadcast live on the Apocalyptian Public Network (APN) and watched by an estimated 75 million people. Due to the recent terrorist attack, and with the threat level still at 'Critical,' security at the Capitol was provided by the military. Heavily armed soldiers maintained roadblocks, established sniper positions on rooftops, and conducted searches, while armoured vehicles and tanks patrolled the streets.

Herald Dawson, leader of the National Unity Party, arrived at 19:35. Louise Greene, leader of the Democratic Reform Party, arrived at 19:42. Francine Jones, leader of the Apocalyptian Labour Party, arrived at 19:46, and Howard Stone of the Iron National Front (INF) arrived at 19:55.

The debate began at 20:30.

Frank Carter: Welcome to the debate, everyone. My name is Frank Carter, and I will be serving as the mediator tonight. Before we begin, let me go over our two main rules. Number one, no talking over your opponents; wait for them to finish speaking before making your own argument. And number two, each of you may only talk for a maximum of two minutes, as we have a lot of topics to cover. So, with that in mind, let us get started; why don't you all introduce yourselves from left to right?
Herald Dawson: My name is Kevin Dawson, and I lead the National Unity Party. It is our belief that the Apocalypse can prove its strength through our economy and maintaining positive relationships with other countries, instead of relying solely on the military; if I am re-elected on September 21st, I intend to keep improving both.
Louise Greene: My name is Louise Greene, and I lead the Democratic Reform Party. The fact that our nation has adopted the practice of democracy is a good start, but we need to go further, and the DRP is the party which will deliver. If I am elected on September 21st, I promise to reduce corruption, and make the government more transparent and more efficient.
Francine Jones: My name is Francine Jones, and I lead the Apocalyptian Labour Party. If I am elected on September 21st, I will represent not the Apocalypse, but the Apocalyptian people as a whole. I will cut military spending, increase wages and give the poorest in our society the safety net they deserve by taxing the rich who are keeping them down.
Howard Stone: I am Howard Stone, and I lead the Iron National Front. We in the INF believe that the Apocalypse was better without democracy; I realise the irony in my becoming a party leader, but if I am elected on September 21st, I will immediately convert this country back to the autocracy it was, and focus on vastly improving our military in order to take what we want by force of arms, and not by sitting around a table talking about our feelings.

With the introductions out of the way, the debate began in earnest. The leaders debated a variety of topics, including, but not limited to:

• The economy
• Welfare
• Industry
• Defence
• International relations
• Corruption
• Terrorism

Howard Stone broke the debate rules multiple times during the debate, often interrupting the other leaders as they spoke. He was particularly fond of interrupting the Herald, which he did on twenty-eight separate occasions. After ignoring repeated requests from the mediator to stop, it was decided at 21:15 that he should be removed from the debate; a picture of him shouting at reporters outside the Capitol while being forced to a waiting car by a pair of Shadow Troopers quickly went viral on various social media sites.

The debate ended shortly afterwards. Despite the actions of its leader, the INF reportedly moved up in the polls by a margin of three percent; the Apocalyptian Election Regulations Bureau (AERB) has said it will conduct a fresh poll in order to confirm this.

Once that final meeting between the two concluded, the Confederation of Raies came to an abrupt end, sparking the Wars of Unification. The Confederation shattered, giving rise to nearly fifty distinct entities, each fighting for what their accursed bloodlines deemed rightfully theirs; yet, of these fifty, only five were of major significance:

The Territory of Previx , a wild wasteland whose wretched fauna was matched only by its rulers, House Kamilla. They had originally been given the chance to become civilized, but they clung to their ancient customs until the outbreak of the civil war, when their bloodlust drove them to attack their neighbors.

The Republics of Neuriff, colossal centers of culture, art, and science, home to several of the great universities Corvus had helped establish. Yet, the moment news of His Majesty's death reached them, they tore down the imperial banners. ...and they replaced pencils and paintbrushes with cannons and gunpowder weapons; they retained little decency once their feud with the Previx began.

The counties of Rebrex were among the last to leave the Confederacy, yet they were also among the last to be subdued; led by the Kiup, Mskka, and Fierroy dynasties, they managed to hold out by constructing massive castles and fortresses—and yet, their walls fell.

The baronies of Veria—the first traitors, and those whose greed for gold dealt the death blow to the confederacy—were led by Baron Visk Cassolo Miresmos. May his name be forgotten and cursed; he spearheaded a revolt that shattered the established unity and brought in mercenary vermin to serve as the backbone of his troops.

Finally, we come to the dual Vielot-Kritz coalition—formed by Marquis Bernardo Piast and the first Duke of the newly established Duchy of Kritzia—which constituted the remnants of the confederation until the death of Prince Ludiwik Pzwicj, grandson of the monarch Corvus Ygriv. Upon the death of the legitimate prince, the decision was made to dismantle the coalition's fragile chain of command; consequently, the objective shifted from re-establishing the coalition to unifying the territories—by reason or by force.

The truth may be interrupted, but it cannot be silenced. We know that the people are with us, and together we will end this failed experiment and restore the Apocalypse to the strength it once had, under the leadership of Howard Stone.

Last night's events were unfortunate, but they also revealed an important truth: the Apocalypse deserves better than intimidation, shouting and disruptions.

To put it bluntly, Howard Stone's behaviour was a choice. No one forced him to attack the debate, to ignore the rules, or to resort to aggression. The security team simply did their job to ensure the safety of all participants and to allow the debate to continue.

The people of the Apocalypse expect serious leadership, not outbursts. They expect solutions, not chaos. While others seek to tear down our democracy, the National Unity Party remains committed to a safer, stronger and more prosperous tomorrow through unity, not division.

We will not be distracted by the theatrics of those who put their own ambition above the nation. Our focus remains on the real issues: security, opportunity and a better future for every Apocalyptian.

The people's voice will not be silenced.

Following the new Pastan elections and campaigning strategies, both presidential candidates LRJ and Dixon get to speak to opposing voters to answer questions!

Dixon is at the progressive party convention, while LRJ is at the conservative party convention.

LRJ: Hello guys, Big Di_k here. I promise big deals and big money. I'll answer questions.

Reporter: First question - How do you plan on keeping Pastan businesses afloat? What will stop companies from migrating to Atlantea or Laurentinne for fairer deals?

LRJ: Pastans are patriotic - They will stay home to fix it. There is little to no Pastan immigrants internationally aside from a small diaspora in Josan. The goal is for our companies to compete with the west, which means workers get more empowerment. Fight for your wages, and work hard! As president, I promise big earnings to all Pastans.

Reporter: Second question - How heavy are you gonna tax the working class?

LRJ: Now listen, the government shouldn't be feared. There's been a bit of a crime issue, and funding cops is necessary to prevent these crimes. Of course we're relatively a safe nation, but the crime rate can be cut down. I know I plan on raising taxes, but the working and lower classes are affected the least. I'm against the big businesses that exploit the poor.

Reporter: Third question - Do you believe the West is a threat to Pastuhland?

LRJ: We have to get out of this mindset that everyone is trying to jump over us. Most other nations just want money. I get this nation loves to be confrontational and suspicious of other nations, but other countries are advancing at a faster rate than Pastuhland. Atlantea is literally hyper speeding past us and we just let it slide as a nation because our president literally went "yeah lets do a cold war" instead of actually doing economic trade.

Reporter: Fourth question - Should the internet be regulated?

