Only a handful of minutes removed, lets congratulate our winners of round one, Trans Anarcho-Communist Lesbian Catgirls with 18.2% of the vote beating around 260 opponents.

With round one passed, these 25 nations placed. This gives them an inherit advantage to poach up support from those who can’t back their initial selection.

Trans Anarcho-Communist Lesbian Catgirls
“OwO”

Caelapes
“Ego vero custos mei fratris sum.”

Kuriko
“Kuriko- SC Author, Defender, And National Sovereignty”

McMasterdonia
“Continuity with change!”

The Bigtopia
“Bunnies and Bazookas for all!”

Jocospor
“No more deceit. No more Elite.”

Valentine Z
“The World of Peace, Harmony, and Cats! #Valentine2020”

Wymondham
“Vote Wym today for a distinctly average tomorrow”

Racoda
“End the WA corruption!”

Giovanniland
“Say no to the marsupials and Vote for Giovanniland!”

9003
“They're taking the friends to Gold town”

Ecclestia
“The Sensible Choice for WA Secretary-General...”

The Salaxalans
“Two potatoes for all!”

Dekks
“I'm sorry, World Assembly”

Anarchitaria
“Revolt, Action, Insurrection!”

Auralia
“Amor sequitur cognitionem.”

Bohseon
“Let's give TNP a nuclear apocalypse!”

Aminist Uganda
“VOTE IDI 4 SECRETARY GENERAL”

Amsterwald
“Vote Amster to end unneeded WA telegrams!”

Treadwellia
“Mmph mmph!”

Aexnidaral
“We're keepers of the peace, not soldiers.”

Atlantian Oceania
“http://www.atlantianoceania.com”

The Stalker
“I am the daringest devil you've ever met, love.”

Pencil Sharpeners 2
“Vote PS2 for Free Pandas!”

Castle Federation
“Wonder and Faith in God form every heart and nation.”

In addition, these nations performed on a similar level to those in the lower end of the top 25, and need to review their options in the remaining rounds...
Castle Federation, Lurusitania, Kakazagistan, Kaystein, Todd McCloud, NewTexas, Eura, Ofiussia, The American Empire, and The Traditional States

As for the results, Trans Anarcho-Communist Lesbian Catgirls captured the top slot with 18% of the vote. It seems like a lot, but isn't much if the other candidates begin dropping out. Like in most other hours, the top five held to their ranks firmly, while other strong challengers such as Jocospor and Valentine Z helpd round the field. The nations Wymondham, Racoda, Giovanniland, 9003, Ecclestia, Anarchitaria, Bohseon, Amsterwald, Atlantian Oceania all had spots in early sections of the ballot. This allowed them get casual voters when matched with weaker nations. With an improved field, they will put to the test again. The Salaxalans, Dekks, Auralia, Aminist Uganda, The Stalker, Pencil Sharpeners 2, Castle Federation are candidate who started later on the day had to climb up the ladder. They all did so and are welcomed into the starting pool along with any of the top candidates who did the same.

For nations who just missed the cut, they will have a second chance to compete by re registering, others can do the same. Perhaps an invisible candidates will rise, or brand new option. The mid tier could make its case and perhaps take many votes. Last time around Caelapes won all three preliminary ballots with progressively less and less votes. Can our initial winners do the opposite?

Edit: With the action it's hard to finish a post. These are the results of the poll. You think Bazookas/Catgirls/Cards etc. are the most powerful voting bloc followed by leftists, Raiders, Forums Poster & Anti-WA voters, and nihilists. None of you believed defenders had any role in this campaign.

Leftists: 13 (22%)
Anti-WA voters: 4 (7%)
Bazookas/Catgirls/Cards: 22 (37%)
Fourm posters: 4 (7%)
Raiders: 7 (12%)
Defenders: 0 (0%)
Nihilists: 3 (5%)
Other: 6 (10%)

Our new question is simple, "What top five nation from the first round should exit the race?"

Trans Anarcho-Communist Lesbian Catgirls
Caelapes
Kuriko
McMasterdonia
The Bigtopia

The lack of major respect for the Potato Bloc is a cruel revision of our historical success in the Original Sec-Gen Election, and our strong grassroots performance in this round.

The Salaxalans campaign started with slow grassroots effort last year two, but as our spuds rooted among the people they began to inspire the support that was needed for our base to flourish.

Those Bigtopians say the darnedest things though. I don't think we can trust them, as good Maxtopian world inhabitants.

Any nation which believes they can win should continue to try, there's two rounds of action left. However, with the seeming underperformance of major contenders from four years ago, perhaps there needs to be some serious soul searching the the potato's hearts.

The cult of Garfield has universal appeal, while Dekks wasn't one of the top tier candidates I've still proven myself more than electorally viable. And with a diverse Garfield loving coalition we can win this race!

