Greetings All. While I have now joined as a running mate to Valentine Z - It is no longer possible to directly cast votes for this nation. As such, I wanted to bring a little Forum 7 and NS Sports flair to the Election Headquarters. For the preliminary round, the Focus here is their FLAG! Like some of the fun and games in Forum 7, there will be three Rounds of Voting and 30 nations using the Forum poll function in head to head matchups based solely on who has the better looking flag until we are down to 16 nations. Those 16 nations will compete in a traditional NS Sports style Playoff Bracket to determine a final champion! While real NS Sports events are done using "Scorination" systems that use input of Ranking, Random + RP Bonus to determine an individual nations scoreline, for this we'll modify the input and speed up the results generation a bit just to enjoy the fun of doing it during the April Fools event.

And with that, we have our final 16 competitors in the WA General Secretary Election Competition. The preliminary round action took a page straight out of Forum 7. Rate the above nations flag / Vote on the best flag. The 16 Nations selected from the preliminary round will advance to the "NS Sports" themed round of the competition.

⚽ NS SPORTS :: WA CUP 2020 ⚽

The 16 Nations will be randomly drawn into a 16 team bracket with 8 matches. The winners of the Round of 16 will advance to the Quarter-Finals, then the Semi-Finals until the Final match to crown a champion. For a general understanding of how NS Sports works, take a look here:

Thats it in a nutshell! Over the past 16 years, dedicated NS Sporters have created, refined and attempt to perfect the art of generating sports results based off a series of inputs, general the Rank of a nation and a bonus based on the quality of the RP contributions of that nation to the thread. For this competition, we will assume that the rank of a nation is its finishing order in the 2nd Round of the WA Elections and its RP Bonus will begin with the number of posts in the candidates thread plus any contributions they make in this thread to the competition. Of course, this is going to give some advantage to the nations at the top of the pylon - but thats where the final factor comes in. Random!. There is just enough random involved to ensure that results are not always predictable, and in a single elimination knockout competition, anyone can emerge victorious!

The Results from Round #1 are in!! A total of 70 votes were cast though not evenly spread throughout the five matchups!

Round #2 begins now and contains the Top 10 Running Mates from the current standings!

There is of course the curious case of the Running-mate who is not aligned with Caelapes yet is sporting an "I vote for Caelapes flag"!

And here are the results from Round #2! Fewer votes but biggers gaps as four of the five matchups were "blowouts" with a runaway victor. It was a tough decision for voters among ShrewLlamaLand and The Stalker, however!

Finally, lets take a look at the matchups for Round 3, the last Round of voting before we cut to the Top 16 for the final bracket. Nations were selected from amongst the remaining candidates and running mates at quasi-random to make up the final 10 participants.

Eskiiy is a former international midfielder for the Tropics of Vilita. Many believe that Eskiiy's talent really came by way of a different sporting hotbed, however, as the player can trace lineage back through Lake Bekk and Starblaydia. Eskiiy's first taste of success was as a member of the Vilita & Turori regional squad that won the 42nd AOCAF Championship. The young Eskiiy broke into the Vilitan lineup during World Cup 68 and started in the World Cup Final, scoring the goal that changed the momentum of the game in the Jungle Cats favor and etched the Vilita National Team in the history books as the team with the longest time period between two World Cup titles. Playing Style

Goals: Lukas Yoshimura (45'+1'), Thëodoro Silva (70')

Description: The Giovannilandian team was about to play their first international game in history. A bit scared, but confident, the eleven players ended up with a bad start - a player from The New North Republic saw their way through the Giovannilandian defense and scored an early goal. The Giovannilandian team did not give up though, and at the additional time of the 1st half, Lukas Yoshimura scored a goal and drew the game. The second half saw lots of attacking from both sides, but at 70', the Giovannilandian team scored another goal by Thëodoro Silva, and 20 minutes after, won the game. This was the first international game and first victory too for the Giovannilandians, and the team is excited for the next game against ShrewLlamaLand.

Goals: Ulysses François (3'), Thëodoro Silva (19'), Höracio Albrecht (40'), Josef Camargo (65')

Description: With a win in the round of 16, the Giovannilandian team headed over to the quarter finals. Just 3 minutes in, left midfielder Ulysses François scored the first goal of the match. The team's attack stood strong, and scored 2 more goals on the first half, by Thëodoro Silva and Höracio Albrecht. On the 2nd half not much happened since the Giovannilandians had a good chance of winning, but still, Josef Camargo scored the 4th goal for Giovanniland. Not much after, the team of ShrewLlamaLand scored a goal, but it was not enough to win. The Giovannilandians will now play against Corindia.