LRJ: Is this because our president had a scandal due to it? Yes, it absolutely should. Pastans are making way too many offensive jokes, Pastans are always getting away with doing socially unacceptable stuff on the internet, and a full scale state regulation of words not allowed is for the better if it means our allies like Atlantea, Laurentinne, Rynsha, Roman, Zorgazia, and the rest of the world can actually respect us as a nation.

Reporter: Fifth question - Do you plan on offshoring many jobs to Tomington?

LRJ: We need to offshore the jobs to Pastuhland, by building Tomingtese EV plants in Pastuhland. These plants will hire Pastan workers, and Pastan workers will abide by Pastan tax codes instead of the Tomingtese brutal 88% tax rate. I know Dixon fear mongered those uneducated savages that Tomington will pig away the money, but this is literally false.

Dixon: Alright. Let's get it over with.

Reporter: First question - Do you fund gangsters and criminals?

Dixon: So my modest history of working with gangsters and criminals deep rooted inside the hoods of Gold Coast is weaponized? That's interesting. No, I don't. Those anarcho capitalists may literally burn down government services and are the biggest terrorist cartel in Pastuhland, but if you don't spew out any socialistic or anti Pastan views, you're fine. These guys are suspicious of foreigners and tourists and naturally we have less tourists due to that, but you just need common sense.

Reporter: Second question - Do you believe in globalism?

Dixon: Reminder I am the president known for opening up diplomacy to many nations. I have formed a new global hegemony on rice production, and I plan on keeping it that way. By exporting rice to all of Asia, both Myanmar and Pastuhland get benefits. However, we shouldn't open up trade willy nilly. You know the president before me left for Atlantea? Think about it. Atlantea frame mogs Pastuhland in literally every metric, it's only due to nationalism and love of home why Pastans don't leave to Atlantea.

Reporter: Third question - What's your di_k size?

Dixon: Wild and inappropriate question. I won't answer that, but you can look it up yourselves.

Reporter: Fourth question - Do you plan on repealing gay marriage?

Dixon: Just because homosexuals and the like don't get special benefits in Pastuhland for being homosexual doesn't mean Pastuhland is a homophobic nation. No one cares who you do in the bedroom, they only care if you can handle dark/offensive jokes. If you can't, a 2 way ticket to Rynsha can be made. And I hate to warn you, but there's mild racism of Pastans in Rynsha due to perceived homophobia.

Reporter: Fifth question - Do you plan on full annexation of Myanmar?

Dixon: Keep Myanmar sovereign, there's many imperalists who would attack me just to seize more of Myanmar for themselves due to the sheer rice and agricultural resources available in those lands. Myanmar is not for sale, Myanmar is an independent nation, and Pastuhland will have full commitment to keeping Myanmar stable.

Poll Shows Sharp Change In Voter Tastes

After Sunday's dramatic debate, the Iron National Front was reported to have moved up in the polls by a margin of three percent. However, the Apocalyptian Election Regulations Bureau (AERB) conducted a fresh poll in order to ascertain whether or not this was true, and the results have proven to be quite damaging for the INF.

A poll of 10,000 people suggested that, if the election were to be held tomorrow, the outcome would be a landslide victory for the National Unity Party.

• DRP: 19%
• ALP: 8%
• INF: 1%

Obviously, ten thousand people is only a tiny proportion of registered voters in the Apocalypse, so it goes without saying that the actual result will be different. Many of those polled described Howard Stone's actions during the debate using words such as immature, arrogant, embarrassing, cringeworthy, ridiculous, and over the top. Others said that they were INF supporters who found Stone's actions - and the party's response - to be disgraceful, and that they'd be voting for someone else instead.

With just eight days to go until the election, pressure is mounting on the INF to do something to regain voter confidence; when asked if the INF would remove Stone as party leader, however, a party spokeswoman said 'doing that is out of the question.'

Another Terrorist Stronghold Falls

After a battle lasting roughly twelve hours, Moracan and Apocalyptian troops have razed another terrorist base to the ground; the two forces attacked the base from multiple sides at once, eventually meeting each other in the middle once the fighting had stopped.

Over five hundred terrorists were killed during the battle, which also claimed the lives of thirty-five Apocalyptian soldiers. Moracan casualties are unknown, but it is believed that the Moracan Ministry of Defence will share the numbers soon.

This is the latest step on the road towards annihilating the terrorist menace, a road the Apocalypse is all too willing to walk along, no matter how long it is, or how bloody it becomes.

In the meantime, military action will continue taking place against terrorist targets; Apocalyptian Military High Command has also gone on record as saying that any and all vessels or people from the Moracan Terrorist Territory are forbidden to be anywhere near Apocalyptian military assets, as they will be treated as a threat and fired upon.

Moraco Betrays The Apocalypse!

Earlier today, an Apocalyptian military unit operating against terror cells in the deserts of Moraco suddenly came under heavy fire. The soldiers in the unit took cover and fired back, before it became apparent that the shots had come from Moracan soldiers who were operating nearby. An order to cease fire was given, at which the shooting stopped, and the officer in charge stood up to call out to the Morocans that they had been firing on friendlies.

After a pause, another shot rang out and the officer fell down, having taken a round to the shoulder. Shortly after, the Morocan soldiers resumed firing at the Apocalyptian troops, who had no choice but to return fire and call in an airstrike on their position. This succeeded in driving the Morocans off, but the damage had been done; four Apocalyptian soldiers were dead, and another eighteen - including the officer - were wounded.

Several wounded Morocan soldiers were captured and interrogated, whereupon they revealed that the Morocan government had collapsed, and that they didn't want the Apocalypse taking over once news reached us, though the government has said that we have no intention of claiming any more land at this time.

As a result of this sudden and unforgivable betrayal, all military assets currently engaged against the terrorists are to be brought back to the fatherland. Apocalyptian Military High Command is satisfied that the terrorists are in no position to launch further attacks against us, but - if they somehow are - the mere fact we'd come down on them like a ton of bricks again should be more than enough of a deterrent.

Even though this betrayal can be considered a valid casus belli, Herald Dawson has said he has no intention of declaring war on Moraco. Instead, all diplomatic ties have been severed, Morocan diplomats have been expelled, and embassies between us have been shut down both in the Apocalypse and in Moraco itself. The Apocalypse and Moraco will both go their separate ways, and will never interact with each other ever again.

But if Moraco decides otherwise, the Apocalypse will be all too eager to show them the error of their ways...

A lack of connectivity and quality infrastructure had somewhat hampered trade between the Free Republic of Gwenn and the rest of Laurentinne; yet, even while focusing its efforts on the coronation, the government kept its sights on the West. Under a treaty regarding investment and the routing of a transcontinental railway, Laurentinne companies—most notably Violet Corp—have been vigorously pushing forward with construction.
Aware of local nomadic groups—survivors of the Great War—the military deployed forces to Gwenn to monitor and protect the railway construction. Grand Marshal of War Wallace aus Hornenkruven and the Königin of War, Maxxine Constantine, met to discuss the current state of the armed forces.

They met at a café in the Kesmitarian district of Seattle. Wallace—a man weathered by the passage of time—smiled as he saw the commander approaching from across the street. Max (short for Maxxine) was wearing a jacket and sweatpants; she sat down across from Wallace and smiled.
"Have you ordered a drink yet? After the war in Rynsha, I discovered I was addicted to coffee. I also learned that, centuries ago, coffee was more expensive than wine and was known as 'black wine'—funny, isn't it?" The young woman picks up the menu and looks at the options.