The conclusion of round 1 is that Bigtopia will win... but only if you vote for him.

that's why I am voting for him. Don't you think it's nice when people win? They are happy and I stand for happiness, shame on you people who do sad things ;(

The incumbent General Secretary sits in fifth. Is it turnout, an early snafu, or a real issue? That's the question on many. Now in their defense there was a time when they were out of the top two ranks before. That also was early in the prior round. However, with increased scrutiny being given to candidates, this may be a real klaxon activator.

At the same time, all other top five nations sans McMasterdonia, who pulled voters late last time, are doing well. Candidates like Giovanniland, Dekks, Atlantian Oceania and Aminist Uganda have moved up a few spaces since a few hours ago. Racoda has done the worst, they’ve gone from being a leader early, to joint bottom in the top 25.

Kaystein, Ofiussia, and Penguin Dictators are candidates from out the last rounds top 25 who are off to initials leads against other small campaigns. There’s a gap forming outside the top five, sixth and sevenths are trading hands between The Salaxalans and Valentine Z, the candidates need to push to stop the gap before it gets too bad. Other candidates are doing well enough, but need to get more votes like any other nation. It's still early in the process, so no solid narrative can be made just yet.

I was a wee bit surprised to see how strong the Forum 7 candidate was in the previous Round, and I'm looking forward to seeing their performance in this round.

Many people have always underestimated Forum 7; and well, Valentine Z has proved them wrong. Speaking from the McMasterdonia fictional campaign team HQ: Good luck, Team Forum 7 and Valentine Z! God Bless you, God Bless us, God Bless everyone, and may God Bless NationStates Image

Caelapes has pulled up past The Bigtopia by a hair and has slid into 4th place. Kuriko is the main challenger to the Catgirls with 81, 82, 82.5, 83% as many votes and climbing. Both have passed 200 votes before any others. Valentine Z remains at half of the votes of fifth place, but they’re still decently ahead of Jocospor, The Salaxalans, and others. Wild shifts are still possible within the next 20 hours, but most major candidates need to start thinking “If I’m not winning, who can?”

Minor candidates need to also see themselves at a crossroads. Will they make alliances and move their supporters around? Or will they risk having no support in the general and fight on. The rewards could be grand, if any can cash in.

AO partners with NS Sports Team to put your name on a Race C

Postby Atlantian Oceania » Wed Apr 01, 2020 8:57 pm

Atlantian Oceania partners with NS Sports Team to put YOUR NATION on a Race Car!

When the checkered flag flew at the Hapilopper Raceway's NationStates Stock Car Racing Association (NSSCRA) event, most of the teams packed up their equipment and moved on to the next circuit on the tour in Terre Septentrionale. One team stayed behind, however, as Team Tropicorp rolled out their backup car for an on-track photo session at the Atlantian Oceania based track. Typically adorned with the #42 and sponsorship featuring the Tropicorp Sifaka Racing Tyre, the car had been re-wrapped in new colors featuring the number 20 and the campaign poster for the Atlantian Oceania campaign for World Assembly Secretary General.

After initially going head to head with 2016 World Assembly General Election 7th place finishing nation Eura, the two sports-focused candidates merged into a single campaign using the poundsmash #EUR-AO on the popular Turorian social messaging platform twii.tur. Now, looking to get the word out to further support for NationStates Sports primary election candidate, the Atlantian Oceania team are looking to leverage the sporting environments that first helped them rise to prominence on the World Stage.

The Atlantian Oceania campaign is hoping to use their entry into the NSSCRA as a platform to both advertise their candidacy for World Assembly Secretary General as well as to use their race car as a tool to reward those Nations that cast their ballot in support of Atlantian Oceania in the World Assembly. As a way to welcoming all to the NS Sports Community, The Atlantian Oceania campaign is offering that any nation that casts their ballot in support of Atlantian Oceania during Round 2 of the World Assembly elections will get their name on the #20 racing car for the upcoming NSSCRA race weekend. It is believed that many nations who have been looking to see their name in lights have already jumped on the opportunity while various corporations throughout Atlantian Oceania have lined up to sweeten the deal with low-margin supply contracts to other nations considering throwing their support behind the Atlantian Oceania Campaign for World Assemb...

As an observer, I'm looking at Kuriko right now. Wow. Imagine Kuriko allying up with Valentine Z and at least another one of the middle-sized candidates? This fictional election is getting really interesting, I must say. Wow. O.O

Edit: The currently leading candidate's getting so much support from NSG LGBT and left community, a portion of NS RP and Raids at least two Pacific coalition etc. on top of that I could see a couple of Mods support there thrown in between their momentums building fast and will only go up and up -- if Kuriko is looking to ally with someone to take the number one spot, she better do it real fast before it's too late Wow. O.O

Edit2: Well well look what's happening! They have the Running Mate option now! Yay!
