Current status: "Honing one’s abilities through rivalry… no, through strife, to attain the best answer. Repeating that, and evolving into a much more wonderful being. I think that’s something to be affirmed. No—that’s a natural desire all living beings hold. But it all makes me sad. If stagnation equals death, and it’s all living being’s fate to bite at each other and kill… Then I want to escape from that..."

The Gospel for tomorrow, the Solemnity of Christ the King, is Mt 25:31-46, known as either The Sheep and The Goats or The Judgment of the Nations. This immediately follows the Parable of the Talents, and immediate precedes St. Matthew's account of the Passion and Resurrection of Our Lord Jesus Christ.

The Gospel Reading concludes the Olivet Discourse with a portrayal of how Final Judgment will be passed. On one hand: the virtuous sheep who live Christ's teachings and tend to the least among us. On the other: the goats who deny the least among us and thus, deny that the image of Christ is behind them. For what we do (or fail to do) to the least of our brethren, we do (or fail to do) to Our Lord Jesus Christ, and come the Final Judgment, we will face Him as the King.

Tomorrow is the Solemnity of Our Lord Jesus Christ, King of the Universe, commonly shortened to the Solemnity of Christ the King, per the current General Roman Calendar, which underwent revisions dating back to 1969 under St. Paul VI (Mysterii Paschalis). The Liturgical Year starts on Advent, a time that begins four Sundays before December 25th--the Feast of the Nativity of Our Lord Jesus Christ--with the Sunday before Advent the final Sunday of a given liturgical year.
Tomorrow's Gospel reminds us that whatever we do to the least of our brethren, we do to Our Lord; come Final Judgment, we will face Him as King of the Universe.

"If to Christ our Lord is given all power in heaven and on earth; if all men, purchased by his precious blood, are by a new right subjected to his dominion; if this power embraces all men, it must be clear that not one of our faculties is exempt from his empire. He must reign in our minds, which should assent with perfect submission and firm belief to revealed truths and to the doctrines of Christ. He must reign in our wills, which should obey the laws and precepts of God. He must reign in our hearts, which should spurn natural desires and love God above all things, and cleave to him alone. He must reign in our bodies and in our members, which should serve as instruments for the interior sanctification of our souls, or to use the words of the Apostle Paul, as instruments of justice unto God."
- Quas Primas, 1925

In 1925 the Holy Father, Pius XI, formally included the Solemnity of Our Lord Jesus Christ the King with the encyclical Quas Primas. Originally scheduled for the last Sunday of October, the Sunday before the Feast of All Saints, in the 1969 motu proprio Mysterii Paschalis, St. Paul VI amended the title to the Solemnity of Our Lord Jesus Christ, King of the Universe, and moved the date to the last Sunday before Advent. This is important when you consider that the Extraordinary Form of the Roman Rite (better known as the Traditional Latin Mass) uses the 1960 General Roman Calendar while the Ordinary Form of the Roman Rite (the form commonly used today) uses the current General Roman Calendar, which was last revised in 1969.

The following schedule for the Cathedral is as follows:

  • Visayan - 6:00 AM, 3:00 PM
  • Spanish - 7:30 AM, 4:30 PM (Pontifical Mass presided by me)
  • English - 9:00 AM, 6:00 PM
  • Mandarin - 10:30 AM
  • Traditional Latin (NB: Under the 1962 Missal, which uses the 1960 GRC, Sollemnitas Domini Nostri Iesu Christi Universorum Regis was celebrated on October 25th) - 12:00 NN

All Masses will be livestreamed on the official WhoTube Channel of the Archdiocese of Tagbilaran for those who cannot attend; as always, the Cathedral is limited to 25% of full capacity in accordance with measures to keep COVID-19 out of the Confederation.

Well my skepticism with cryptocurrency comes from me as a law enforcement officer. My field is financial crimes to be exact, so I see a lot of fraud, money laundering and all kinds of things that have to deal with money. High crimes from embezzlement to petty crimes such as robbing a little old lady's bank account. Occasionally my work overlaps with far more grievous crimes. The good thing about hard currency is, it's traceable, there's always a paper trail for us to follow for those what want to break the law. When you start going into speculative fields of cryptocurrency, it gets far more complex to trace. At least, that's my take on it. It really bums me to see people lose a lot of money like that or and that bums me out. Not to mention how do you build a case. It's a lot easier to convince a judge with a large stack of hard money to show as an exhibit compared to a bunch of charts. Granted I'm an Inspector, not a Prosecutor. I know it's not impossible, the good people in the Bureau's cyber crime division work long and hard as well. I don't know did that make sense or did I ramble too much?