"Don't even get me started on that war; my grandson married a refugee from that place. After you came back from there, you picked up a lot of bad habits, my friend." He strokes his beard—a peculiar, eye-catching style reminiscent of a 19th-century nobleman.

"There's a name we need to discuss today." Max lowers the menu and signals a waiter.

"Alexius," the Marshal added.

"I convinced Amber to force the unification of the armed forces under the Empire. But beyond the benefits of abolishing tariffs and the thirty different currencies circulating in Laurentinne, we need to clean up the mess those geriatric oligarchs made of our troops... I mean... we've been threatened countless times... what is our worth, really?" Max speaks, staring out the window with a deadly look in his eyes.

"You're almost scaring me... besides, I *am* a nobleman and a 'geriatric,' just like you said." Wallace huffs.

ENTTOLVADISIERUNG IS COMPLETE

The Government has also declared the formal completion of the programme commonly referred to as:

THE FINAL SENTENCES

The military tribunal sitting in the former Supreme Court complex of Kronenstadt am Awatscha has completed proceedings against the senior surviving leadership of the former Tolvad state.

Former senior government officials and high-ranking military commanders found individually responsible for wartime crimes, unlawful orders and actions connected with the destruction carried out during the final phase of the war were sentenced following tribunal proceedings.

The final death sentences were carried out by hanging.

All remaining sentences have now been executed or transferred into the ordinary Dominion penal system.

There was no military parade.

There was no celebration.

The condemned were informed of the final decision, transferred into custody of the responsible judicial authorities and the sentences were completed.

The National Unity Party has made sweeping gains, with voters citing Herald Dawsons handling of the debate incident, as well as his work to improve the image of the Apocalypse on the world stage, as reasons for casting their ballot in favour of his party.

The Apocalyptian Labour Party's surge in popularity has been credited to their efforts to improve conditions for Apocalyptian workers; Francine Jones - the party's leader - was recently successful in her campaign to get the national minimum wage increased from seventy-five to one-hundred credits per hour, which she says will leave tens of millions of workers 'just a little better off, even after paying the draconian taxes we have to put up with.'

Supporters of the Democratic Reform Party were surprised by their loss in popularity, which has been blamed on many of their members choosing to vote for the NUP or ALP instead.

It goes without saying that the INF has taken a serious battering in this election, losing 27 of the 29 seats they held in Parliament. Recent events surrounding Howard Stone, the party's leader, have been attributed to this loss. Despite this, Stone says that nearly three million 'loyal and outstanding patriots of the highest calibre' stil chose to vote for him, showing that, while the INF may be down, it is almost certainly not out.

The next election will be held in a couple of years.

Visit From Histarctican Delegation Welcomed

Herald Dawson has reacted positively to news that a Histarctican delegation has expressed an interest in visiting the Apocalypse in order to discuss strengthening diplomatic relations and exploring opportunities for increased trade and broader cooperation between our nations. The Apocalypse already works alongside Histarctica in the Suez Canal, and Foreign Secretary Keira Grey has expressed her desire to improve relations further. The meeting is expected to take place in the Capitol Building, recently rebuilt after the devastating fire which destroyed it earlier this year.

With the terrorist attack in Geotopia still fresh in everyone's minds, the Apocalyptian military has pledged to ensure that no harm comes to the delegation during their visit. Each member will be assigned two Shadow Troopers - the name given to the Apocalyptian Army's elite commando unit - to serve as their bodyguards, and ten thousand additional soldiers will be deployed to the capital during the visit to strengthen security and deter any potential hostile action. All civilians within a ten block radius of the Capitol have been warned that they may be subjected to random searches and questioning as long as they remain in the area.

It is hoped that the meeting with the Histarctican delegation will be fruitful, and lead to a more solid working relationship.

KSD personnel are examining:

The objective is to identify where Lauenburg-produced systems remain.

Kronenstadt am Awatscha now operates as a functioning Dominion capital.

Civil administration has taken over most responsibilities previously held by military authorities.

New Dominion police services are expanding.

Railways are carrying civilian passengers rather than almost exclusively engineering and military traffic.

Ports reopened during reconstruction are now handling commercial cargo at steadily increasing rates.

The first full post-war census is nearing completion.

Economic authorities are simultaneously preparing the Dominion's first comprehensive production and income statistics.

Neu-Tolvad remains visibly scarred by the war.

It is no longer governed as if the war were still happening.

FACTORIES CHANGE ORDERS

Lauenburg industry is also changing direction.

During Der Eisenwolfkrieg, major defence factories operated extended schedules to replace ammunition, vehicles and aircraft components consumed during the campaign.

Several facilities are now returning part of their production capacity to civilian orders.

THE SOLDIERS COME HOME

Rotational units returning from Neu-Tolvad and Myanmar are passing through the demobilization and reassignment system.

Professional soldiers return to their normal units.

Reservists activated for wartime functions are gradually returning to civilian employment.

Military hospitals continue long-term treatment and rehabilitation programmes for personnel wounded during Der Eisenwolfkrieg.

Veterans' offices have reported a sharp increase in applications concerning:

• disability compensation
• rehabilitation
• education benefits
• employment assistance
• housing support

The Social Order and Welfare Ministry has requested additional funding for these programmes in the next budget.

That request has already become a political issue in the Landrat.

A DIFFERENT KIND OF SECURITY PROBLEM

The Königliche Staatspolizei reports that the end of the war has produced an increase in attempts to move unregistered military material from former combat zones into civilian markets.

Most cases involve relatively ordinary items.

Some do not.

Civilian life has likewise become considerably less dominated by military news.

Major sporting competitions have resumed normal scheduling.

Universities across the homeland, Ōshū and the southern Dominions have begun a new academic term with the largest number of former servicemen entering higher education since the expansion of the overseas system.

Rail passenger traffic has increased sharply as wartime priority restrictions are removed.

Hotels in the Baltic coastal regions report increased domestic tourism.

After months in which newspapers were dominated by fronts, fleets and casualty reports, considerably more space is once again being occupied by football, railway delays and complaints about municipal construction.

THE ONE-SEAT MAJORITY RETURNS TO THE CENTER OF POLITICS
Landrat Turns from War to Budgets, Neu-Tolvad and the Limits of Executive Power

The end of Der Eisenwolfkrieg has returned domestic politics to the center of attention in the Königlicher Landrat.

The governing coalition remains exactly as narrow as it was on the day it was formed.

Nationale Erneuerungsfront — 41 seats.

Sozialer Arbeiterbund — 20 seats.

Together:

61 OF 120 SEATS.

One seat above failure.

That arithmetic has not changed.

The issues surrounding it have.

THE POST-WAR BUDGET FIGHT

Prime Minister Dr. Konrad von Rabenfels has presented the Government's first broad post-war fiscal programme.

The Government argues that the Empire must simultaneously finance:

• integration of Neu-Tolvad
• veterans' programmes
• replacement of wartime military losses
• continued overseas infrastructure
• economic normalization
• security operations in Moraco

The difficulty is that every party agrees these things cost money.

They disagree strongly about which ones should receive it first.

The NEF argues that the Empire must preserve the military strength demonstrated during Der Eisenwolfkrieg and cannot immediately dismantle wartime readiness.

