Our success was two-pronged:

- Buy low, sell high
- coordinate these buying and selling periods. At times we crashed the market. This was especially true early on, though became more difficult to do once others caught on. I suspect the formula was tweaked, too.

That's really it. Little bit of luck and familiarizing one's self with the fluctuations helps too.

There was some debate about whether the ByteCoin prices were market-driven or just some dumb random algorithm. I can now confirm that a true market mechanism was always the only acceptable option for ByteCoin, up until about March 31 when I realized how hard that was to code. So it was a dumb random algorithm. Except for Titanfall, which was a plan by some big ByteCoin players to try to crash the market by all selling at once, which I caught wind of and simulated to freak them out. That was fun.

We never crashed the market.

I saw that. But the events from last night had to be an extremely coincidental, perhaps too coincidental for me to believe at this time. We sold, the market dipped. We bought, the market grew. We noticed a change some time early last night.

Correction: if the algorithm was indeed random, I believe that to be even more impressive since our guesses, especially last night, were spot on. This is unprecedented and... highly unusual. I'd highly recommend many of the TEPers to invest in more predictable trends for real-life monetary gains.

5 coins, but then again I didn't really have much patience to watch the stock market or had enough popularity to have someone donate to me.

That last part sounds like I'm asking for attention, but seriously just recognizing that I'm not popular :p

How did you people get so many bytecoins!?!?!??!?!

Many used scripts. >:(

But not me. It's a chaotic system. I'm a chaotic system. We understand eachother. :)

Scripting for this would be counterproductive, since it was much easier to play it like the stock market - a simple task that my whole family, who can't understand script language for nuts (including myself), can do.

Say, you aren't a really good trader are you? But you ended top 25! :P

EDIT: So I decided to remember the terms (million, billion, trillion, quadrillion, quintillion, sextillion, septillion, octillion, nonillion, decillion???). I apparently have 12 septillion. Lovely since my birthday is in September. Fun fact: Romans took March as the first month, that's why September, October, November and December, the traditional last few months in the year were actually the seventh, eighth, ninth and ten respectively. Hence the name.

I bought out at the end of trading. Nicked a fine 132.76 trillion bytecoins. Not much compared to the instant quintillionaries, but hey, how many people can say their a trillionaire? 8)

Had eight billionaires in my exchange (no, I didn't seize anything, had an even trillion of my own), including one septillionaire and one octillionaire. Wish the real stock market was this easy. 8)

Yeah, I saw your exchange. You were top for a while. I think I had a small amount in your exchange, but the rest was in my 2nd nation.

After getting hosed from the number one spot on day one when I tried to sell high at a 7-second plateau of like ~4000, but the trade went through right after the price fell instantly to less than 1      I stayed the hell away for most of day 2. Then near the end I started back in and wound up with 1.88 quadrillion.

The best part?

I got Issue 283 this morning (Wealthy Flee to Tax-free Havens) :lol2:
