Oh, Norway's pines are tall and fair,
and Finland's lakes are clear,
and every heart in Sweden
still holds their country dear.
Each citizen remembers
that day of great renown:
a peaceful joining of the three
to form the the Triple Crown.
So hail to king and kingdom,
hail to our queen so true;
whenever danger threatens,
we gladly fight for you.
Bedecked with northern beauty
and never conquered yet:
hail to the land that bore us,
hail Den Svenska Riket.
Though we wander the world,
our hearts will not forget;

Thanks for introducing me to a new verse form, Whovianites! I'd written rondels before, but never a roundel. And here is yours:

And he returns again to every place
Where he is needed, ready to defend
An alien people or the human race,

Two hearts still beat, and death is not the end,
Merely a pause; he wears another face,
But those who knew him once greet him as friend.

His wanderings through all of time and space
(Time is not linear and space can bend)
No map in three dimensions could retrace,

He cares deeply about his people's opinions; note the fact that he has held no less than 88 referendums asking the people to approve the execution of 649 "enemies of the State", "enemies of the public", and "enemies of the President" (they all passed with at least a two-thirds majority).

Thank you for the suggestion, but I have other places I habitually go to for writing-related discussion and activities (that not being NS's primary focus).

There's nothing stopping anyone else from doing that, though.