The SAB supports continued defence expenditure but is demanding substantially greater allocations for veterans, housing and social programmes.

The coalition therefore remains intact.

It is not particularly quiet.

KVP ATTACKS THE GOVERNMENT FROM THE RIGHT

The Kronen-Volkspartei, holding 40 seats, has focused its criticism on the Government's use of extraordinary administrative powers during the war and reconstruction period.

KVP deputies have demanded more extensive parliamentary reporting on:

• classified post-war expenditures
• the Neu-Tolvad transitional administration
• Moraco operations
• emergency procurement contracts

The party has not challenged the sovereignty of the Crown over Neu-Tolvad.

It has challenged the amount of discretion given to the Cabinet while establishing that sovereignty in practice.

Several KVP deputies have also argued that institutions created during wartime should not quietly become permanent merely because ministers find them convenient.

THE LIBERALS WANT THE RECEIPTS

The Liberal Reform Party has adopted a more straightforward position.

It wants documents.

LFP deputies are pressing for stronger parliamentary auditing of reconstruction contracts and classified expenditure.

The party has particularly questioned how long expenditure may remain hidden under emergency appropriations after the emergency itself has ended.

Government ministers have responded that some military and intelligence expenditure cannot be publicly itemized.

The LFP agrees.

It merely wants somebody outside the Government to see the numbers.

The debate continues.

RLL LOOKS AT THE HOMELAND

The Regionalist League of Lauenburg has taken a different approach.

Its seven deputies argue that enormous sums have been invested in Dominions, wars and strategic infrastructure while municipalities inside the homeland continue requesting money for local roads, hospitals and rail modernization.

The RLL therefore wants a larger share of the next infrastructure budget reserved for the historic Länder.

The argument has found some support among KVP backbenchers.

It has found considerably less enthusiasm inside ministries responsible for Neu-Tolvad.

THE GOVERNMENT AND THE CROWN

Relations between the Government and the Imperial Palace remain formally correct.

The political tension exposed during the first audience between Prime Minister von Rabenfels and Emperor Albrecht IV has not disappeared entirely.

Neither side appears interested in reopening the confrontation publicly.

The four senior strategic officials retained through the change of government continue in their posts:

Generaloberst Markus von Stettin.

Admiral Konrad Eberbach.

Obersturmherr Viktor Reinhardt.

Sturmkommandant Wilhelm Strasse.

Their institutional loyalty remains directed toward the Crown, Constitution and continuity of the state rather than any individual Cabinet.

That fact has become increasingly important as the Government discusses future reform of defence and security structures.

Rumors concerning a deeper confrontation between the NEF and the Palace continue to circulate.

No evidence has emerged demonstrating an organized attempt against the monarchy.

The Imperial State Press Office therefore continues to classify such claims as political speculation.

HARTWIG VON LICHTENAU HAS A DIFFICULT JOB

Landratspräsident Professor Dr. Hartwig von Lichtenau has spent an increasing amount of parliamentary time keeping debates within procedural limits.

The chamber is no longer united by an active war.

This has reminded deputies that they belong to different parties.

Debates concerning spending, veterans, Neu-Tolvad, Moraco and government oversight have consequently become considerably louder.

First Deputy Gerhard Möllendorf of the SAB continues to serve as an important intermediary between the coalition partners.

Second Deputy Baron Friedrich von Bredow of the KVP has become one of the principal parliamentary voices demanding greater scrutiny of the Government.

Nobody has yet lost a confidence vote.

Nobody intends to be the first.

THE NUMBER THAT CONTROLS THE GOVERNMENT

For all the speeches, programmes and ideological disputes, the present political situation can still be reduced to one number:

If every NEF and SAB deputy votes with the Government, Dr. von Rabenfels governs.

If one member disappears and the opposition remains united, the arithmetic becomes uncomfortable.

If two defect, the Government has a serious problem.

That reality gives individual coalition deputies unusual influence over legislation.

It also means that every disagreement between the NEF and SAB immediately attracts attention throughout Lauenburg.

The coalition has survived a war.

Its next challenge may prove considerably more traditional.

The Empire this week received a high-level diplomatic delegation from the Directorate of Histarctica as part of a broader tour intended to strengthen relations between Histarctica and its international partners.

The monument depicts successive periods of Lauenburg military history and commemorates the soldiers of the wars of unification.

Officials accompanying the delegation explained the historical development of the Crown from a divided regional state into the present Imperial system.

The visit was intentionally ceremonial rather than political.

Wreaths were placed at the memorial.

No speeches were delivered.

DINNER WITH THE IMPERIAL FAMILY

Following the ministerial programme, the delegation travelled to:

UNTERNEHMEN ERZWACHT SECURES THE MINES
All Lauenburg Mining Complexes in Moraco Under Protection — Marines Reinforce Spezialkräfte as Weapons Recovery Operation Nears Completion

The first major objective of Unternehmen Erzwacht has been completed.

Every mining complex constructed and operated through Lauenburg investment inside the former Federation of Moraco has now been secured.

Initial protection was established by the:

SPEZIALKRÄFTE DER KRONE

following the collapse of the Moracan central government.

The operation was launched after the Reichsministerium für Wirtschaft und Industrie warned that Lauenburg-owned tungsten and zinc facilities faced a serious risk from looting, irregular armed groups and fragments of the former Moracan military.

No major mining installation has been lost.

No strategic mineral stockpile under Imperial control has been seized.

The immediate emergency phase is therefore considered successful.

THE MARINES ARRIVE

Spezialkräfte units were never intended to become permanent mine guards.

Their purpose was to arrive first.

They did.

Several days after the initial seizure and stabilization of the installations, detachments of the:

KRONEN-MARINEINFANTERIEKORPS

began arriving at the secured mining complexes.

Marine units will now establish rotational security duties around the facilities.

This will allow Spezialkräfte personnel to concentrate upon more specialized tasks while the mines remain protected by a larger conventional security presence.

The current arrangement provides:

• continuous perimeter protection
• security for workers and engineers
• protection of mineral storage areas
• security for power and water infrastructure
• escort for selected logistical movements
• rapid response capability if armed groups approach the facilities

Mining operations are expected to resume or expand where local conditions permit.

A QUESTION OF TERRITORY

The Imperial General Staff has confirmed that preliminary discussions are taking place concerning the long-term status of the areas surrounding the mining complexes.

One possibility under consideration is the establishment of more permanent Imperial-controlled security zones around the facilities.

More extensive territorial measures have also been discussed.

No decision has been taken.

The question is currently being examined by military planners, the Foreign Ministry, the Reichsministerium für Wirtschaft und Industrie and the relevant overseas authorities.

The Government has emphasized that the existence of a planning document does not constitute a territorial proclamation.

Moraco's collapse has created circumstances in which the old security arrangements no longer exist.

The Empire must therefore determine what replaces them.

For now:

the mines are protected.

The map is unchanged.

THE WEAPONS RECOVERY OPERATION

The second major component of Unternehmen Erzwacht has also made substantial progress.

Before the Moracan collapse, Lauenburg defence industries produced specialized military equipment for the Moracan armed forces.

After central command disappeared, the Crown regarded the uncontrolled circulation of this equipment as a serious proliferation risk.

KSD teams therefore began identifying former units, depots and storage sites where Lauenburg-manufactured military systems had been stationed.

The results have exceeded initial expectations.

