Her parents were killed in a wave of calamity where demons nearly wiped out her village. Just as the villagers were about to rebuild, soldiers from the kingdom of Melromarc ravaged the settlement and slaughtered all adult demi-humans. The children (including Raphtalia) were later sold into slavery.

Raphtalia was later purchased by the Shield Hero Naofumi. She was treated not as a slave but as a companion and served as the Shield Hero’s offense in battle. After killing her first animal, she vowed to be Naofumi’s sword and take vengeance upon the demons that killed her parents.

The tea helps, but I think it's the energy that all the supporters have! It really isn't just a me thing as there are a lot of people behind the scenes helping.