@Charme Rosenberg Actually, it's not too complex. It's well known that most cryptocurrencies use blockchain to store transactions. From this, a user's public key/address is posted in every block created, and you can track that user by that. And with more information revealed, it'll be more than enough to indict a malignant user. Though it'll take time to link a public key to a particular account. Furthermore, true anonymity has never been attained for all cryptocurrencies. Even with Bitcoin's claim of affording such, addresses if not discarded after use can expose a particular user.

Who knows maybe in a few years the two parties will simply merge but I don't know there are those in the NLP who are way hard core traditionalist compared to the large majority of the UIP who are fairly progressive that I'd say they'd quickly splinter off. We're seeing that with the hawks out there trying to form a more nationalistic and militaristic party. Personally glad two people of the opposite sides can find true love. Well the NLP has traditionally been a more "conservative party" in the UIS. The UIP has tended to be more about quick and rapid change the NLP is about slow change or little change. But these days the alignments have shifted. This election saw a third party gain a seat, so I wonder if it'll be enough to really shake the two parties up or they'll see it as a blip for the six years to come.

@Milan Hjardavic

As I told Miss Kladnov, Our Liberal Party is more conservative in our country so it's probably a vastly different style from your own.

Reminder to my brethren, on this Sunday we celebrate Christ the King. Christ who is sovereign over all things. King now, then, forever and always. Even in a position like mine, I am nothing.

@Toka Mori @Iuna S. As Iuna (along with various analysts, Lykke Hedegaard among them) already said, the core tenets of both NLP and UIP are quite close to one another, their respective leaders even as close as it's humanly possible to get - but then, a few differences exist, and there might be hardliner factions from either party which would definitely splinter off, should the two parties ever decide to pull a MUP. Even in that event, I would probably expect the split-off parties to remain minority/fringe parties - althought even that may change next election, depending on what happens until then.
It surprised me a bit, that Setsuko Fujihara made it into Congress while Tsugihara and Ulkiane did not. I'm wondering whether it was the AHSCA-CP's platform that seemed appealing to some Aurora-Islanders' voters, or whether it rather was the former two candidates' personalities that wasn't sitting well with the majority ... then again, it might be an Aurora thing, which may not necessarily apply in other states. Only the Gods know. (Or the pollsters. Either works.)

Since Lillorainen's geography is currently being overhauled a 'tiny' bit, most information on it posted before December 12, 2018, is not entirely reliable anymore. Until there's a new, proper factfile, everything you might need to know can be found here. Thank you. #RetconOfDoom (Very late update, 2020/08/30 - it's still going on ...)

Indeed the Duchess still holds a lot of authority in the land so even with the new members of Congress, I don't expect a lot to change. It's odd the rulers of Truce Island are so militaristic but the people there are generally quite, how the say, chill?

Talked with a few of my own fellow mikos from Aurora, they all have their ideas. Neither Ulkiane or Tsugihara are actual natives. Well Tsugihara I think was born on Aurora but she's lived on Corona most of her life. Mixed marriages ya know. So some are saying it was the fear of outsiders. Well that's their take on it. I think there's just a lot of uncertainly and unease going around now. Some are starting to say the Duchess is becoming to appeasing to foreign powers. Astares Amauricanum in particular has been grabbing up a lot of land nearby which is starting to dredge up bad memories of the 90s for some. The days leading up to the war. Some folks aren't thrilled that The Sultanate of Kyreneia carved out their own space on Aurora for a military base. But I want to stress SOME. I think most people are fine with them there. I am too, though I'm from Animalpolis and working abroad. Well what happens happens. We'll see. The sun will continue to rise and set tomorrow as it always does.

Surprised to see some of my patients' parents being animated when it comes to the elections today. I don't blame them; I had my ballot mailed in yesterday, and right now we're all looking forward to the start of the count. Ain't that right, @Reuben Solomon?