Most of the recoverable equipment has now been located.

Vehicles, weapons and support systems successfully recovered by Imperial forces have been transported across the frontier into:

KRON-DOMINIUM ALBRECHTSLAND

where they are being stored inside secured military depots pending technical inspection and a decision concerning their future use.

Some may be retained for evaluation.

Some may remain in long-term storage.

Some may eventually be dismantled.

WHAT COULD NOT BE RECOVERED

A smaller number of systems could not be securely removed.

Those systems have been permanently rendered unusable.

Recovered KSD reports indicate that equipment left behind has been damaged to the point where meaningful military or technical exploitation is no longer possible.

The Government will not publish locations, quantities or methods associated with these actions.

The result is sufficient.

KSD personnel continue searching for several remaining inventory discrepancies.

The scale of the operation is nevertheless already declining.

What began as a race to locate an entire foreign arsenal has increasingly become an accounting exercise involving a much smaller number of missing systems.

THE MORACO QUESTION IS NOT OVER

The collapse of the Federation has created a long-term strategic problem along the frontier of Albrechtsland.

The Crown now possesses:

• major economic interests inside former Moracan territory
• protected mining installations
• military personnel operating around those installations
• a direct border with a politically fragmented region

This arrangement cannot remain improvised indefinitely.

The Imperial Government is therefore preparing a wider Moraco policy.

What that policy will ultimately become has not yet been decided.

Until then, the instruction to Imperial forces remains unchanged:

First Königliche Raumstreitkräfte Detachment Reaches the Imperial Space Station

For the first time in the history of the Empire, a permanent military formation of the Crown is now stationed beyond the atmosphere.

The first operational detachment of the:

KÖNIGLICHE RAUMSTREITKRÄFTE
Royal Space Forces

has successfully reached the Imperial space station.

The deployment represents the transition of the Raumstreitkräfte from an Earth-based organization responsible largely for preparation, training and support into an armed service with personnel permanently assigned to an orbital installation.

The first detachment consists of:

• space operations personnel
• communications specialists
• technical crews
• security personnel
• medical personnel
• orbital systems specialists

Exact personnel numbers have not been publicly released.

NOT A CEREMONIAL DEPLOYMENT

The soldiers have not been sent into orbit merely to place a Crown insignia beside an airlock.

Their responsibilities include:

• security of the station
• protection of Imperial personnel
• continuous monitoring of station systems
• orbital communications
• coordination with ground control
• emergency response
• support for scientific and technical personnel
• observation of the surrounding orbital environment

The station remains a mixed civil, scientific and strategic installation.

The arrival of the Raumstreitkräfte does not convert every laboratory into a barracks.

It does establish a permanent military presence responsible for protecting one of the most expensive and strategically sensitive installations ever constructed by the Empire.

The initial deployment is not expected to remain aboard indefinitely.

The Königliche Raumstreitkräfte are introducing a rotational system under which orbital personnel will serve defined periods aboard the station before returning to Earth.

Future rotations will allow the service to build a progressively larger cadre of personnel possessing direct operational experience in space.

Training standards have consequently been expanded to include:

• extended operation in microgravity
• orbital emergency procedures
• station maintenance
• medical response in space
• long-duration isolation
• coordination between military and civilian crews

The first detachment will also evaluate procedures that will later become standard across the service.

In practical terms, many of the rules of the Königliche Raumstreitkräfte are currently being written by the people who must actually use them.

THE NEWEST SERVICE OF THE CROWN

The Raumstreitkräfte remain considerably smaller than the Landgarde, Luftflotte or Seestreitkräfte.

Their strategic importance is nevertheless increasing rapidly.

Modern Imperial infrastructure increasingly depends upon space-based systems for:

• communications
• navigation
• meteorological observation
• scientific research
• strategic monitoring

The Government has therefore rejected the idea that space should remain merely an extension of the Luftflotte.

It now possesses its own specialized service.

The first orbital deployment makes that distinction physical rather than administrative.

THE FIRST WATCH ABOVE THE EARTH

A small ceremony was held aboard the station after completion of docking and transfer procedures.

The Imperial colors were displayed inside the military section of the installation.

The commanding officer transmitted confirmation that the detachment had assumed its assigned duties.

The message sent to ground command was deliberately brief:

Regarding the Joint Intervention in the Former Federation of Moraco

The Imperial Government of the Empire of the Crown of the Lauenburg Land announces that today, following direct consultations with the Government of The Atlanteans of Kiyosi, both states agreed to commence a coordinated military intervention in the territory of the former Federation of Moraco.

The decision follows the effective collapse of Moraco's central government, the disintegration of its national command structure and the continuing expansion of armed paramilitary organizations, terrorist networks, illegal smuggling groups and independent military formations throughout the country.

What remains of the former Federation no longer possesses a functioning central authority capable of guaranteeing the security of its population, borders, infrastructure or international economic installations.

The Governments of Lauenburg and Kiyosi have therefore concluded that continued inaction would allow the security situation to deteriorate further.

OBJECTIVES OF THE INTERVENTION

The joint intervention has four principal objectives:

• restoration of basic public security
• suppression of terrorist and armed paramilitary organizations
• disruption of large-scale illegal arms and goods trafficking
• protection of civilians and critical infrastructure

The operation will be conducted through clearly separated but coordinated operational sectors.

KIYOSI OPERATIONAL SECTOR

The Atlanteans of Kiyosi possess substantial economic and strategic infrastructure within the former Federation of Moraco, including mining installations and three major dams.

Kiyosi special forces will therefore assume responsibility for securing:

• Cape Town
• the surrounding Cape Town region
• Maputo
• the surrounding Maputo region
• the designated territory extending from Maputo to the agreed river boundary

Kiyosi forces will be responsible for securing population centers, critical infrastructure, transport routes and economic installations within their assigned sector.

LAUENBURG OPERATIONAL SECTOR

The Empire of the Crown of the Lauenburg Land will assume responsibility for the substantially larger remainder of the former Moracan territory.

The principal formation assigned to this mission will be the:

KRONEN-MARINEINFANTERIEKORPS

supported where necessary by other Imperial military, logistical, intelligence and security formations.

Imperial forces will be tasked with securing:

• major cities and settlements
• principal highways and railway corridors
• ports and logistical infrastructure
• former government facilities
• abandoned military installations
• industrial districts
• energy infrastructure
• strategic mining regions
• important transport and communications nodes

The scale of the Imperial operational sector is considerable.

It encompasses the overwhelming majority of the former Moracan state and will require simultaneous operations across an area comparable in size to the former Federation itself.

The Imperial General Staff therefore considers the intervention one of the largest stabilization deployments undertaken by the Crown in southern Africa.

RULES OF STABILIZATION

The Imperial Government emphasizes that the mission is directed against organized armed groups and criminal networks rather than the civilian population of former Moraco.

Groups that:

• cease hostile activity
• surrender their weapons
• accept the authority of the stabilization forces

will be processed under the regulations established for the operation.

Organizations continuing:

• terrorist attacks
• armed extortion
• illegal trafficking
• attacks against civilians
• attacks against Lauenburg or Kiyosi personnel

will be treated as hostile armed formations.

SECURING THE FORMER MORACAN ARSENAL

Particular attention will be given to abandoned Moracan military equipment.

Following the collapse of the former armed forces, numerous depots, bases and storage installations have been left without a reliable chain of command.

