The Bigtopia/Stalker ticket is in fifth right now, while The Valentine Z/Atlantian Oceania is just six votes out of the top five.

With the action heating up, one candidate sat down with us at The Boot’s Leg for an exclusive interview. Jocospor is running around fifth place, with a small lead over his main rivals. In our sit-down discussion, Jocospor talked about the criticism lobbied against him, and about other candidates.

Q: What is it about the elite that makes them so unhappy with you?

A: They don't include the little guy. I wasn't always a founder. I was just a WA nation. I felt left out, and I know a lot of other players did and still do. The WA needs strive for equality of opportunity, and its current toxic culture perpetuated by its WA Elite doesn't do that.


Q: Many candidates are critical of the "elite." or represent interests outside of the mainstream. The vitriol doesn't on the same level for these nations. Why are critics more interested in you? Are you a greater threat?


A: I’ve made mistakes in the past, mostly from my early days (c. 2016-2017 when CCD rose to prominence). Players like to capitalise on that, because they think it'll take me down.
But for my whole NationStates career, I've only ever preached about how broken the WA is. And voters know that. They know I'm genuine. They know I'm passionate. They know I've sacrificed my reputation to stand against the Elite.
The other candidates are all members of the Elite (with the exception of Bigtopia, though he is being backed by various NSGP factions, sadly). They can be critical all they like, but someone like Kuriko - well, that's the definition of the Elite right there.

"If elected, the SC will no longer be just for Game Players! I will open it up to all, role players, sports players, card guild/infrastructure players, and any other quirks that are out there. The SC will rise in prominence and become much more active!"
1) This changed last night. Which either suggests Kuriko is copying me, or is scared of my campaign because she knows there's truth to it. This NEEDS to be highlighted.
2) The final sentence still implies that Kuriko is attempting to establish some kind of Elite, which is completely contradictory to the preceding sentence.
The WA is an institution for MEMBER NATIONS, not for FACTIONS or CHAMBERS.
It should also be pointed out that Auralia, a latecomer to the race, is championing a very similar argument to my own.