Imperial and Kiyosi forces will therefore secure military facilities wherever possible in order to prevent:

• heavy weapons from entering criminal hands
• military vehicles being seized by paramilitary groups
• ammunition depots being looted
• advanced equipment being transferred to terrorist organizations

The Kronensicherheitsdienst will continue its ongoing efforts to identify and recover Lauenburg-manufactured military equipment previously supplied to Moraco.

PROVISIONAL POST-WAR ADMINISTRATION

Following stabilization of their respective sectors, both governments intend to establish provisional civil administrations within the territories under their responsibility.

These administrations will assume responsibility for:

• restoration of municipal government
• re-establishment of professional police services
• reopening of courts and civil registries
• restoration of public utilities
• reconstruction of transport infrastructure
• regulation of customs and trade
• humanitarian coordination
• reopening of schools and medical facilities

The previous Moracan central administration has ceased to function.

The purpose of the provisional administrations will therefore be to ensure that the resulting political vacuum is replaced by functioning public authority rather than armed groups.

The final long-term constitutional status of the respective territories will be determined after stabilization.

COORDINATION WITH KIYOSI

The two governments have established clear geographical operational sectors and direct military communication mechanisms.

No Imperial formation is authorized to interfere with Kiyosi operations within the agreed Kiyosi sector.

The same principle applies to Kiyosi forces operating in relation to the Lauenburg sector.

The objective is to prevent competing foreign operations from creating another source of instability inside former Moraco.

Regarding the Signing of the Agreement on the Histarctisches Handelskontor M'Bala-Küste

The Imperial Government of the Empire of the Crown of the Lauenburg Land confirms that the agreement concerning the establishment and operation of the:

HISTARCTISCHES HANDELSKONTOR M'BALA-KÜSTE
Histarctican Trading Office of the M'Bala Coast

has been formally signed by the authorized representatives of the Empire and the Directorate of Histarctica.

The agreement was concluded following the recent diplomatic visit of the Histarctican delegation to Lauenburg and the economic consultations conducted between both governments.

The Handelskontor will serve as the principal permanent Histarctican commercial representation within the southern Imperial economic sphere.

Its purpose will be to facilitate:

• direct commercial exchange between Histarctican and Imperial enterprises
• coordination of cargo and maritime trade
• commercial representation of Histarctican companies
• import and export administration
• industrial contacts and investment
• logistical cooperation with Imperial ports and transport networks
• the development of new southern trade routes

The establishment of the Handelskontor creates a permanent institutional link between Histarctican commerce and the growing southern economy of the Empire.

A PERMANENT HISTARCTICAN COMMERCIAL PRESENCE

Unlike temporary trade missions or individual commercial contracts, the M'Bala-Küste office will function as a permanent point of economic coordination.

Histarctican commercial representatives will be able to work directly with:

• Imperial commercial authorities
• Dominion administrations
• port authorities
• shipping companies
• industrial enterprises
• resource and infrastructure companies

The Imperial Government considers the establishment of the Handelskontor particularly important for the expansion of trade between Histarctica and the southern territories of the Crown.

ECONOMIC STATUS

The Handelskontor will operate under the legal and commercial framework agreed between both governments.

It will not constitute sovereign Histarctican territory.

The facility and its personnel will remain subject to the agreed commercial regulations and the laws applicable within Imperial jurisdiction.

Its role is economic and representational.

Not political administration.

Not military basing.

Not extraterritorial government.

The Imperial Government has nevertheless agreed to provide the institutional guarantees necessary for the stable operation of the Handelskontor.

IMPLEMENTATION BEGINS

Following signature of the agreement, the responsible ministries and commercial authorities of both states may now begin practical implementation.

This includes:

• preparation of the trading office
• appointment of commercial representatives
• organization of customs and cargo procedures
• coordination with local port authorities
• registration of participating enterprises
• preparation of the first permanent trade routes

The Imperial Government regards the signing as another confirmation that relations between Lauenburg and Histarctica are developing not only politically and strategically, but economically.

HISTARCTICAN DELEGATION PROPOSES COMMERCIAL TRADING POST IN THE DUKEDOM OF KASIA
Diplomatic discussions open between Ameroind and Histarctica over proposed commercial concession

AMEROIANIN-ALEXANDRIA — IMPERIAL FOREIGN MINISTRY

The Imperial Government has confirmed that formal diplomatic discussions have begun between the Grand Empire of Ameroind and the Directorate of Histarctica on expanding commercial and economic relations between the two nations.

During the ongoing diplomatic engagement, representatives of Histarctica have expressed interest in establishing a minor commercial trading post within the Dukedom of Kasia.

The proposed facility would provide Histarctican merchants and commercial representatives with a permanent location from which to conduct trade, maintain commercial operations, facilitate the movement of goods, and expand economic exchange with the wider Imperial market.

The Imperial Government has confirmed that the proposal remains under diplomatic consideration.

No agreement establishing the proposed trading post has yet been concluded.

PROPOSED COMMERCIAL ARRANGEMENT

Under the preliminary framework currently under discussion, the proposed Histarctican trading post could include:

• Commercial and diplomatic offices;
• Warehousing and storage facilities;
• Merchant accommodations;
• Customs and trade facilities;
• Shipping and logistical infrastructure;
• Facilities for the storage and distribution of commercial goods;
• A permanent Histarctican commercial delegation.

The proposed arrangement would not constitute a transfer of sovereign territory.

Instead, any eventual agreement would establish a negotiated commercial concession under which Histarctica would receive defined rights to operate its facilities within the designated area. At the same time, the territory itself would remain under the sovereignty and jurisdiction of the Grand Empire of Ameroind.

All activities conducted within the concession would remain subject to the terms of the final agreement and applicable Imperial law.

TERMS UNDER DISCUSSION

The Imperial Foreign Ministry has indicated that several matters would require formal agreement before establishing any concession.

These include:

• Duration and renewal of the concession;
• Customs procedures and inspection requirements;
• Taxation, tariffs, and commercial duties;
• Security responsibilities;
• Permitted commercial activities;
• Regulation of Histarctican personnel and facilities;
  Transportation and maritime access;
• Imperial oversight and regulatory authority;
• Reciprocal commercial privileges for Ameroindian interests within Histarctica.

Imperial authorities have emphasized that any future arrangement would remain subject to Imperial sovereignty, applicable Imperial law, and the specific terms negotiated between the two governments.

EXPANDING AMEROIND–HISTARCTICAN RELATIONS

The proposal forms part of a broader diplomatic effort to expand economic and commercial relations between Ameroind and Histarctica.

Officials from both governments are expected to continue discussions concerning trade, investment, transportation, commercial representation, and potential long-term economic cooperation.

The Imperial Government has welcomed Histarctica's interest in establishing a greater commercial presence in the Dukedom of Kasia, while maintaining that any arrangement must respect Imperial sovereignty and clearly define rights and responsibilities for both parties.

IMPERIAL POSITION

The Imperial Foreign Ministry said it would consider the proposed trading post within the broader framework of Ameroind's commercial diplomacy and its efforts to encourage lawful foreign investment and international trade.

Imperial officials have further emphasized that commercial cooperation does not alter the sovereign status of the Dukedom of Kasia.

The Grand Empire of Ameroind and the Dukedom of Kasia act in concert on matters of foreign policy and commercial diplomacy, and any agreement concerning the Dukedom is concluded with the full authority of the Imperial Crown.

Any foreign commercial presence established within the Empire would operate by permission of the Imperial Government and under the authority of Imperial law.

Further announcements will be issued should the negotiations result in a finalized agreement.

UNTERNEHMEN SÜDORDNUNG ADVANCES INTO FORMER MORACO
Border Corridors Secured — Imperial Marines Reach Fraserburg — First Major Ambushes Reported at Victoria West and Beaufort West

The first major ground phase of Unternehmen Südordnung is now underway.

Following the earlier success of Unternehmen Erzwacht, Imperial forces already positioned around Lauenburg mining complexes inside former Moraco were ordered to expand outward and secure the principal approaches linking the mining districts with Kron-Dominium Albrechtsland.

Within the first stage of the intervention, Imperial units secured:

• principal border roads
• designated crossing points
• logistical transfer areas
• fuel and supply stations
• road junctions connecting the frontier with the interior

With these corridors under control, the movement of the main force could begin without serious disruption.

Columns of the Kronen-Marineinfanteriekorps, supported by logistical units, engineers and Luftflotte elements, crossed from Albrechtsland into the former Federation in large numbers.

The first days of the advance were characterized less by conventional combat than by disarmament.

THE OLD MORACAN STRUCTURES COLLAPSE WITHOUT A CENTRAL COMMAND

Across much of the northern intervention zone, Imperial Marines encountered isolated former Moracan police formations, local security units and remnants of military units that no longer possessed functioning communications with any national authority.

Most were ordered to:

• assemble at designated points
• surrender heavy weapons
• register personnel
• hand over military vehicles and stored ammunition

In the majority of cases, the process occurred without major fighting.

Former police personnel who complied with the disarmament orders were separated from irregular armed groups and registered for possible future review by the provisional administration.

Former soldiers were likewise processed individually rather than treated automatically as hostile combatants.

The Imperial Government has repeated that previous service in the Moracan state is not in itself considered grounds for prosecution.

The principal concern is whether individual formations continue armed activity after the collapse of lawful command.

FRASERBURG REACHED

The main Imperial advance has now reached the region of Fraserburg.

The town and surrounding communications routes were secured after local armed formations withdrew or surrendered their weapons.

Engineering teams immediately began inspections of:

• roads
• fuel facilities
• communications infrastructure
• water installations
• former police and military compounds

Fraserburg is expected to become an important logistical point for further movement toward the deeper interior.

The overall advance has remained considerably faster than originally anticipated.

That changed farther south.

FIRST SERIOUS FIGHTING AT VICTORIA WEST AND BEAUFORT WEST

Imperial forces encountered the first organized armed resistance in the regions of Victoria West and Beaufort West.

Several independent armed groups, believed to consist of former soldiers, irregular fighters and locally organized paramilitary elements, attempted to ambush Lauenburg military convoys moving along the principal transport routes.

The attacks relied primarily upon sudden fire from concealed positions followed by rapid withdrawal.

No attempt was made by the attackers to hold conventional defensive lines.

The response was immediate.

A squadron of Imperial combat helicopters was redirected to the affected sectors, allowing ground formations to regain control of the roads and force the attacking groups away from the principal communications routes.

Subsequent patrols discovered abandoned firing positions and temporary camps used by the irregular formations.

The exact number of hostile casualties has not been released.

Imperial losses are described by the Ministry of Defence as limited.

A DIFFERENT WAR BEGINS

The General Staff has warned that the encounters at Victoria West and Beaufort West may represent the pattern of resistance expected deeper inside former Moraco.

The Crown is unlikely to encounter a continuous front.

Instead, units may face:

• ambushes
• small mobile groups
• temporary roadblocks
• attacks upon isolated convoys
• attempts to disappear into rural areas following contact

The objective of the Marines therefore remains territorial control rather than pursuit of every irregular fighter across vast empty regions.

Major roads, towns, infrastructure and supply routes will be secured first.

Smaller armed networks will be dealt with as the stabilization zone expands.

THE AFRICAN FLEET ENTERS THE OPERATION

At sea, the Imperial African Fleet has begun enforcing maritime control along the Lauenburg sector of the former Moracan coastline.

Naval forces are conducting systematic interdiction of vessels identified as transporting armed groups, military equipment or unauthorized war materiel from former Moracan ports.

Selected coastal military installations and abandoned naval facilities have also been engaged where they continued to present a security threat.

Several missile destroyers have taken station near major ports inside the Imperial operational sector.

Their role includes:

• control of maritime approaches
• protection of Imperial shipping
• observation of port traffic
• support for Marine operations ashore
• prevention of military equipment leaving the intervention zone by sea

The Navy has emphasized that ordinary civilian shipping may continue once inspected and cleared.

The objective is not to close the coast.

It is to prevent former Moraco's military collapse from becoming an international weapons market.

While the armed forces are again active in southern Africa, daily life throughout most of the Empire continues to move steadily away from the emergency conditions that characterized the previous wars.

In the homeland and Dominions, attention is increasingly shifting toward reconstruction, infrastructure, employment, housing and the ordinary functioning of an Empire that has expanded rapidly in only a short period.

NEU-TOLVAD AFTER RECONSTRUCTION

Kron-Dominium Neu-Tolvad continues its transition into ordinary Dominion administration.

With the principal reconstruction programme completed, most major transport links are now functioning normally.

The government in Kronenstadt am Awatscha reports increasing civilian traffic on the rebuilt railway system and a significant recovery in commercial port activity.

The newly established Dominion administration is expanding outside the capital.

Permanent offices are now operating in the principal regional centers.

The transition away from military administration continues.

Routine civil matters are increasingly handled by:

• Dominion officials
• municipal administrations
• civil courts
• professional police services

rather than Imperial military units.

The Ministry for Colonial Order and Integration considers the process one of the most important tests of the Crown's long-term overseas administrative system.

VETERANS RETURN TO CIVILIAN LIFE

Thousands of servicemen involved in Der Eisenwolfkrieg and subsequent overseas missions have now completed their first extended periods of post-deployment leave.

THE FIRST ORBITAL GARRISON SETTLES IN

The first detachment of the Königliche Raumstreitkräfte aboard the Imperial space station has completed its initial adaptation period.

THE LANDRAT RETURNS TO DOMESTIC WARFARE
Moraco Intervention, Veterans' Funding and Overseas Spending Dominate an Increasingly Divided Chamber

The political center of gravity has returned firmly to the Königlicher Landrat.

The five parties represented in the chamber remain:

• Nationale Erneuerungsfront (NEF) — 41 seats
• Königstreue Volkspartei (KVP) — 40 seats
• Sozialständische Arbeiterbewegung (SAB) — 20 seats
• Liberale Fortschrittspartei (LFP) — 12 seats
• Regionalistische Liga der Länder (RLL) — 7 seats

The governing coalition of the NEF and SAB therefore continues to possess:

61 OF 120 SEATS

The smallest possible parliamentary majority.

Nothing makes parliamentary procedure quite as exciting as arithmetic.

MORACO DOMINATES THE CHAMBER

Unternehmen Südordnung has immediately become the principal subject of parliamentary debate.

Prime Minister Dr. Konrad von Rabenfels has defended the intervention as necessary to prevent the complete collapse of security south of Albrechtsland.

The NEF has largely supported the Government's position.

Its deputies argue that allowing former Moraco to fragment indefinitely would create:

• terrorist safe havens
• smuggling routes
• uncontrolled weapons markets
• direct security risks for Albrechtsland

The SAB supports the stabilization mission but has demanded that the Government establish clear funding limits for any permanent post-war administration.

Several SAB deputies have also insisted that future expenditure cannot come at the expense of veterans' benefits and domestic social programmes.

KVP DEMANDS PARLIAMENTARY CONTROL

The Königstreue Volkspartei has not opposed the military intervention itself.

Its criticism is directed primarily toward the manner in which the Government intends to administer the territory afterward.

KVP deputies are demanding regular Landrat reporting concerning:

• the cost of Unternehmen Südordnung
• the size of the future provisional administration
• long-term military commitments
• the territorial arrangements negotiated with Kiyosi

Second Deputy of the Landrat Freiherr Friedrich von Bredow has become one of the strongest advocates of formal parliamentary oversight.

He has argued that an emergency intervention and permanent territorial government are constitutionally different matters and should not be treated as the same decision.

LFP WANTS NUMBERS

The Liberale Fortschrittspartei continues to concentrate upon financial transparency.

Its parliamentary group has requested:

• a preliminary cost estimate for the Moraco operation
• independent auditing of overseas reconstruction contracts
• greater Landrat access to emergency appropriations
• regular reporting on military procurement

The Government has agreed to provide additional classified briefings to designated parliamentary committees but has rejected demands for publication of detailed operational expenditure while the intervention is active.

RLL ASKS THE SAME QUESTION AGAIN

The Regionalistische Liga der Länder has again questioned whether the Crown's expanding overseas commitments are receiving disproportionate investment compared with the historic homeland Länder.

RLL deputies have pointed to simultaneous expenditure in:

• Neu-Tolvad
• Ōshū
• Hokkaido
• southern Africa
• the space programme

while local governments inside the homeland continue requesting funds for railway modernization, hospitals and municipal infrastructure.

The Government's response has been that overseas infrastructure contributes directly to the economy of the entire Empire.

The RLL response has been that this is easier to say from Lauenburg than from a town waiting three years for a new bridge.

The debate remains unresolved.

SAB PUSHES THE VETERANS BILL

The Sozialständische Arbeiterbewegung has introduced proposals to expand post-war support for military veterans.

The package under discussion includes increased funding for:

• medical rehabilitation
• housing assistance
• technical education
• employment programmes
• support for families of personnel killed during Der Eisenwolfkrieg

The NEF leadership has indicated general support.

The principal disagreement concerns cost.

With only 61 coalition votes available, neither partner has much room for internal rebellion.

LANDRAT LEADERSHIP

The chamber continues to be chaired by:

Landratspräsident Professor Dr. Hartwig von Lichtenau (NEF)

assisted by:

First Deputy Gerhard Möllendorf (SAB)

and

Second Deputy Freiherr Friedrich von Bredow (KVP).

Von Lichtenau has repeatedly reminded deputies that shouting does not create additional speaking time.

The advice has not noticeably reduced the shouting.

THE PALACE AND THE GOVERNMENT

Relations between the Government and Emperor Albrecht IV remain formally stable.

The Crown has approved the current Moraco intervention, while the Government continues to operate within the existing constitutional framework.

However, debates concerning emergency authority, the KSD and the division of power between elected government and institutions directly connected to the Crown continue beneath the surface.

No evidence has emerged supporting rumors of an imminent constitutional confrontation.

The subject nevertheless refuses to disappear from political discussion.

Apocalypse Ejects Rynsha From MTRAP

After careful deliberation, the Apocalyptian government has made the decision to eject Rynsha from The Military, Trade and Research Assistance Pact, effective immediately.

Rynsha was originally offered MTRAP membership during the events which took place in the Baltic Sea, with the Empire of the Crown of the Lauenburg Land being firmly against Rynsha's attempts to annex Stockholm. With Lauenburg threatening possible military action, the Apocalypse offered MTRAP membership to Rynsha in the hopes it could be used as a bargaining chip in their negotiations with Lauenburg.

Instead, Rynsha took advantage of the protection the Pact offered and began pressing for more territorial expansion, something that Lauenburg was not happy with, but could do nothing about since taking action against Rynsha now would guarantee war with the rest of the Pact. And so Lauenburg backed down, but since Rynsha had joined at the invitation of the Apocalypse, relations between us and Lauenburg became strained, with Apocalyptian membership of the Nordmeer-Handelsgemeinschaft even coming under threat (though it was ultimately kept).

With this in mind, the Apocalypse has made this decision in an effort to mend relations with Lauenburg, as we would rather upset Rynsha than lose a powerful military, economic and trading partner.

Histarctican Delegation Visits Geotopia

Herald Dawson has formally welcomed the Histarctican Director of Foreign Affairs, Hiassa Verkos, and Director of Commerce and Industry, Hrodwin Sigibert, to Geotopia. Under heavy security provided by the Apocalyptian military, the Herald took the visitors on a tour of the city, showing them the various manufacturing districts and military installations, as well as the recently rebuilt Capitol Building, where a wreath was placed at the memorial to those who died in the fire. This culminated in a meeting which took place behind closed doors in the Heralds office, the main topic of discussion being the joint Histarctican-Apocalyptian occupation of the Suez Canal.

It was ultimately agreed that both Histarctica and the Apocalypse would work together to ensure the safety of trade passing through the Suez Canal, with the Apocalypse agreeing to conduct extra anti-piracy patrols in the area.

The meeting ended on a positive note, with the Herald expressing interest in visiting Histarctica at some point in the future.

Howard Stone Survives INF Leadership Challenge

After their crushing defeat in the last election, where they lost 27 of their 29 seats in Parliament, party leader Howard Stone said, "This defeat has not changed my convictions, it has merely strengthened them. Government should not be reduced to a popularity contest held every few years; nations require leadership, direction and strength."

His actions during the election campaign made national headlines, particularly during the last debate before the election, where he was ultimately removed from proceedings; an image of him yelling at reporters outside the Capitol while being led to a waiting car by a pair of commandos soon went viral.

After the election, members were quick to realise that Stone's behaviour during the debate and his increasingly explicit make me a dictator platform were the primary reasons the party lost so hard. As a result, nearly two-hundred supporters handed in their membership cards, party donations dropped by 83%, and the two INF MPs who survived have become paranoid about losing their seats even before the next election.

And so up stepped Leon Riley, who challenged Howard Stone for overall leadership of the INF. He pledged that if he became party leader, he would not seek to become a dictator, and instead work on improving the party's image in preparation for the next election. Despite his good intentions, however, Howard Stone's loyalists were still too many; he lost the leadership contest, only gaining 17% of the votes.

As such, the INF has effectively become a tiny but extremely loud fringe party with just two seats to its name. Howard Stone has sworn to keep on fighting, though - in response to rumours circulating around his more extreme followers - ruled out an armed insurrection against Herald Dawson and the ruling National Unity Party, saying, "There will be no violence. There will be no uprising. Our enemies would like nothing more than to portray us as terrorists and destroy this movement. We will give them no such opportunity."

Herald Dawson, for the most part, now regards Stone and the INF as an irritation, rather than a serious threat. After hearing Stone's comment about his defeat, Herald Dawson had the perfect response:

"Mr Stone asked the people of the Apocalypse to surrender their right to choose their leaders. They've given him their answer."
